“Nice for a pleasant walk”
Reviewed 16 June 2014

Easy to get to and a pleasant place to walk around, this small island which is five minutes away from Rovinj by regular boat, is worth a visit.

It takes about twenty minutes to walk around the island which is heavily wooded and pretty. There are a number of rocky beaches where, on a warm day, you can go swimming. The island also has one large and attractive hotel . Walk through and have a look at the stunning pool.

For a few hours to spare this is worth a visit.

“Wonderful, not crowded, great views of Rovinj”
Reviewed 1 November 2013

If you take a boat trip, take it to Katarina island. We did this economical trip 3 times during our 3 days in Rovinj. It costs substantially less than the glass bottom boat excursion and is a superior value. There are ruins on the island, a great small museum, an observatory tower, a hotel, and an outdoor restaurant. We spent about an hour on each visit, and enjoyed the boat trip and the island so much that we did the trip 3 times. there is a walking trail thru the greenery, and many types of shrubs and plants. There are spectacular views of Rovinj.

The island is beautiful, green with fantastic sunset. The beach is OK and the sea is clear. You can reach it by boat for free.

“Sunbathing away from the crowds”
Reviewed 12 August 2013

Take the little ferry from Rovinj and then wander to the back side- away from the hotel. Craggy rocks are a bit of a bother BUT once down in a flat area you will likely have the area to yourself. Water is cool, clean and uncrowded. AND breeze-- sooooo important in the summer heat. We packed a picnic and made an afternoon of it!

“Lovely place for a swim”
Reviewed 9 August 2013

We took the short ferry ride out (15 kuna each way) just to have a change of scene and to get some nice views back to the old town. There is a nice place to swim near the ferry landing point on the south side of the island, with a sloping jetty down into the water with a hand rail that takes you into waist high water and you just start swimming - good if you don't like standing on pebbles or boulders as you have to do at most bathing points. There is also a floating platform that you can swim to and jump off. We hired sunbeds for 20 kuna and spent a very enjoyable morning under a big pine tree watching the boats going in and out of the harbour, before having lunch at the nearby snack bar. Ferry returns to Rovinj every hour and lets you off at the main square or the marina.
