House Lana is excellent. Unlike most rental properties in the area it is away from the main road so incredibly quiet, peaceful and secluded. It is located about an easy 10 min drive from entrance 2 to Plitivice lakes, At the end of the lane is a most fantastic restaurant, Vila Velebita, which seemingly never closes and the food is excellent, plentiful and affordable- 2 course meal including drinks about £25. The nearest town is Korenica which has all amenities including a supermarket and fuel. We flew to Split and the drive up was easy and well signposted (Zagreb is closer). Vedran and Aleksandra met us on arrival with a cool beer. They gave us lots of information regarding the area- especially the Lakes, and also arranged for us to Kayak with a friend of theirs. The house itself is a good size, clean and comfortable with lots of outside space which they have equipped for children (trampoline, football goals etc) and adults (hammocks, sun loungers) alike. The beds are comfortable and the sitting areas clean and spacious. The kitchen is adequate for small meals- it isn't really geared up for mass catering but this said the restaurants are affordable you don't really need to spend time cooking- we used it for light lunches and snack dinners if we had lunch out. Although there is no air con it isn't necessary as despite temps of 32 degress outside the house remains cool at all times. Vedran and Aleksandra checked on us daily (either a visit or a text) to see if everything was ok with us and the house but were not intrusive. We would thoroughly recommend House Lana and plan to return ourselves again.
