“Wonderful, relaxing holiday”
Reviewed 19 September 2010

My husband and I stayed at Villa Ivy, with friends, for a week 11 September 2010. We were picked up at the airport by the owner, Geoff, and transported to the villa 10 minutes away. There are 3 apartments, a one bed, a two bed and the one in which we stayed which was a three bed. The apartment was very nicely furnished and very clean and tidy, almost as if we were the first to stay there (which we weren't). Lunch had been left in the fridge for us, a bowl of salad from the vegetable garden, with a wonderful dressing made by our host, and a plate of meat and cheese, and also some lovely fresh bread. There was also some drinks, eggs, butter, tea and coffee. The bread was delivered, fresh, to our door every morning of our stay as well.
My husband usually has trouble with his back when we go on holiday due to the different beds but the beds here are supremely comfortable, with lovely clean white sheets. There were ample towels and also pool towels for when relaxing around the small pool outside.
The kitchen was well equipped with everything you need and again ample crockery, glasses, cutlery, pots and pans etc. all in excellent condition.
The owner, Geoff, can't do enough for you, I think he could arrange just about anything you asked for, nothing is too much trouble.
Cavtat is a really nice small town. The harbour is especially nice to sit at one of the many bars and watch all the fantastic yachts that moor there. The walk into town is about 15 to 20 minutes, but beware it is uphill on the way back!!! However, you can catch the bus for about 60p. Definitely try the ice cream from the ice cream parlour at the end of the harbour, I would say it is the best I have ever had.
Dubrovnik is a lovely city to visit although very busy, the bus takes about 20 minutes or alternatively you can catch the ferry which takes about 45 minutes but is very enjoyable. The walk around the old city walls is definitely worth doing with fantastic views over Dubrovnik .
All in all I would definitely recommend Villa Ivy if you are thinking of visiting Croatia.

My partner and i stayed here for 10 days at the end of August 2010. What can i say, it was fantastic.
We were met at the airport by Geoff, and it was a short journey to the apartment. The apartment was ultra modern,v clean and well equipped.Tthe fridge was stocked with ham, cheese, salad, milk, wine and eggs. there was a large balcony with a magnificent view out to the sea. Geoff is extremely pleasent and friendly and on hand for any help you may need.
Cavtat itself is wonderful. The main street has plenty of low key bars and some wonderful restuarants. Our favourite was Ivans. eoff also recommednds a few restuarants where you will receive 10% discount when you mention you are staying at the Villa Ivy. These restaurants provided delicious food and were value for money. I could say a lot more but i would be here forever. Dubrovnik is worth a visit by boat as it is a beautiful city. thanks Geoff and Helen for a wonderful holiday. Collette and James

We stayed in the apartment Dubrovnik for 5 nights in August. The well equipped accommodation is finished to a very high standard with spectacular views along the coastline towards Dubrovnik and the pool is a big bonus when travelling with children.
Geoff and Helen are fantastic hosts and have thought of everything possible to make your stay as enjoyable as possible (pick up from airport, welcome drink, welcome pack, abundance of information, tour of Cavtat etc.)
We would definitely recommend Villa Ivy to anyone visiting Cavtat or the Dubrovnik area.

The pristine apartment with superb equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, great views, all facilities (how many aprtments have more towels than you can use in a week, dishwasher tablets, mosquito repplents! the list could go on!) lived up to the other reviews on Trip Advisor. Met at the airport by Geoff and taken to our apartment where the fridge contained a superb welcome pack. Geoff and Helen are the most welcoming people who really care about ensuring you have everything you need for a great holiday. Geoff has great local knowledge and contacts and a mention that you are staying with 'Geoffy' will get you 10% in restaurants and on boats. We cannot recommend this place highly enough, just hope too many people don't find it so we can book again next year!!

Can,t stop thinking about our time spent at Villa Ivy.Really special memories that will stay with us forever.Wish we were back on the balcony of "mountain" apartment with its breathtaking views, relaxing with a nice glass of wine and freshly picked figs.
Everything that needs to be said about Villa Ivy ,has already been said. All that I would say is if there is somewhere better to go for a holiday where your every need is catered for, then please let me know.
Good luck to owners Geoff and Helen. We will return!

After all the rave reviews on Tripadvisor we were very much looking forward to our holiday and the week we spent at Villa Ivy more than lived up to our expectations.

Geoff and Helen did everything possible to make our holiday one of the most wonderful and relaxing holidays we have ever had.

We stayed in the mountain apartment, which was beautiful and clean with a fridge stocked with fresh salad & homemade dressing, milk, ham, cheese and juice when we arrived. There were supplies of everything we needed - teabags, coffee, bread and a basket of fresh fruit. Every morning we woke to a fresh loaf placed outside our door.

The apartment was great, with a comfortable bed and long balcony overlooking the pool, with lovely views over the mountains and to the sea. The apartment had everything- from a hairdryer to beach towels. There were also extras you usually wouldn't find in a holiday apartment - we were pleased to find a coffee maker and even a dishwasher. The villa itself is beautiful and clean and we loved the pool, which we often had to ourselves.

Geoff and Helen invited us for a welcome drink once we had settled in. Geoff also offered to walk down to the village and showed us the best restaurants where he has negotiated discounts for guests of Villa Ivy. We spent a nice hour or two in the little Bellvue bar (which I highly recommend) if you find it, while Geoff filled us in with lots of info. We soon felt that we had been in Cavtat for more than a few hours.

Cavtat is a perfect little coastal, lots of nice restaurants, and the proximity to both the airport ( about 10 minutes away) and Dubrovnik (about 25 minutes by bus) mean that it is ideal for a relaxing week away. Although the villa was up the big hill out of the town we loved the location. It takes about 10 minutes to walk down to the centre and we always got the bus back up. The buses are so timely and frequent that the hill was not a problem at all.

Overall a wonderful holiday with perfect hosts. I wish that I was back there now!

I had the pleasure of visiting at Villa Ivy with my partner between 8 – 15 August 2010.

We stayed in the mountain apartment with its stunning view of the mountains and bay area. There is little I can say that hasn’t already been said about Geoff and Helen’s hospitality, from the moment they pick you up at the airport in the ‘Yag’ (sic) to being left back at the airport doors for your flight home, nothing seems to be too much trouble for them.

From the original orientation of Cavtat (including introduction to the wonderful Bellevue Café) to the arranging of trips, car hire, restaurant booking, bus timetable etc nothing is left to chance.

Never overbearing but always available thanks to the loaned mobile ‘Geoffphone’ to help in any way.

The Villa itself is incredibly clean and well presented. Including all the home comforts that anyone would require whilst on holiday. The pool and surrounding area is spotless with stunning views and is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the sun. I can not think of one single compliant I can make about the Villa, and I think that reflects greatly on the experience which Geoff and Helen try (and succeed) to deliver to every customer.

The location is quiet but within easy walking distance (10 mins) to the stunning village of Cavtat. Its all down hill thankfully, and in our week there we managed to avoid having to partake in the dreaded walk uphill back to Villa due to the regular bus (every 30 mins approx) which stopped on the road at the entrance to the Villa and cost only 5 Kuna (approx 60p).

The same bus goes directly to Dubrovnik and is only 30 mins away and costs around 15 Kuna. The bus journey is stunning although at times the return bus can be very busy, but again the views will take your mind off anything!

I would have no hesitation in recommending a stay in Villa Ivy to anyone. If everyone had Geoff and Helen’s view on customers service the world would be a much more convenient and better place.
