the pagodas were nice but i enjoyed the hike up the 5 levels behind the pagodas with one temple nicer than the other with the mountains as a background.

A huge place, stretching for about 3 kilometres, including the three pagodas, and the tomb of a king. Restored after the Cultural Revolution. Clean, smoke free (or as close as possible in China) and electric carts to carry the weary. Souveniers are available.

Three pagodas can be seen from the outside as well and you skip the whole brand new temple which has low interest, except if you make the effort to go at the very top of it for the view...

Unless you are a photographer and want another angle (though one that has been used by -- likely -- million of others) you can avoid this site: there is nothing to see there!

on April 23, me and lulu decided to visit the famous Three Pagodas. We rented bikes and toured around it. Three Pagodas, one big and two smaller ones, composing an impressive view against the Cangshan Mountain and casting reflections on the erhai lake.

Two smalls pagodas are leaning, thus is famed as the Pisa Tower in China. They are of high aesthetic and archiecture study value.

It is said if you can make three wishes under them, and all will come true if you are sincerely enough.
