Located at the mouth of West Street next to KFC make it very convenient to go here and there.

The staffs are helpful (Emmy speaks very good English), room is clean, compact, good quality bathroom toiletries (with note encouraging quests to take them for further usage) and the interior decorations on every floor are beautiful.

The Motorcycle & Bicycle Rental of Sister Huang (黄姐) in front of KFC offer good, new vehicles with reasonable price at 120 yuan/day for automatic motorbike with full tank petrol and bicycle at 20-50 yuan/day.

Nice small hotel perfectly located at the beginning of west street between the "Beer Fish" restaurants (local speciality) and the KFC.

The good: it's staff is friendly and rooms clean. Breakfast on the rooftop with among the best views of the town. Restaurants, bars, the river, post office, bus stop are all on a short walking distance.

The bad: try to get the rooms on the backside, they might be noisy at daytime because of the volleyball hall, but they are delightfully quiet at night time, whereas the front (facing the Main Street) is packed with people and ambulant musicians (especially in the weekend) till deep in the night.

Yangshuo is a great place to visit, after visiting the major cities in China, the small town feeling of Yangshuo was a welcome break. The hotel is located at the top of the main shopping street. We had a good sized balcony which over looked the town center and had an amazing view of the mountains.

The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and spacious, the internet connection was good and our stay here was perfect.

    We highly recommend this place.

    Have fun.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view.

Stayed here for 3 nights in September. Very clean, quiet, spacious room and shower room. Plenty of choice at breakfast though the hot items might have been a bit hotter. The location of the hotel at the head of West Street is perfect for sitting outside watching the world go by or for night/day time shopping only yards away. Staff and management were only too anxious to please but not intrusive. There are any amount of restaurants nearby, including a KFC and a MacDonalds (the best and worst of both cultures?). I have paid a lot more at other establishments and received a lot worse in return hence my 5 rating for this property which I feel gave very good value.

We stayed at the Aiyuan Hotel for 3 nights in September, 2012 and were very pleased with it. Located at the top of West street, it is right at the tip of all you might want in the way of street shopping, restaurants, cafes, coffee places, and, of course, a very chaotic night life after the sun goes down. It is within walking distance to everything in that section of town, and you can rent bikes or scooters mere feet from the front entrance if you're looking to get further away (which I highly recommend -- the scenery around Yangshuo gets more beautiful at every turn).

I found the lobby to be simple and very charming and the staff quite helpful, and they speak a little English if your Chinese isn't up to par. There is a community-use computer in the lobby, which is nice, as the wi-fi signal can be a little spotty.

The guest rooms are nothing fancy, but, again, charming and clean and decorated using some of the locally-made colorful fabrics. The air conditioning worked just fine. There are safes in the rooms, but there is no refrigerator (fortunately you can get cold bottled water right outside the front entrance of the hotel). The beds are hard, but this is standard all over China. We requested and immediately got 2 additional pillows, which helps. The bathrooms were fairly modern and roomy enough, and we had excellent hot water and plenty of it. The rooms don't seem to be overly sound-proofed, so do expect to hear other guests coming and going; also, our first night was a little noisy from the street-life below, but we moved to a room on the back side of the hotel and it was fine after that.

The hotel's restaurant on the 5th floor is delightful. The views are especially enjoyable in the morning while the mists weave in and out of the hills. The only meal we ever ate there was breakfast, but it was quite nice with both Chinese and Western options. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
