Birmingham is a beautiful city with all the pieces of history that make a great American story--immigration, innovation, determination, and integration. My wife and I looked on tripadvisor for a place where we could picnic for lunch on our way to Orlando. We stumbled upon Vulcan Park and Museum. The $6 per person ticket was a small price to pay for spectacular landscaping, scenic view of the city, museum and the wonderful staff at Vulcan Park and Museum. We spent two hours at this clean and relaxing community treasure where we learned about Birmingham's history. The main focus of the museum is the role of the pig iron production and the story of the Vulcan statue that overlooks the city. (A great surprise to me since I didn't know anything about the statue or Birmingham.) I recommend this to any and all! Thank you Birmingham for adding a great memory to our wedding anniversary road trip.
