This hotel is all about location, location, location. Set in the heart of the national park with only a 100m walk through the forest to the entrance to the walks etc you have to forgive any other shortfalls. It is all very basic but with handling dozens of tourist buses each day ( we were travelling independently by car) I think they cope very well. As were were out walking in the glorious park most of the time the hotel was adequate for us.

This hotel is so big and has so many groups that is it very impersonal. No WiFi in the rooms is very annoying - you have to always have to go to the reception area.
The food wasnt bad. The hotel is very well hidden in the trees so its not visible from the lakes at all. The thing that amazed us was that there are so many trees around but VERY few birds.
The room was clean but also just the basics. No tissues just soap and shampoo.

Room Tip: Its not the sort of place I would go back to - its too big and impersonal.

The hotel just sucks. The place is completely dated, we arrived with twin beds (had requested a double), the shower is tiny and the shower doors were broken and hanging from a hinge. The bedding was horrid. The rooms were tiny. The service rude.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel as part of an Insight tour and the only good thing about this hotel is location.

It is well situated with very convenient entrance to the National Park which is the primary reason for visiting. The problem with this hotel is that due to limited choice in the region they can over charge for a very poor product (they outline the hotel costs in the hotel information pack).

On arriving at the hotel it was 40 degrees Celsius (104F) and we were informed by our tour guide that there was no air conditioning. Thankfully the rainforest location made the hotel a bit cooler to be just comfortable.

The hotel is a bit of relic. It is very old with a large lobby area and dining area downstairs (which was quite hot in the heat). The rooms were no better with old beds in need of replacement and a very old bathroom. To make matters worse there was no window our room so to keep it cool we had to leave our balcony door (on ground level) open the whole time which I didn’t feel overly comfortable with.

We had both dinner and breakfast at the hotel. For dinner as a coeliac I had a separate soup to the rest of the group which was inedible – I would describe it as a stock cube in hot water. We had fish for main with vegetables which was acceptable and ice cream for dessert. I would describe the food as worse than hospital/airplane food. Breakfast the next day was much to the same tune and I had very limited choice and stuck to the canned fruit on offer (the kiwi fruit was not ripe). My husband reported that his hot buffet breakfast was not much better.

We stayed in the hotel for 1 night which was more than enough time spent there however for the location it was good to get to the national park. Although I would not recommend a stay at this hotel I don’t think there is much choice in the region. For the amount they are charging they need to do some renovation works.

Being a National Park there are only a few hotels in the park. The Park is superb and this is the reason for visiting.

Hotel OK. We stayed for 2 nights as part of our bus tour. Not much choice. Note: no air conditioning in the rooms. There is heating. No fridge in a lot of rooms. One of our tour group had a fridge. Room OK, nothing special. We had a balcony facing the forest so nice outlook. Some face the car park with no balcony.

Breakfast OK but crazy with the number of tour groups that stay there. They close off part of the dining area for breakfast making it hard to get a seat.

No other eating places in the national park so dinner was a set meal included in the bus tour. Not too bad, although it seemed as if they swapped our sweet on the second night for dodgy warm grapes.

WiFi only in reception and bar. Can be slow when every body trying to use it.

I had an issue at dinner the second night. You pay for your own drinks at the end of the meal. I believed I was short changed. Waiter would have none of it and called a manage who was not the least bit interested in my story and simply backed the waiter. Make sure any waiter does not put your money in their purse before they give you change. Marred good day walking the lakes.

Stayed for 2 nights as part of a GoAhead Tour group. As others have written, it's a large hotel, only one inside the park, and, as Rick Steves says: has the accommodations of a Holiday Inn." However, given their large number of groups they accommodate, they do a good job of handling the crowds. Big breakfast/dining area, big lobby/bar area. Breakfast was plentiful and OK. A la carte dining in the evening was good, except service was Croatian-style (not so good). WiFi only in the lobby area, but that includes the bar, and the bartender was very attentive, so we give her high marks for service.
