“Very nice place”
Reviewed 11 June 2013

Went here for 3 nights and the place was great. We had the shuttle from the airport and everything went fine. We had the bigger room, because they didn't have smaller ones free. Great kitchen ja big bedroom. Clean and nice.

The owners were wonderful- they offered juice and cake when arriving. When it was raining, they gave us umbrellas and some homemade brandy :) Also got some great tips from the owners that what to do.

Would really recommend this place, but the steep hill is very steep :) Be aware :)

We've just left cavtat and villa anka after 5 nights. The area has a great selection of places to eat, albeit similar in style menu, all just a short walk awat -5 mins down the steps, 8 up! :-) Our friends stayed at hotel Croatia, which is both large and contemporary, but opted for something more local. Anka welcomed us upon arrival with cake and a refreshing drink, showed us to our enormous apartment and left us to our own devices. No hassle, just utterly relaxing. The villa is basic but had everything you need, with a lovely view too. If I went back to cavtat, I'd choose here.

Stayed here for 10 nights and couldn't be happier with the accommodation. Anka and her family were absolutely the perfect hosts and we were all treated like family members. The accommodation was basic but clean and exactly what we expected. We had drink and food on arrival and anka family organised transport from the airport. The location is close to cavtat centre however the hill was quiet steep for some of the older members of our group. We got lots of great advice from anka and would def recommend the apartments to others..overall I hope to return in the future and will def stay there again

We found this an ideal guest house for a short stay early in the season, a short taxi ride from Dubrovnik airport but located with a magnificent view above the centre of Cavtat. Facilities are excellent. The apartments are very reasonably priced and contain large, clean, airy rooms with separate kitchen and basic cooking facilities. The owners can organize a taxi service to and from the airport. They were extremely helpful in providing travel directions at the time of booking and all necessary information on arrival. We were greeted with a welcome drink and sweetmeats and made to feel free to ask for anything we needed.
The house is a few minutes walk uphill from the town centre with bakery, supermarket, banks and fruit and vegetable market all located close together. There is an excellent choice of restaurants. Even in April the town is luxuriant with foliage and flowers with an aura of jasmine. There are frequent bus and boat services across the bay to Dubrovnik and on the basis of our experience I would strongly recommend to anyone proposing to visit Dubrovnik but preferring a quiet location as a base to stay in Cavtat, not least because the town has a number of interesting museums and monuments of its own.

I spent just one night here at the end of a trip to Croatia and Montenegro. If I had been here earlier in the trip I would definitely have wanted to extend my stay. The location was excellent, walking distance from the bus station, up hill, but easily manageable. A family run place with friendly and helpful communication by email to help me plan my journey and find the place. When I raised a concern prior to arrival this was swiftly dealt with and nothing was too much trouble. Welcomed on arrival with a cool drink and beautiful home made baking. The apartment was well equipped for a longer stay, with good kitchen and dining facilities. The elevated position above the town gave lovely views over the bay. The town had a good number of places to eat and drink even in low season, and showed promise of more about to open when the season got underway. It offered a lovely break from the hassle and bustle of Dubrovnik but the chance to reach it by public bus very easily if you wanted. When I return to Croatia in the future I would chose this place for my main base. Cavtat is on route from the airport to Dubrovnik so good for airport transfer. This service was provided by the owners at a competitive rate.

My wife and I wanted a one bed apartment in Cavtat with a panoramic view.
Villa Anka is sold as such and we booked for seven nights.
Our one bedroom apartment was above a garage and small car park.
We looked over the roof of an unfinished building.
There was no panoramic view at all.
The bathroom was strange. The toilet was next to the bath so you had to climb past the toilet to get to the bath and the shower above the bath.
It was very dangerous to step in or out of the bath.
The family who own the apartment were friendly but it did not compensate for the lack of a panoramic view

  • Liked — The harbour town of Cavtat is very beautiful
  • Disliked — The discription of the property was misleading
