“Nice area--but deserted in February!”
Reviewed 22 February 2014

Took boat from Fazana; was under the impression that something on the island would be open..nope! Enjoyed roaming the island, but definitely not worth visiting unless it's tourist season. Interesting to see the 50's buildings and learn where Tito made his summer home...visit in June!

“Brijuni/Brioni islands are an Arcadian place in the Mediterranean”
Reviewed 15 November 2013

We were a whole day there and took a golf car to visit the main island Veli Brijuni.
It was an unforgetable romantic experience to visit this fantastic island, the meadows, the deers, the excavations of Roman and Byzantinic palaces and of course to see how Tito spent his time there too.
A additional special point to see is a small bar just nearby the elephants where only fine classic music is played (but not loud!!) and a perfect waiter (Marko) is too there.
Best point to relax with a good coffee just mid of your tour.
You can see there the indegenous beef from Istria, the Boskarin, with is a giant compared to an ordinary beef! And zebras, various goats, ostrichs and .... and last but not least some nice aras, which will try to talk with you when in a good mood.
We felt as if we were in a arcadic surrounding 1000 of years ago.
The traces od dinosaurs on the coast are impressive, worth to go the short walk there.
Over all a place worth a travel.
Take your night before or after in Fazana from where the boats are leaving alsmost every hourto Brijuni

“Great nature”
Reviewed 28 September 2013

Brioni islands are truly amazing and a jewel that needs to be cherished. Visit the roman ruins if you can. The golf course is very specific and most similar to links although quite tough to play in wind. The hotels however are sad, 3 stars overpriced socialist environment, kind staff in a deteriorating environment. Hopefully some of the major hotel chains will buy it soon and create a decent place to stay and enjoy your vacation. Would recommend it for a day trip or a round of golf, a weekend max.

“Only for Tito's fans”
Reviewed 19 September 2013

Island itself was a bit of disappointment. All we could see there was a museum with some dead animals (weird) and dozens of Tito's photos, some very old olive tree, botanic garden and safari where the most exotic animal was zebra (there were some deers, donkeys and goats too). On the bright side, surroundings with old hotels and villas are nice, and our guide was perfect (though repeating same information again and again as the trip lasts several hours and amount of information about island is limited).

Maybe taking a trip with some of the unlicensed boats could be a good idea as they take you around the islands (they are not permitted to stop in the harbour), give you similar information as official guide and there is lunch included in price :) Anyway, if you'll decide to take licensed trip from Pula, dont buy tickets from the guys in the harbour - in the tourist information center on the main square you can get them for better price.

“Fantastic tour of a great island, will definitely go back”
Reviewed 18 September 2013

We took this trip at the last minute, just barely making the boat on the morning of the tour but were so glad we did when it turned out to be the highlight of our trip.

The Tito exhibits are fantastic and give you a really interesting look at more of who Tito was and the important work that was done on Brijuni especially in relation to international visits.

The train isnt overly exciting but is a great way to see a lot of the island fast.

Its just so lovely to see so much nature in harmony with the people on the island, both the wildlife and the fauna really feel like they have the run of the place and we are just lucky enough to visit.

We definitely have plans now to go back and spend a few days on the island relaxing and taking in more of the island by bicycle.
