Follow the marked route and stop at statues depicting scenes from the Civil Rights Movement. What an incredible experience to walk in the footsteps of all the brave people who marched to make life better for themselves and the world. There was a beautiful fountain also. Plenty of places to sit and reflect on the events that occurred there.

It is beautiful. Love all the information/ history statues all through it. Landscape is gorgeous. Love the waterfall, too.

This is a nice place to walk around and remember the sacrifices so many people made during this sad time in our country's history.

The park is a beautiful tribute to all of the Civil Rights soldiers who fought for their rights. However, I was sadden to see so many homeless people hanging out in the park.

There is basically one reason for going to this park-you have to be a history buff in general or have an interest in the Civil Rights Movement in specific. I qualify for both so I enjoyed walking around the park. Bordering the park are the Civil Rights Institute and the 16th Street Baptist Church. Both of these are worth visiting in their own right and the park does work in conjunction with visiting these two sites. However, I am not certain that a visitor going to the park without going to the two sites would gain a real appreciation or understanding of the movement just from the statues alone. Perhaps I am grading this one too harshly. The park itself takes about 30-45 minutes to walk through and look at all of the monuments, but if you are doing the other two sites as well then I recommend a minimum of three hours for all three sites.
