“It's disappointing”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 August 2014 via mobile

After checking in, the receptionist pointed us to the wrong elevator. We were staying in a non-smoking room but the room smell. At night there was frequent noise from the road. The air conditioning was not strong enough. There was a bed side power socket but it only has the China 3-leg outlet, not a 2-leg one. The Internet connection was fast. It's too expensive for the value and location.

This was a stay for my husbands work, I would not rate this as a five star hotel, however for Tai'an is it good. The rooms were clean and comfortable we were on the IHG preferred floor (room 1032) so I am not sure if all the rooms are like ours. The concierge was very helpfully in getting our train booking changes and arranging a hotel car to get us to the train station.
The thing that was most inconvenient was the locked mini bar, I just wanted to put a bottle of complimentary water in the fridge to cool down but you have to call guest services to access this.
Breakfast has a wide selection but most of it is for the Chinese/Asian backgrounds however you can find basis western breakfast food. The lunch noodle menu was very good with a bowl of noodles big enough to feed two.

for those who travel on china, choosing an american chain hotel is always a safe choice. it might not be the best hotel in town, nor the best cost benefit, but it is what you expected to find... and arriving late evening in a place where you know there will be a good bedroom, clean and in a good environment makes a lot of difference.
the hotel is good, the bedrooms are ok and spacious, even to hold an extra bed.
the breakfast is good. so long story short, it is a good choice when visiting mont Tai.

This is four point, but sold as five star hotel. overall, it's nice hotel.
Good bed, location is not bad, quite new and service is OK, it matches our expectation.
only uncomfortable thing is breakfast, it's not good. and I got used to that our Chinese people always got messy on table and on food area, they didn't clean it very quickly, they should improve it.
When we have dinner at same place, the service is much better I have to say.
Good, it can be your choice at Tai'An

Room Tip: Mt view is just so so, No needs to pay that.

Visited the hotel, and the first thing that you notice is Four Points by Sheraton. You would expect the service by sheraton. stayed there for 2 nights, room 1329, Feb 2014

Rooms are nice and expected of a good hotel. But what would be very surprising and very disappointing would be the service of the staff. They have not followed what a standard hotel procedure and cut corners where possible.

1. Breakfast was a big no no. Six slot toaster with only two slot working.

2. Salt shaker was not refilled, leaving dried rice grains in shaker. This was verified with staff and almost all shaker would give rice grains but no salt. see pictures.

3. No fork and knife at a western buffet? can comprehend how a hotel that quotes the sheraton brand dare claims this. see pictures.

4. unwashed coffee maker. see pic

5. hot milk in a drum and left empty. see pic

6. no coffee spoon. only plastic stirrer at a 5 star restaurant

7. At the lounge in the evenings, the latte is cooler than the hot water. not even warm. the manager at that time Lei, claims that the hotel skill in making coffee is not as good as a coffee shop like starbucks. a replacement was given, but what an excuse.

when approached, the F&B manager Jason says this is not required for the type of guest at Four Points Tai Shan. Do you mean that a 5 star hotel lowers their standard according to location.

complained to their corporate office, but once again, looks like cover up as the guest relation office refuse to give me a complains reference to follow up.

if you want to be shortchanged by a 5 star hotel, this is the place to be.

Overnight for visiting Mount Tai. Excellent facility and brand new. Room is large enough. Food in the Chinese restaurant is nice, a good and upscale alternative to local restaurants. Service efficient and polite. A bit far from Mount Tai entrance but taxi is cheap and fast. Great value for money.

A very new, clean, spacious, great service and lovely hotel.
It is very new, just open for business in 2012 according to the tour guide.
The sleeping experience is definitely ultimate comfortable.
The only thing is the Playing card in room is chargeable at RMB8 per set, as I thought it is free.
The breakfast is just average for Sheraton.
There are a big supermarket next to the hotel.
