Are we going to spoil the ratings? - of course not, it really is 5 star. We stayed at Villa Ivy for 14 nights in June and now, 24 days after leaving, wish we were back there. There is nothing to add that hasn’t already been said except to say it is all true. Geoff and Helen are wonderful hosts, the Villa is absolutely spotless, as is the pool and the views are magnificent. Great attention to detail to ensure your holiday is one to remember.
Nobody has had a wrong word to say about Geoff’s mountain trip and why should they. The trip is in Geoff’s Jag and is just wonderful. Fabulous scenery, places you would not normally see. Geoff had even got the landing and take off times for flights in to an out of Dubrovnik Airport which we viewed from way above it in he mountains (drinking a beer, courtesy of Geoff's Cooler Box). Terrific lunch at a mountain top restaurant (where you would least expect to see a restaurant) added to a really worthwhile and informative trip. The Villa is a 15 to 20 minute easy stroll to Cavtat Centre but a more difficult, steep walk back. Fortunately, the No. 10 bus from the centre of the village (every half hour) drops you (two stops) at the top of the lane down to the Villa – so convenient. This bus continues to Dubrovnik (via Milini, which is well worth a visit). Thanks Helen and Geoff for your hospitality and helping to make this holiday so special. As for Cavtat itself, just one word - Fantastic

We were asked to join some friends on a holiday to Villa Ivy in mid May. They had been twice before and thought we might enjoy it. They weren't wrong! We had such a lovely week in Cavtat and Villa Ivy is the icing on the cake. Geoff and Helen are two of the nicest people you will meet, and nothing is too much trouble - they just want to share their lovely villa with you, and try to ensure you have the best holiday possible. Villa Ivy is spotless and very well maintained, can't recommend it highly enough. Also, make sure you do Geoff's mountain trip - you won't regret it!

We visited Croatia for the first time last summer and had the pleasure of staying at the beautiful Villa Ivy. We had high hopes prior to our arrival due to the volume of outstanding reviews and my word, we weren’t disappointed. Geoff and Helen continuously went over and above to make our stay as relaxing and enjoyable as possible; nothing was too much trouble. Whether it was the chauffer service to and from the airport by Geoff himself, the hamper of fresh food upon arrival or the personalised chocolates on your bed, no detail of our stay in this spotless, well equipped apartment was overlooked. We spent days exploring the beautiful coastline and lounging by the immaculate pool overlooking the bay and in the evenings we dined at delicious restaurants in Cavtat per Geoff’s recommendations. We left happy and stress-free a week later having experienced all the brilliant things we had read about. We booked to return this summer after being home only a week and we cannot wait!

Villa Ivy is No.1 on Trip Advisor for a very good reason, that is Geoff and Helen the owners. Its all been said before on previous reviews but this combined with lovely apartments and beautiful views of the mountains and across the bay to Dubrovnik are unbeatable. From treats by the pool, advice and discounts at restaurants recommended by Geoff, airport transfers included (advice on anything you can think of)nothing is too much trouble. Its a nice walk into Cavtat about 15 minutes and if the hill is a bit too steep for you coming back there are plenty of buses. The highlight of the holiday was a trip into the mountains with Geoff and Helen complete with a superb meal.In our opinion Cavtat is a nice place to stay than Dubrovnik. We intend to return one day. Thanks again for a brilliant holiday.

We are, like so many people, the sort who never go back to the same place twice, but for the first time in 35 years, made an exception by revisiting Geoff and Helen at Villa Ivy, in June – the same time as last year.
Our hosts remained as congenial as ever, with nothing being too much trouble, and some really nice personal touches added to enhance our stay, all the way from the personal airport pick-up, the restaurant recommendations- with discounts – and the occasional unexpected culinary treat while poolside. However, Geoff and Helen have the knack of quickly becoming more like friends than hosts, but most importantly, with discretion and respect for your privacy as required.
There are many deservedly good reviews about Cavtat, and the positioning of Villa Ivy is just right, close but not too close – for us, a 15 -20 pleasant walk downhill, and 2 stops back on the bus to what I think is the best view of anywhere I have ever stayed.
Villa Ivy itself – well just read the 130+ reviews below this one – spot on for our kind of holiday – you can just chill in the sun with a pool and terrace shared usually by 0- 4 other people, or you can go on day trips to islands or inland towns – Mostar in Bosnia was a good one, organised, of course, by someone who Geoff knows , who provided an air-conditioned Mercedes for the trip. The opportunities to do different things - or do nothing - are so good, that we now realise that we have stayed close to Dubrovnik for 4 weeks now, and only been there for about a day and a half.
We ate very well – anything from simple lunches prepared in the apartment from local fresh produce from Cavtat market, to fusion food or fresh fish platters down in the town, overlooking a beautiful harbour scene.
As this was our second visit, we felt very much at home within hours, like putting on an old pair of gloves, and I think we will keep putting them on quite a few times more.
On leaving after two great weeks, it was definitely 'au revoir' , not 'goodbye'..

Room Tip: All apartments to the same exceptional standard -just a question of the size.

My wife and I were lucky enough to stay at Villa Ivy which we booked based upon other TA reviews. From the moment Geoff meets you at the airport until he drops you off for your return flight you are treated as a friend first and guest second. We had the one bed apartment which was very well furnished and provided all that you could expect and more. From the welcome pack to the very comfortable beds, this accommodation has it all. Great views, a lovely pool and a relaxing and peaceful setting made our stay here more that we could have wished for.

Cavtat itself is a lovely harbour town with a variety of restaurants and bars and Geoff will highlight those restaurants that will offer a generous discount that he has arranged for all his guests. We did not have a single bad meal and left wishing we could have just a few more evening meals in this wonderful setting. The walk into town is a pleasant 15 -20 stroll (downhill) and whilst we did do the walk back again a number of times there were buses and taxis available should you wish (at very reasonable prices too).

You would be hard pressed to find similar accommodation at such reasonable rates and would I suspect pay far more to get considerably less elsewhere. Overall a lovely relaxing stay for which we were very grateful.

We had a wonderful week in Villa Ivy at the end of May and couldn't have been more pleased with our choice. The property is of an excellent standard, very clean and has everything you could need including a lovely fresh welcome pack of local food and drink. There is a lovely pool and plenty of space and loungers on which to relax.
However what really made Villa Ivy special was Geoff and Helen and their passion for customer service. They cannot do enough for you, from welcoming us at the airport to welcome drinks with excellent local restaurant recommendations and even finding out when the cruise ships were due into Dubrovnik so we could avoid the crowds. We felt we had a truly personal service and were not just a 'room number'.
We have travelled to many places and wouldn't normally consider returning but the combination of Cavtat's beauty, the wonderful accommodation and the most genial of hosts have certainly made us think again!
Thanks Geoff and Helen for a really wonderful holiday.
