“Scary!”
Reviewed 16 April 2014

We stoppped by Railroad Park after a Barons baseball game recently. There were people everywhere and LOTS of police telling rowdy kids to get out of there. I did NOT feel safe at all. We definitely won't be going back!!

“A gem in Birmingham”
Reviewed 29 March 2014

I'm not a fan of Birmingham. There aren't many parks or great open spaces compared to other cities.
Railroad Park is a diamond in this city. It is great for exercise, relaxation, and spending time with friends or family. You can easily take a lawn chair or a blanket, a frisbee, and a picnic, and have a wonderful day or afternoon.
There are clean and modern bathrooms. Some concession services. There are free exercise classes at different times.
I go alone all of the time and have never experienced a problem. I usually park a little further away to keep any open spaces available for families.

Notes:
DON'T go when the Barons are playing unless you want to park FAR away. Parking needs to be SERIOUSLY improved in the area.
There aren't many restaurants or shops in the near vicinity.
Free wifi at the park.
Pet friendly, bring bags. I've not seen a lot of 'bag stations'
Alcohol allowed in certain areas when the concessions are selling.
DO go to Good People brewing after. I usually go to the park on Sunday then wander over to GP for a drink and enjoy their Sunday music series.

“Really GREAT park!!”
Reviewed 27 March 2014 via mobile

This park is clean & wide open! A really fantastic place for the kids to run around. It's even better if your family enjoys seeing trains. You could easily spend a couple hours sitting on the lawn, playing on the playground, watching the koi & carp in the pond or just taking a stroll. I wish we found this park a day earlier. A must-visit in Birmingham!
