“Loved the Guayaquil Hilton Hotel, is the best in town”
Reviewed 17 December 2005

The high-tech meeting room at this hotel boasts chairs designed to be comfortable for eight-hour business meetings, but the Hilton has a lot more going for it than comfortable seating and an ATM machine that spits out U.S. dollars.

This hotel in the growing Kennedy Norte commercial and financial zone sits next door to the Expoplaza convention center and near the new World Trade Center. It's also close to two banks, less than two kilometers from the airport and nine kilometers from the center of town. Its Portofino restaurant dishes up commendable northern Italian cuisine and its casual Cafe Colon is open 24 hours.

The Guayaquil Hilton Hotel has 294 rooms, including 20 suites, have noise-isolated windows. (Rates start at US$195 with a 430-square foot room on the executive floor garnering US$225 and the biggest suites running US$1,200.) For execs who like to clear their heads with a workout, there's an outdoor pool, gym and squash courts. For other between-meeting pursuits, the Hilton sports a casino and shopping arcade. We just returned from Guayaquil, Ecuador we stayed at the Hilton Hotel located on the business district of Guayaquil new economic center, the hotel is magnificent in fact I had never experienced such good service before, we took all the tours possibles and they were fabulous, it was like a real encounter with mother's nature itself.

We took a walk along the most recent attraction that Guayaquil offers Malecon 2000 this pier just got renovated from the Oxford University of LONDON had change the view completely for Ecuadoreans, the majestic pier almost 2 miles long cross over the whole downtown, this brand new water front offers many places to shop, eat and being discover with the local artisans that have many handicraft to choose from on very reasonable prices.

Only an hour away from Guayaquil, you can find the beautiful beaches of Salinas and Olon, they are extraordinary from Salinas anyone can take a tour to see the whales, they offer cruise every half an hour departs a new expedition to see this amazing whales that cross the pacific on their way to the Antarctic,
if you love the bird watching I would suggest you will go to "Cerro Blanco" only 20 minutes from Guayaquil, there you can find hundred of thousands of bird's species all over.....just make sure to take your cam with You.

If your final destination is the Galapagos Islands, Guayaquil offers most major connections and non stop service to the Islands, its new renovated airport can take you straight to the Galapagos as well as anywhere on the US & Europe most American and European airlines have flights from there.

After a dear friend of us recommended the hotel , we decided to stay there and the service plus the food were simply outstanding. My mother in law was traveling with us, in others countries had made a complain about everything but not in Ecuador. We were even surprise that she loved Guayaquil as well, we feel that Guayaquil had a lot to offer and we decided not to go to Quito due to the altitude problem some people get sick due to the thin air and we couldn't put my mother in law through all that, is hard for her as it is now to catch her breath, if we took her to Quito it was going to be hard on her. But none the less we loved exploring Guayaquil's rich atmosphere and beauty.

We went to the Iguana park and we also loved the waterfront river and it was outstanding to admire such a beautiful scenery.

Keep up the good work, and we will surely go back to the same hilton hotel.

I stayed here one night. I was sick with a flu. I checked in at midnight and at 12:30 a.m. I was woken up by my next door neighbor which had six men drinking beer and being very loud. I contacted the front desk THREE times to resolve the problem and they did nothing at all. I had no sleep that night, and they never offered to move me. Marco was the person at the front desk. The room was ok. They refused to give refund. Finally after contacting Hilton in the US, a compliant was filed. I talked with managment via email and they said they were going to refund me. It has been over a week and the refund has not posted. Becareful staying here. I reccomend the Radisson or even the Howard Johnson. They have EXCELLENT customer service and shuttle to airport.

The Hilton is less than 10 minutes from the airport. The service is good with attention to baggage details.
The rooms are very spacious or perhaps they just seem that way after you have spent time in a tiny cabin while touring the Galapagos Islands.
Bottled water is provided complimentary in your room as it is not advisable to drink the tap water.
The buffet provided at breakfast and dinner is mediocre. Other people traveling with us found that the wait for food in the dining room was lenghty.
The lobby is attractive with a soaring atrium.
Hilton is making security very evident and that is certainly the case in Guayaquil. Security is very obvious but not obtrussive inside and outside of the hotel building.
