“Scam at lake lashi.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 February 2014

Paid 800 for two for the horse-riding and boating. Was told it was special price and was asked to be hush about it. The ride was done in less than 2 hours. I could only commend the horses, and nothing much else. Grossly overpriced. And I feel cheated.

“Tranquility is the word”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 January 2014

Like I was in a world that I had never been before. I enjoyed the mule riding up the hill. On top of the hill, the view was breathtaking especially early in the morning. You can see the river water vaporizing creating a mystical view together with the sun rays. Waterfalls can be seen along the journey. The journey on boat also was great, seeing birds and ducks resting on the bushes.

“scam at lashi lake.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 January 2014

there is nothing to see at lashi lake. time can be better spent elsewhere. do avoid touts at zhongyi market touting horse riding at lashi lake. the modus operandi is as follows: the mini van would bring you to an obscure horse riding station. on alighting, the van would simply drive off leaving you stranded at the station for a high pressure sales pitch. many riding routes are displayed on the board. this is a scam. there is one and oni one route lasting slightly more than an hr ride and paddling around the pond. the price is 480 yuan. hahaha this is a rip off. the package can be done at 80 yuan. yes jus 80 yuan. if you have to go there, book at the hotel and bargain down to 100 yuan at most. this info is well known among local travellors.

“Pretty views of the mountains”

We stopped at Lashi Lake on our way to Baisha and Shuhe, and while it has some nice views of the mountains, there is really not much else to do or see.

“A Gift for Birds Watchers”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 October 2013

Known as "New Basin" in Naxi Tribe language. Gazetted as National Wetland Park. Abt less than 30 minutes of drive thru the country via Lijiang Ancient town ( 8 Km west ). At an elevation of 2,500 meters located at Hengduan Mountain Range provides a wonderful view of the province and the climate is also much cooler than other parts of Yunnan, even during the summer months.

An important habitat for over 70 species of migratory birds and various plants, fish, shellfish and river snails.

With its rich environment, the watershed of Lashi Lake is covered with dense virgin forests, an extensive plateau lake and marsh where the Naxi and Yi ethnic groups have lived in harmony with diverse wild creatures for millennia.

Great for nature lovers esp Birds watchers due to migratory birds .An estimation of 25k to 30 k birds ( app 75 species ) flew in to escape the bitter winter. In winter, many wild birds stream here through the Valley of the Hengduan Mountain down from the cold Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. The relatively warmer climate here makes it possible for birds to endure the long and cold winter in safety. By spring, the birds fly flock back to northen for reproduction.
