Stayed here one night and was very happy! Friendly staff, clean rooms, great view, right on the beach! The fact that it has a parking garage too helps a lot! I knocked it down to 4 because you can hear your neighbors.

What a star Svetlana on reception is. She immediately made us feel at home, very friendly & welcoming, as were all the staff who are a great asset to the hotel, nothing was too much trouble for them.

This hotel, in my opinion, after spending 5 nights here absolutely deserves to be No.1 in Makarska. There is nothing I would change, the location was perfect within a few steps of the beach as well as shops, restaurants & bars.

For anyone not very mobile it really is perfect, the promenade which runs immediately outside of the hotel is very flat & nicely paved. There is also a tourist train which runs along the promenade into the town centre, whilst we were there in July it seemed to pass approx every 30 mins, you can flag it down anywhere along the route into town. A single trip cost 20 kuna & a return trip 30 kunas, the last train leaves the town centre approx 10 pm.

Our room 107 was spotlessly clean, very comfortable, well furnished & maintained. The bathroom had a large double shower with a plentiful supply of hot water. I'm glad we decided on a sea view room as you just can't beat waking up to a view of the ocean, our balcony was quite small but still plenty big enough for a table & 2 chairs as well as the airer supplied for drying towels etc on just bring some pegs.

You can hire sun beds & a parasol for 120 kuna per day from a beach attendant or make use of the free padded beach mats from the hotel, there's even beach towel hire from the hotel @ only 10 kuna a day.You certainly won't go hungry on this beach either as there is a constant supply of people pedalling everything from corn on the cob, doughnuts & strudel to a guy who brings his boat laden with fruit to the shores edge!

There is much competition from the plethora of restaurants on the doorstep of the hotel but we found the quality food from the hotel restaurant along with a 10% discount for hotel residents to be excellent. Breakfasts were very good too, along with the usual buffet they would provide omelettes, scrambled or fried eggs to order -lovely.

I would definitely return to this hotel & have no hesitation in recommending it to other travellers.

Room Tip: If you choose a sea view room it might be better to go higher than the first floor we were on for sl...

Excellent small hotel on the beach front. We stayed here in June for 11 nights and I could not find fault with anything about the hotel. Everything about the hotel was perfect. The hotel reception staff were so friendly and helpful, they couldn't do enough for you. The meals were very good and we also received 10per cent discount because we were staying there. Rooms were a good size and spotlessly clean. The only thing which wasn't good during our stay was the weather but there are plenty of places to visit around the area. We caught the local bus into Split and Omis, reception staff told us where to catch the bus and also gave us timetables, both places worth a visit. We also went on river trip in Omis and it cost us a lot less than the organised tour. We also visited Brak and Hvar but actually preferred Makarska. We will definitely return to this hotel and resort at some time in the future. Just one more point the resort is very flat and would also be perfect for anyone with walking difficulties or using a wheelchair

Room Tip: We stayed at the side of the hotel because we wanted a quieter room but we would be quite happy to s...

Stayed here in mid June for a week and can't recommend highly enough. Rooms are spotless and very clean, its only a 10min walk to the centre of town but Far enough away from the main noise so rooms are nice a quite. The people who run hotel are always friendly and say hello. They deserve the right to be number one hotel in markaska.

We stayed here one night traveling up to Split. We wished we stayed in the city and the hotel another day. The room and hotel was very clear and orderly. While it was hard to find, it was actually in a very convenient location, right off the beach. As an added plus, they also offered parking at a reasonable cost, something you'll need if you drive into Makarska.

Service was also very warm and friendly.

This is a top rated Tripadvisor hotel and worthy of its high rating.

The Maritimo Hotel is a 6 year old property located right on the beautiful beach, but just far enough away from the busy zone to make it a very pleasant spot to relax and enjoy great views of the Adriatic. Rooms are spacious, decor is contemporary, all rooms have a terrace and a generous breakfast buffet is included. Take a walk down the beach front promenade all the way east - you will see the whole bay, then you will enter a pine woodland with some ancient ruins, and end up on a second bay where the main marina is situated. It's a great way to work up an appetite for breakfast. Dinner at the hotel was also very good. Prices are reasonable.
Makarska is a lovely place to visit in Croatia, and the Maritimo will not disappoint.
