This is a great villa with stunning views and has an open and airy feel about it. Everything was clean and tidy and clear to see very well looked after by the hosts.
As you drive up to the villa the first thing you notice are the 4 private car parking spaces on the left just outside for your own use, as we only had 1 car there was plenty of room us.
Up the first flight of stairs and you get to the front door where we were met by Miranda - a really likable, personable and pleasant host. Once in through the front door you have two of the four bedrooms, both with en-suites.
Up the next set of stairs you are into the main living area as shown in the photo's. This had everything we needed to cater for ourselves on the days when we wanted to cook for ourselves. The American style fridge has constant ice and filtered water so no having to buy ice or bottled water - this easily catered for our party. Also, from this floor you have the other two bedrooms, one en-suite and the other has the bathroom right next door to the bedroom door so you could say en-suite but in theory this is the house bathroom as well plus this is where the washing machine is. Also on this floor you have a balcony with 2 large parasols and seating for 8 people around a large table, great for outside dining.
Up the 3rd set of stairs you are onto the rooftop terrace with its magnificent views over parts of Trogir and its harbour. There are 6 sun loungers and we never got bored of that ever-changing view as the boats come and go and the planes flying over to the airport (as the airport is only a 15min drive away). There’s also the swimming pool and jacuzzi which Milan comes to clean most days. He does a great job at keeping these clean and making sure the sunscreen residue doesn’t start to colour the sides of the pool or jacuzzi. Not the largest swimming pool but fantastic all the same as you swim up to the edge to look down over Trogir.
Both Miranda and Milan, although close by never interrupted us and it was great to know they were available should we need them. Texting or emailing we got replies almost straight away without the need to phone. Great knowledge of the local area and always willing to help out.
A few things about the local area - Trogir is beautiful and is the main attraction for this area - very crowded during the day but this soon tails off towards late afternoon as the visitors for the day leave. Plenty of bars to sit outside watch the crowds walk by plus restaurants serving great food. Our actual favourite was a local pizza takeaway called Seven 7. As we walked back from Togir over the bridge onto Ciovo island we would pick up a couple of pizzas to take back to the villa. Not your usual takeaway pizzas, these are restaurant quality but from a takeaway.
Ciovo (the island where the villa is) has a lot of small single track narrow streets, not a problem for us coming from the Yorkshire Dales with narrow drystone walled roads but just something to bear in mind if you are driving too/from the villa. Uber works well if you don’t fancy walking back up the last steep hill section as you get back to the villa – The walk from the centre of Trogir to the villa is about 15-20mins and it’s the last 2-3 of those that is the steep section. Not as bad as it seems and once back at the villa you have those magnificent views and peace and quite of not being in the centre.
Best trip we did for a day out was the Bura Line ferry which runs from Trogir to Split. The ferry part was crammed with passengers but it was such an easy and stress free way to get right into the centre of Split.
