Very good trip - we only had time to go to Entrance no.2, parked the car, then about a 15 min. walk to get to the "bus-train" which takes you to the top, from where you can walk down through the woods, passing many lakes & waterfalls. The walk down took us about 2 hrs taking many photos as we came down.

We joined a local tour from Split, the place we stayed. Long journey to the national park but the scenery was spectacular. Didn't have time to walk through the upper lakes (which probably will make up the star I didn't give), but water in the lower lakes were as clear as crystal and waterfalls were amazing. Good place for photos, taken a lot of photos with my friends!

One of the most beautiful places ever. Nature has formed it perfectly, it has wonderful views, diverse flora and fauna. What's also interesting, how professional the construction of trails are. You can't get closer to mother nature than here. Trails are also created in a way that somehow wonderfully you don't get tired after 6 hours of walking, and no trace of muscle fever the next day. There is total lack of souvenir shops and herds of people wanting to make money out of it (unlike everywhere in Transylvania where you find huts selling stupid things blocking the actual view and sights) It is also extremely clean. We only found one piece of litter and it had also been collected by the time we got back to the spot. There are a lot of tourists but they seem to respect this wonder. Anyway, nevermind the tourists, there are many trails where you can avoid them, the whole place is unbelievably huge.(give yourself a whole day for the visit so you can take your time and fully enjoy it)

You are not going to see the neat stuff, e.g., water falls, flora. You waste time waiting for and riding on the boat (especially if you start out at the Gate 1 landing). There are great hiking opportunities in the park. If you wait until after 2 or 3 most, but not all, the big touring groups will be gone. So during the prime times do some hiking (you can be sure most tour guide avoid those places). The middle falls (across from Gate 2 entrance) didn't seem to have as many large groups.

Marvelous views, great walk. We walked about 10km.
Took incredible pictures.
Beware that you'll take pictures different from the sky view very often found on internet, but they'll be incredible anyway. I advise checking weather conditions before programming the tour.
