“Lovely accomodation”
Reviewed 20 September 2009

We have just returned from a week at Villa Andro and can only agree with the previous reviews. Villa Andro is in a perfect location, the rooms are nicely furnished and spacious and everywhere is spotlessly clean, the garden is a great place to relax and Andrusko makes you feel very welcome. He seems to genuinely enjoy having guests.

Cavtat is perfect for a relaxing holiday with lots of great restaurants and bars. Dubrovnik is just a short ride away by either bus or boat.

We were very impressed by Cavtat, Villa Andro and Croatia in general - would not hesitate to recommend it for anyone wanting a peaceful holiday in beautiful surroundings.

Located right in the centre of Cavtat, Villa Andro is a haven of peace and quiet, but with access to all amenities. The accomodation is simple but very clean and comfortable. The bedrooms are spacious and the kitchen has everything available for self catering. Andrusko is a charming and extremely kind and helpful host. I would certainly recommend this place.

Villa Andro is a lovely place with a great location right in the heart of Cavtat. Our room was very clean and we had a beautiful view of the harbour and the gardens in which the villa is set are gorgeous and very relaxing!. The kitchen, which has everything you need, is shared with other guests and although the bedrooms are not ensuite, but this is not a problem at all. I would say Villa Andro is moderately priced for a self catering apartment, but it's main selling point is the views, its location right in the heart of Cavtat town and close to all restaurants and bars. Andrusko is a very friendly and kind gentleman who makes all his guests feel very welcome, It's a great little place to stay for a relaxing break in Cavtat . I would certainly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a relaxing location right in the heart of the town.

We were looking for somewhere near the airport for our last night in Croatia, and were very pleasantly surprised to discover the lovely Cavtat and Villa Andro. Andruskho was a wonderful host, welcoming us with a plate of fresh figs, and plying us with his kumquat brandy! Our room in the apartment was spacious and clean, and had a lovely sunny balcony overlooking the bay. There is also a shaded garden. The apartments are in a fantastic location in the middle of Cavtat, but peaceful and quiet. We really liked Cavtat, which has a great selection of restaurants and bars but a low-key feel.

Luck was with us when we came across this one by chance only a few days ago! A lovely simple villa in a superb setting, central for restaurants and yards from the beach yet private and relaxing, this property comes with an attentive and interesting host Andrusco who will regale you with his special coffee and home made brandy and go beyond the call of duty in making you totally at home. We are already planning a return visit!

We stayed in Villa Ando for 5 days in Cavtat and all I can say is we loved it! My boyfriend and I have done a lot of travelling and stayed in some amazing hotels but Villa Ando beats most of them! Ando and his family are so welcoming and helpful with their local knowledge. We caught the bus from Dubrovnik which is easy and I would recommend cheaper than a taxi! (40kunas) On arrival we were shown to our room then had a welcome drink with Ando in his beautiful garden. The villa is very relaxed and although we shared the apartment with another couple you have your own room and private bathroom and then you share a kitchen. It was actually quite nice meeting different people at the same time as having your privacy. The rooms are quite spacious with a double bed (2 singles pushed together, but fine!) dressing table, bedside cabinets and a good wardrobe, the main benefit is the remote controlled air conditioning which was great. The rooms are spotless and the bathroom was lovely, modern and very clean and the shower is amazing!!. The shared kitchen has all the facilities you need - cooker, fridge, pots, pans etc but to be honest we only ate breakfast there the rest of the time we ate out. The location is perfect, very central but not completely on the main strip of shops you are minutes walk from restaurants, bars, shops, supermarket and the amazing bakery - recommend the croissants! The beach is about 10/15minutes walk in each direction - take the left turn and follow the path round past the nudist beach this beach is a lot quieter and the water is so blue great for snorkelling. Cavtat itself is definitely a hidden gem.. and the scenary is amazing.. clear blue waters, and you can pretty much swim anywhere off the rocks. It is a bit pricey eating out but I would say normal UK prices. We went on the boat trip to the 3 islands - would recommend although don't get your hopes up about the 'all inclusive alcohol and food' this is wine if you are lucky and fish and salad! The trip is worth it though and the islands are beautiful. Would also recommend a boat trip to Dubrovnik, boats run every hour or so from the marina and you get a fantastic view coming into Dubrovnik.
We hadn't planned the last few days of our trip as we didn't know whether we wanted to return to Dubrovnik but as nice as Dubrovnik is constant busy tourists weren't our thing so we decided to stay in Cavtat and although Ando didn't have space in his villa he helped us get accomodation across the road and even organised us a lift with one of his friends to the airport so we really didn't have to worry about a thing!
All in all we would recommend Croatia and we fell in love with Cavtat and in our opinion there really is only one place to stay and we would definitely return! Thank you so much Ando for all your help and for making us so welcome we need to plan our next trip!
