“Good location for shopping and eating”
Reviewed 2 August 2014

#1: it's attached to BHams largest indoor mall, and within a mile of tons of other shops, stores, and restaurants. So if you're looking to stay close to shopping and eating places, this is the best.

Stayed two nights for a sports tournament, so not too much time spent at the hotel. Our room was nice and clean, and the towel and bedding service was fine. Really Good gym for a hotel, and I have used many. but we were never able to get out to the rooftop pool, which was closed even during the hours posted that it was open.

All in all, a good hotel for what we needed, at a good price.

Traveling through Birmingham on the last leg of the return home from a long road trip, we found this hotel on tripadviser.com. We were not visiting Birmingham per se so I cannot speak to the location but the faculty itself is very nice and clean and attached to a mall! Our teenaged daughters loved that! They said it was the best "pit-stop" ever. I was pleased with the comfort of the room, the friendliness of the check-in staff, and the price. Room service food was actually very good, too.

We had the opportunity to stay at this hotel on two occasions exactly one week apart. On the first visit we stayed in 1526 and were offered the late check out option and this was the upgraded club room option. We were impressed with the cleanliness of the room, the added touches such as robes and a real bathroom rug. The motion censored night lights located on the bedside tables were wonderful. We enjoyed the Club room offerings both in the afternoon as well as the next morning for breakfast. The maid who we spoke with personally was kind and courteous and we especially appreciated the late check out at 2pm.The room did not have a great view but it was quiet. The first experience was wonderful!
However, exactly one week later we checked in to room 1427 and were not offered the late checkout. When we entered the corridor it was cluttered with dirty dishes outside of at least six rooms and smelled badly. The refrigerator in this room has a loud buzzing noise when running and the motion sensored night lights were not working. The maid came around 8:30 am knocking loudly on all the doors. The club room and it's food offerings and service were great and still right on target. This room did have a better view but overall we were extremely disappointed in the second stay at this hotel. The other issue was that this hotel places a hold on your credit card in a much larger amount than what you check out balance is and it took 4 days for it to be corrected. You do pay for $10. Parking per day unless you park in the mall and walk over as well as $10 a day for Wifi.
We found it interesting that they advertised that they had just completed 21 million in recent renovations but the pool has not been updated and has no lighting after dark. The outdoor whirlpool/jacuzzi is non working. This is our third stay at this hotel and it really could be an amazing hotel as it is in a great location and the connection to the Galleria makes it a fun atmosphere.

I appreciate your review of the Hyatt Regency Birmingham - The Wynfrey Hotel. I am sorry that you did not feel your most recent stay exceeded your expectations. We work diligently to ensure that trays, dishes and trash are removed effeciently from our hallways while being very transparent to our customers, such as yourself. Unfortuantley your arrival was in between our staff clearing the floors. I am sorry that you checked into your room and the hallway were in the condition you described. The pool was part of the renovation last year, the pool was refinished along with the pool deck and new deck furniture. Lighting is a concern that is being addressed. There was a delay with the arrival of the pool lights causing us to have to close @ dusk. The long awaited lights arrived from the manufactuer and are being installed this month. Once installed the pool will be opened until 10:00pm. The last peice of our renovation is a new channel lineup offering 80 HD channels, which is also happening this month. I appreicate your comments and your buisness. Thank you for both.

Excellent location, with easy acces to the 495, very close to shopping centers, restaurants etc, the building is very well maintained, the rooms are very clean and organized, with very nice view of the city, employees very courteous, lobby clean and cozy, connecting with the Mall "Riverchase Galleria" and Shula's Steakhouse. The Hotel offers and hosts, events, conferences, meetings, etc. Self parking with optional Valet for $12 per day. The pool and jacuzzi are located in the 4th floor and is open until Dawn. The rate of the rooms is competitive with other hotels.

Room Tip: Rooms facing East have better view.

Nice hotel that is conveniently attached to the galleria. Spacious room and bathroom. Nice large window. Comfortable bed. Parking is underground and safe. I guess my only complaint was the questionable (bodily fluid?) stain on the ottoman. Other than that I enjoyed the room.

Thank you for your review and feedback about your most recent stay @ Hyatt Regency Birmingham - The Wynfrey Hotel. I am sorry that we fell short of your expectations. The Hotel is newly renovated and just finished a $20 million dollar renovation, there are no significant plumbing issues that I have seen. but obviously there was an isolated plumbing concern in your room which I truly apologize you experienced, I shared your review with my engineering team and restaurant team. I would love to discuss this with you in further detail. Please reach out to me by dialing the main hotel number and ask for the General Manager. Your satisfaction is important to me. Thank you for your review and for your business.
