the renovation of the city is beatiful and the narrow Streets kept the the image of a traditional old chines city. A lot of people, mainly chinese travellers.

It is very nice to visit the old town but it gets very crowded especially in the evening. A lot of shops and restaurants. There was a nice dancing show in the evening.

The 800 years old Lijiang Old Town (also known as Dayan Town, 大研古镇) is one of the most well preserved ancient towns in China. Dayan Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site was first built in the beginning of the Yuan Dynasty.

She is also known as “Oriental Venice”, with crystal clear streams flowing past almost every household, and every home is surrounded by picturesque willow trees.

The sad thing is: She is getting so commercialized that I want to escape to ShuHe Old Town. The tourists are endless regardless which season.

I like the heritage buildings. Every house was built differently. The beauty of the old town is that cars are not allowed. So you have to walk around to look for where you stay. It is very quiet at night'
I dislike that too many outsiders came in and took over heritage houses and running the hotels here. Most of the locals are moving out of the areas.

Interesting, historically-rich town, and the interesting little shops with ethnic wares.
Disliked the crowded touristy main streets. Best to go through the side streets.
