Villa Kipre

Villa Kipre is in an ideal location in Cavtat, slightly up the hill (2 mins walk) from the centre of Cavtat. The double room we stayed in was a decent size and had a nice balcony overlooking a rocky garden at the back (keep an eye out for the tortoise). There are rooms with sea-views, so I'd recommend asking for this if it's a deal-breaker for you. Our room had a good quality bathroom with a hot, powerful shower, reliable and quiet air-conditioning, and we slept pretty well - I think it's just far enough away from the front to escape the hubbub - not that Cavtat's exactly a 'party town' anyway :)

Ana, the owner, is lovely and couldn't do enough for us, so we felt very well looked after throughout our stay. Breakfast was a typical Balkan feast of cheese, bread, cold meat, bread, coffee, bread, juice, bread, jam, bread, pate.. etc. all very nice and certainly enough to see you through until lunchtime. It was all presented on their attractive rooftop balcony and - while we were there - in the company of the family cats and dog.

Villa Kipre was 'homely' and had the right amount of privacy - in the evenings, coming back and seeing the family and other guests on the patio, we felt welcome to join in, but free to come-and-go and under no pressure. On the day we left, our flight was in the evening; Ana looked after our bags during the day and her husband drove us to the airport for 70 Kuna - cheaper and more convenient than a taxi and Ana's husband was amicable company for the journey.

Villa Kipre offers good-quality, simple, affordable accommodation - I doubt you will be disappointed, and you'll certainly be made to feel very welcome by Ana.

Room Tip: Not so much a room tip, but to avoid the (short, but steep-ish) hill on the way up to the villa - th...

Me and my friends just came back from Cavtat, where we were staying in a wonderful place with a wonderful hosts, called Vill Kipre.
This people really made everything to make us feel like home: picked us up from the air port early in the morning, produced us with the best room, made a great home party with croatian native meals, music and songs... we had so much fun there and comparing with other places we've been to in Europe, we never met such a lovely atmosphere.
Me and my friends dicided that we will come back again and not once and in couple of yeasr will bring our families there...Grear place to be! THANK YOU!

Room Tip: you just need to book a room or an apt. about 2 weeks before u go, they have very nice 3 room apartm...

I have recently returned from this excellent Sobe/room in Cavatat and throughly recommend it. Ana and her husband will go out of their way to help you in whatever way they can. They picked me up from the airport and because they were a little late refused to take any money and then when I was leaving Ana hopped in her car and insisted on driving me the short distance to the bus station.
The property is beside the Hotel Cavtat and about 5 min walk down hill to the centre of town.
It consists of several apartments and rooms available for rent. I had a single room and shared a huge terrace overlooking the mountains with the sea to the right. I shared this with a German couple (2 ladies) who had the 2 room apartment next door. We all got on very well and Ana supplied us with jugs of wine in the evenings as we watched the sun go down.
The room was basic but had an excellent shower toilet and basin and cost 20 euro per night.
Cavtat is lovely with lots of cafes and restaurants to suit all tastes (I loved the squid).
If you walk to the HOtel Croatia you can use their sun beds on the beach for 20 Kuna per day which is much cheaper that the public beach at the other side as they supply cushions and towels for this price. Swimming in the clear blue Adriatic is a dream.
The bus station is at the bottom of the hill and you can get a bus there to Dubrovnik or take a boat from the harbour.
Highly highly recommended
