We arrived at this hotel to find that our travel agent had accidentally booked us into the hotel of the same name in Slovenia. Beware traveler, the Slovenians asked for one night prepaid and wouldn't refund it. The folks here said they had heard this story before.
We got a room nonetheless and quickly hit the park. You couldn't have it any easier for access. The food is adequate but the bill for dinner took forever to arrive. This happened to me every dining location in Italy and Croatia. I know Americans are impatient, but if you are done, and say so, and you ask for the check, can it come in 5 minutes please! Anyway dinner was better than breakfast quality wise as we love fresh fruit and it wasn't that. The staff were helpful to us though and the prices were fair given the location.

I found this hotel to be exactly what we were looking for - comfortable, peaceful and perfectly located just next to the entrance of the National Park. We booked a suite (it was all that was left) and it was very renovated and modern. Our view was spectacular, the hotel restaurant wasn't super fancy but frankly just what we needed after a day of hiking, and they even have a small bowling alley, pool table and ping pong table. There is a gym and small swimming pool, which was perfect for our 3 year old. They also have a small children's room for young kids, although without that many toys. Overall, I found it lovely, cozy and very nice for our family vacation. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: The suite has a separate living room, dining area, two bathrooms and wonderful views of the lake. T...

Great location for touring the park. Good, decent food - and selection. Accommodations - clean. And really, that's all you need. Would certainly recommend this hotel for ease of touring the park on your own. Only real draw back for us was the walk to and from the hotel from the bus stop. It's not a bad walk, in general. However, with 2 large suitcases and 2 carry on bags each, the walk back UP to the bus stop from Hotel Jezero left my husband fuming, sweaty and 1 wheel on 1 of the suitcases busted - it melted from being pushed along the side of the road, in the gravel. There really is little shoulder to walk on. Had I realized the extent of the walk, I probably would have booked the closest hotel to the bus stop for that convenience. OR, did a round trip excursion from Zagreb which would have allowed us to leave our suitcases there and later would have taken a direct bus from Zagreb to Split. (Bus to Split - bus was early. Drivers spoke little English...we weren't sure it was the right bus. AND you have to buy your tickets on the bus. Hopefully you can find seats together.)

The location is wonderful! It's in a National Park. The Plitvice Lakes National Park is amazing.
Don't expect a 5 star hotel.. I did a travel agent inspection of this hotel. They have flat screen TV's. My balcony was facing the lake and I could hear the falls. There's a mini bar, Free Wifi in Lobby only, ATM machine, fitness room, gift shop, sauna, no pool.
The bathrooms are not senior friendly. Big high tub/half glass panel/no grab rails-water goes all over the floor & good chance of killing yourself getting in & out of the tub.
Very noisy when other rooms use the shower.

The breakfast was not good. Very limited. No fresh fruit, yogurt was runny, no egg station, lots of starches, bread & rolls. The staff didn't serve, they just hung around..like the food police.
The employees were not friendly at the front desk, especially the night shift clerk.

We spent the night here while visiting Plitvice Lakes National Park. The hotel had the look and feel of college dorms, and although the rooms were adequate and clean, it felt cheap and in desperate need of updating. Our room was especially unusual and had a living room, a bedroom, a balcony, and two bathrooms...all of which had industrial carpet and mismatched furniture. Again, our room was very clean, just out-of-date. The restaurant on site again had the look and feel of a college dining hall, but the food was good and the staff attentive. Despite the hotel looking and feeling like it stepped out of the 70's, the location is unbeatable. After breakfast, we literally walked out the back door of the hotel and we were at the trails that wind around the lakes. We would absolutely stay here again because you can't beat the location if you want to visit and enjoy the beauty of lakes and waterfalls. Although the hotel itself was average, the location was EXCELLENT, which is why I rated it "Very Good".

Perfect location just near the entrance to the Plitvička jezera National park.
It's rather a big hotel, but calm and quiet. Friendly stuff. Good service, what is not typically for the area :-)) Vi-fi, good choice for brecfast. Bus stop is near.

It's in a great location!
But.. was told by receptionist that there would be a 1055 bus to split when I checked in, but when i checked out at 1015, was told the next bus would be at 1350hr! I would have made it for the earlier bus at 0945 if I had been given more accurate information. Perhaps they need to understand that in this low season, we are highly dependent on the few buses that bring us out and giving us more accurate information would be extremely helpful.
