“Amazing Stay”
Reviewed 10 October 2013

One of the best stays I can think of among all the places I have stayed. Hotel décor is very impressive and the staff goes extra mile to keep customers happy. We were wishing a better view from our room and on requesting staff politely changed it after a day.
Both the restaurants give amazing service. Overall a very good experience and will definitely will visit again

On our arrival, late evening, we were sure we'd made the right choice of Hotel, everywhere was spotless and the room was lovely. The next day we explored the resort which is very picturesque and very accessible and friendly with lots of restaurant's bars and shops.
However as the week went on we became quite disappointed with the Hotel, it lacked something we could not quite put our finger on. 'Soulless' was our feelings, mealtimes were very boring, you were asked to sit at same table each evening by way of a post it note on your table with your room number on, no interaction with staff. The meals were bland to say the least, no menus were ever issued. The last straw came when we shared the breakfast time with 'suits' from the Hotel who were served fresh made hot breakfast to their table right in front of us and again in the evening with better food than we were offered. Mealtimes became a time when we felt we were inconveniencing the Hotel by being there.
A real shame, as it is a beautiful building in a beautiful location.

We stayed at this hotel in Sept 2013. Excellent décor in hotel and bedrooms, except for glass door on bathroom which had gaps all round it and no handle or lock. You have to know your room mate very well to ignore this fact.

We felt the buffet was very poor and did not match the standard of the hotel. Very limited choice at dinner.

We had a room on the front and every night we were woken in the early hours by young clubbers shouting and screaming as they came out of the night club down on the beach next door. We should have had a room at the back. No wonder Saga have pulled out of this hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are quieter.

I booked this hotel with a friend based on previous reviews. I was disappointed.
On first inspection it's modern and clean but impractical.
The central tap on the bath juts dangerously out. My friend bruised her thigh badly on the first day. Beware.
The shower is fabulously powerful and lots of hot water.
The basin has no plug and the water doesn't run away due to poor design but looks nice. You have to scoop toothpaste etc away towards the hole with your hand to get rid of it.
There's a 2 inch gap in between the glass bathroom door and glass bathroom walls so not for the shy.
Nice t.v. The news was in English.
Information for Brits is minimal. We were told by the rep it's because few Brits stay so it's geared up for Germans (as are the food and the trips out). There were several Australians there also.
On the subject of food, little choice. Some sort of fish every night, pasta or a chop or escalope. The sweet was usually a pastry or a pot of yoghurt. Definitely not 4 star fare.
Book carefully. We paid through Thomson for a twin room with a sea view and balcony. On arrival we had been upgraded to a junior sweet which was actually a room zoned in 2 halves consisting of a king size bed facing a t.v and a bed settee facing the other way behind the t.v. We were told the only other room was pool facing - which we took because the beds were facing the t.v and set out more sociably but not worth the money paid as we were on the same floor as the pool which was noisy. No sea view.
The rep said we are not the first to complain as others had been sold twin rooms with balcony and sea view which do not exist in the hotel.
To summarise I would not return. Last year we went to Cavtat near Dubrovnik at hotel Cavtat and although there were no frills the experience, ambience and attitude of the staff was far mor conducive to a relaxing holiday and very good value for money.

Just had three nights here with our four year old, husband and my parents. Great modern hotel and very clean - in fact we are so impressed as the whole of our stay everywhere has been extremely clean...and I am a clean-freak! Back to Hotel Osejava. We had a corner suite (room 412) which was very spacious and allowed a very large King bed plus a single for our daughter. Bathroom very modern and nice however there was a horrid smell which never went away-smelt like blocked drains. The cleaning lady put a piece of wet toilet paper over the grill so they are obviously aware there is an issue. It was really unpleasant and we had to use our scented travel candle. Disappointing.

Breakfasts are okay and there is quite a wide choice. It does the job.

I had a pedicure at the Spa which was very good and on time - the girl did a great job so try it out. We had lunch there in two occasions and the prices are very reasonable compared with some of the other restaurants in the centre. Food was very good, hence our return. The other restaurant we enjoyed was Riva and we dined there twice also. The waiter, Ivan, was outstanding. Best of our whole stay so far.

We managed to get free parking right outside the hotel for our entire stay so were very happy at that although the hotel can accommodate you. Hotel Osejava is worth staying at and you won't be sorry.

I stayed here with my husband for 2 nights in July 2013, and we were very impressed with the overall feel of the place. The ambience and decor are beautiful, with lovely soft furnishings in the room. We were overlooking the Port with such a stunning view of the promenade shadowed by Mt Biokovo, we didn't feel like we were missing out on the bigger balconies overlooking the pool. To gain this amazing view, the hotel is on the opposite side of the Port to the main town area and beach, but the walk is hardly a chore. The only improvement I'd like to see to the rooms is a walk in shower - with such large bathrooms it feels like a real shame to have the shower over the bath.
To comment on the parking situation, while there was limited free parking we found the hotel staff to be very accommodating with allowing us to double park, and they moved our car as necessary. We also had a very early checkout and the hotel packed up two breakfasts for us to go, a service I have not seen anywhere else before.

It's been recently refurbished and the decor beds linen and everything is very cool and modern. The curtains over the balcony were very annoying and not necessary! It would be best if they were removed, as there are shutters to block out the light anyway. The bathroom was lovely but we found the lighting too subdued to be able to see. There were no renovations taking place when we were there, they are all finished. The views are super and we had a room on the top floor looking back to the town. It feels all very relaxed and the staff were all helpful. Breakfast not very exciting, and the signs about removing food from the restaurant are very old fashioned and unnecessary . The one thing that is bad is that they say there is parking but you have to pay for it and its under the hotel, so we felt the charge is fleecing. There is parking out the front that is free, however not many parks, perhaps parking for 20 cars. We did manage to find a free one however and just stayed in it for the 2 days.
