“Villa Andro is a Jewel”

We had 3 nights in a lovely apartment with a wonderful view of the blue Adriatic Sea from our bedroom windows. The apartment was perfect for our needs: three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a kitchen. We arrived late in the evening and met Andrushco, the owner, who walked us to the ATM, showed us the bakery shop for breakfast supplies, and generally acclimated us to the town. Andrushco literally took us under his wing with his many suggestions for restaurants, instructions on how to get the ferry into Dubrovnik, and by arranging a ride for us to the international ferry terminal on the far side of Dubrovnik from where we were taking a ferry to Italy.
The terrace from Villa Andro is the best place in town from which to watch the sunset. We are so glad we stayed in charming Cavtat (and at Villa Andro) instead of Dubrovnik.

This was our first time to Cavtat and the beginning of our family vacation in Croatia. We could not have found a more perfect place to stay. Andrusko is a wonderful host and the two apartments were just right for our family of 12 (ages 3 to 76). The location, the amenities, and the warm welcome were great. Now that we are finally home, we all agree that Villa Andro was the best and we all hope to return some day. Thank you, Andrusko, for everything!

Our 4th year staying in beautiful Cavtat......but unfortunately not at VILLA ANDRO.....it was fully booked. As we had stayed there our previous 3 times I had to write a review just to let you all know about Andrusko and Tanja's hospitality, it does not just extend to his paying guests BUT to non-paying ones too.

Staying elsewhere we just had to say hello whilst in Cavtat and needless to say we had a very warm heartfelt welcome from Tanja and Andrusko, enjoying his homemade brandy, coffee and Tanja's homemade cake. They welcomed us like members of their own family. Needless to say we made sure we booked for next year and will be dreaming about it for the next year.

Villa ANDRO is in a superb location with all the facilities that you need for a comfortable stay. All the previous reviews say it all so make sure to read them. Also be reassured if you have ANY problems help is close by (Andrusko and his lovely current wife Tanja) :) xx

Ps. Try the Dolium restaurant....highly recommended and not expensive...yum yum

We stayed at Villa Andro in late May and as others have commented Andrushco was a charming and hospitable host.
He welcomed us all with an introduction to Cavtat and a homemade drink and was readily available (without being intrusive) if we needed him for anything during our stay. He is very knowledgeable about the area and we found his information and recommendations very helpful.

Cavtat itself is beautiful and the apartment is in a perfect position just along the front from the bars, restaurants and shops with the bakery, an ATM and the supermarket 2 or 3 minutes away. It was very nice, the kitchen well equipped and the beds comfortable. The 2 main bedrooms had lovely sea views. We had a small balcony but there is also a private courtyard which Andrushco's wife, Tanya, has decorated with pebbles making wonderful mosaics.

Andrushco kindly arranged a minibus for us - we were 5 adults - to and from the airport which he told us worked out cheaper than 2 taxis and before we left he shared his homemade liqueur with us.

We would have no hesitation in recommending this lovely place and we will be back as soon as we can manage it.
Thank you, Andrushco.

This is our 2nd time of visiting our favourite place Cavtat. We absolutely had to rebook after our first holiday which was so special. Villa Andro is set in the most beautiful place, and the hospitality we receive from Andrusko and his family is 2nd to none. We were greeted with the usual treats from Tanja's cooking and Andrusko's home brews, which sits perfectly when catching up with our friends. Villa Andro is stunning and there is no better place to relax and have a glass of wine. Whether it is on the terrace looking out to Dubrovnik twinkling in the distance over the Adriatic Sea, sitting in the beautifully crafted garden talking about Cavtat and its history, or having a glass of wine on the balcony, every option is perfect.

Cavtat itself has plenty to keep you occupied. This time around we visited the fantastic memorium in the graveyard, went kayaking and took a must-do trip to Mostar. The food is also excellent. Plenty of restaurants.

Tip: Stay at Villa Andro in April. Warm weather, unbelievable prices, excellent location. Nothing more to say.

We will be rebooking. Unquestionably.

Thanks Andrusko : )

WOW - what a delight to stay in Villa Andro.

We decided to stay in Cavat, and just take the bus #10 the 15 km into Dubrovnik when we wanted to check out the old city. Clearly a good choice as other folks have mentioned.

Villa Andro is indeed a treasure, as are the owners Andrusko and Tatiana. The villas delightful green garden features fig trees, roses, hydrangeas ferns, and a cumquat tree etc. , and lovely cement walls sculpted by Tatiana covered with pebbles and shells.

There is also a huge terrace which looks down over the quaint harbour - a fabulous spot for happy hour and a glass of wine, watching the bobbing fish boats in the harbour. As you watch the sun sets you can see the twinkling lists of old town Dubrovnik twinkling in the distance.

The rooms have everything you could possibly need in terms of appliances, kitchen stuff, and even a washing machine. Who could ask for more.

The location is definitely a 10 out of 10. The property has been in the family over 100 years and it is unquestionably the prime piece of real estate in the entire town.

The owner Andrusko has a great sense of humor, and just couldn't do enough for us. He even brought us some freshly baked goodies to enjoy on the terrace. He is also a wealth of information.

I am absolutely shocked that Villa Andro is #2 instead of #1. Personally, I think Tripadvisor has the ratings wrong. We had a look at the other place, and to us it seemed to be in a most inconvenient location. Perhaps that's why they have such few reviews which may have been made by friends of the owner. In any case check both places out and decide for yourself.

Cavtat itself is magical. The sea is a deep and brilliant blue with pools of green, and a wide promenade, fringed with palm trees, and runs along the harbor front. Cobbled streets with traditional stone houses climb back from the blue of the waterfront.

One more tip. Right next door to Villa Andro is the Posiedon Restaurant, which has probably the best prices and food in town. Try the Chicken Gorgonzola!

Villa Andro is superb in every aspect, and we wouild come back in a heartbeat. You simply cann go wrong staying here!

We stayed at Villa Andro in April this year. The accommodation was very homely and has fantastic views across the bay, it is just a few steps through the pretty courtyard garden and you are at the water front where the cafes and restaurants are. We had a lovely welcome from Andrushco giving us lots of history about Cavtat and where to visit, he also arranged a taxi on arrival and return to the airport.
Thank you Andrushco for a wonderful week in Cavtat and thank you to Tanja for a delicious birthday cake. Oh and mustn't forget Andrushcos kumquat brandy!!
