Agree with previous review weloveholidays040. Excellent location, staff good. Air con fantastic & stayed on when not in room. Buffet style food catered for most tastes and good for the 3 star rating. Hotel drinks cost reasonable. In town you can get a massive delicious pizza for a £5 (seek out locally frequented bars/cafes in the side streets). On the sea front great for sea breeze, people & yacht watching. Snorkel shoes essential for sea bathing.
Only negative - our room size was extremely cramped (ie unable to open minibar). It had good view but woken every morning 6.30 by restaurant prep just beneath.
Overall a good holiday, we would stay here again albeit in a different room.
Cost guide; main meals £5-10, local beer (0.5L) £2.50, glass wine £1.30, coffee £1.20, icecream £1..

We stayed at the Park Hotel in May for two weeks - had a lovely room facing St. Katherine Island (where the music was!). Music was loud if the windows were open, but when closed it wasnt a problem. Hotel management gave basket of fruit and drink as an apology for the noise even though it was no fault of theirs.
The hotel staff were pleasant and helpful, food was good with plenty of variety. Evening entertainment was limited - but with such lovely surrounds who wants to stay indoors.
The animation team is another matter - cheerful, friendly, good with all age groups - dont miss out on archery , shooting - or even Natasha's floral walk!
We would definitely recommend this hotel.

The view of the town and harbour from the hotel is without question fabulous. I would agree that the experience of the hotel is probably enhanced by a sea /town view from your room, as we had, but the dining room/bar and pool areas all have this, so unless you spend a lot of time in your room......Watching the sunset from the balcony of the bar was a favourite pastime!

We went half board and found the food to be very good - with a buffet, there is always the tendancy to think the food is the ''same'', but with wild boar and liver on the menu while we were there, the chefs obviously do try to do something different. (It's ok there is pizza and pasta for those with a plainer palate). Service was very good and the waiters, whilst working very hard, take the time to have a conversation with you (if you want one).

There are plenty of bars and restaurants in the town, and a lovely 10/15 min flat walk along the harbour to get to them. Think the hotel owns the couple of bars/restaurants underneath it on the Lungomare, and these serve good food too.

Reception was spacious, and the staff friendly. The whole hotel was VERY clean. Our room and bathroom was on the small side, but absolutely fine and again very clean. For the first time ever in a hotel, the airconditioning in the room was fab at night. i.e. not too noisy to have on at night (essential in the heatwave we experienced), nor did I wake up with a stiff neck in the morning!

Plenty of sunbeds available and more umbrellas in the store if you ask for one, we enjoyed the view overlooking the marina. The outside of the hotel could probably do with a bit of a facelift, but if the rumours we heard are true,( that at some point they are going to pull the hotel down and build a new one there), then we want to go back before they do it !! At the moment we think it is very good value for money for the location, cleanliness and friendliness of the staff.

We travelled to this hotel with a 6 month old baby, this was our first family holiday and first time to Croatia. The hotel is in a perfect location, only a short walk to the town and spectacular views of the marina. Nice swimming pool and sunbathing terrace, although the water was a little cold for the baby so we used the indoor pool each day for a swim. The rooms were large enough to accomodate a travel cot and were air conditioned, bathroom was clean and modern although, we found the sides of the bath were very high to get in and out for the shower and the water trickled out the showerhead and the bath tub wasnt big enough to sit in for a bath.
We were half board and the food was very good, although perhaps a bit repetative for breakfast, but catered for everyone and there is always the option for a freshly cooked omlette. Waiters were very helpful and found us a highchair each time for the baby.
There are activities on each day in the hotel archery, shooting, boat trip and walks all free of charge. We tried out the archery which was good fun.
This hotel is a 3*, but we visited two of the other Maistra 4* hotels during our stay and I feel Hotel Park was the better hotel!
There is a supermarket (only open in the morning), a cash point and a couple of restaurants just below the hotel on the lungomare.
If travelling with a baby to this hotel I would recommend that you take your own travel kettle for making up bottles as there wasnt one in the room and we found a jug very handy for taking around with us to request hot water to heat a bottle.
Would reccomend the day trip to Venice, if you havent been before its a great opportunity to go, although I would book it in the town under the clock tower rather than with the tour opporator, as it is a lot cheaper for the same trip. We also took the boat over to Red Island and hired a pedalo boat and also did the Fish picnic boat trip, would recommend both.
The beaches in Rovinj are shingle not sand, so I would suggest getting the scuba shoes for going in the sea, they sell them everywhere around the town and in the gift shop just below the hotel.
We loved Croatia and the Park Hotel and will certainly be returning again!

Just returned from Rovinj - location of this hotel is excellent and the views of the marina and town of Rovinj amazing but you must have a sea view room - disappointing views from the rear rooms of the hotel - pay the difference it's worth it. We were on half board and food very good - good selection at breakfast and dinner and always very tasty. hotel and rooms spotlessly clean at all times - and the resort of Rovinj is within 5 to 10 minutes walk. Go to Restuarant Delfin for light lunch - 5 minutes max walk - staff and food very good we went all 7 days! Pedro the boat tours seller stands near here - he was very friendly and helpful even when not selling you trips and strike a bargain with him on the prices. Hire bicycles to explore the whole area - lovely scenery, bays in all directions the bikes can be hired for £5 for 4 hours right by the hotel. Watch out for the cocktail bar up the alley near the church - great for sitting on cushions watching the fish swimming under lights in the sea but the drinks were 3 times the price of anywhere else in the town!! We only had the one and left! Climb the church tower - but be warned the steps are steep and narrow so good shoes estential and a steady nerve but the views from the top are amazing - go early though as it gets very hot by 11am. Would recommend this resort and hotel to anybody -- would love to go again in the future. 2nd visit to Croatia - Makaska Riveria last year and think the country lovely - so unspoilt and how the Mediterraen should be - can't wait to visit again.

Stayed at Hotel Park between 18th and 25th May 2010. Went for a quiet relaxing holiday to celebrate silver wedding anniversary.

For the first few days all was well. Room was small but right at the front of the hotel so it had a great view of the marina and the old town.

Then, on Friday 21st May disaster struck. There was an all night rave nearby and the music was so loud we got no sleep. The rave didn't finish until 5 a.m.!

We asked the hotel manager and the rep what was going on and it turned our there was a three day Spring Festival in the town with all night raves on all three nights and all at different locations.

Later in the day the rep assured us that it would be OK because it was moving to a different location. That night was slightly better but we still had disturbed sleep.

The next day the rep reassured us that, again, we would be OK because the final night was going to another location and we wouldn't here a thing. She couldn't have been more wrong!

The final night was the worst of all. The music was so loud that we might as well have been at the rave ourselves!

So, out of a seven day holiday we had three nights of no sleep. Not exactly relaxing.

We complained to the rep at the time and they did nothing. We have complained again since we got back and are waiting for things to be resolved.

So, you have been warned. This is a good hotel in a fantastic location but, before you book, check and double check there are no festivals going on at the time you want to go.

Have just returned from a week at the Hotel Park, Rovinj. This has to be the best located hotel in Rovinj. The views from all the public rooms including the swimming pool are amazing. The hotel was clean, the food excellent and the staff attentive. I would recommend this hotel without reservation and will certainly be returning again.
