“perfect”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 March 2014

We just came back from our trip to Quito and Guayaquil. We stayed at the Ramada for two nights and have no complains at all. The location of the hotel is just perfect.. right in front of the malecon and close to "el parque de las iguanas". The rooms were clean and cool. Best of all is their breakfast buffet... fresh fruit, juice, bread and more! we really enjoyed our stay there.

A one-night stay here to catch our return flight and have time to explore a bit of the city. The check-in staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. Received a map of the city and advice about the highlights to see in our day, as well as areas to avoid. Our room was clean and spacious with a cool tile floor and a large window with a view of the Malecon. The bathroom had obviously not been updated although despite the pink highlights it was clean, the shower was hot and the towels were fresh and fluffy. (As mentioned by other reviewers the hallways have stained carpet and are in definite need of being replaced).
The swimming pool area was clean as was the pool and it was noce to cool off with the 38C temperature outside! When we checked in we indicated that we would miss the breakfast buffet due to our early flight so they arranged fresh juice, fruit salad and sweet buns with jam and butter for our 4am departure which we really appreciated. We also heard the breakfast buffet was excellent from some Argentine guests that we met.
The Malecon area is beautiful and we walked from one end to the other enjoying the raised platform viewing areas, gorgeous tropical gardens, statues and information plaques, as well as the ice-cream vendors along the route. The river is certainly enormous and there were a number of boats along with a lot of floating vegetation.
We walked through the main city market where you could buy everything from soccer jerseys and counterfeit fashions to light bulbs and avocados. Definitely keep all valuables out of sight and hands in your pockets if you have anything cash that you don't want to part with when you're in the market! We visited the iguana park which was enjoyable and we have some great close-up photos as evidence! We also visited the cathedral next to the iguanas which was a cool respite from the heat and humidity. The central area of the city has a number of beautiful buildings and there are a number of information panels explaining aspects of the city's history.
The Ramada was a great base to explore from being right on the Malecon!

Room Tip: If you want a view of the Malecon go for a higher floor room but also be aware that the traffic can...

We had a reservation for a room with 3 beds (one for my son) and when we arrived they could only offer a 2 bed room. The hotel is ok, but my wife left her mobile and her sun hat in the room and when we got back those two items were missing. Also, the hotel (It´s not any hotel, it´s a Ramada) was old and smells bad. I really don´t recomend.

Room Tip: There are no good rooms

Room was clean and the bed was firm. Enjoyed complimentary breakfast buffet. The only negative was the noise in/around hotel that filtered into my room by the pool. Proximity to Malecón and park is good.

Good location for exploring the Malecon. Good service, good breakfast, decent rooms. Clean, neat, and efficient. Good wifi connection in room. Perfect for our transition into Ecuador! Van service located right around corner for our trip to Salinas.

We stayed here as part of a group on the way to the Galapagos where we knew we would be staying in poor quality properties. However, we expected more from a Ramada. This hotel is patially renovated, but the general condition is very poor. Stained carpets, old bathrooms, musty hallways. Wi Fi only works in the lobby but they do have a couple of computers in their business center. There is a nice pool but no one to provide pool towels, or drinks at the pool side restaurant. The location is nice as the river and inspiring boardwalk is across the street. We felt we were cheated by the Ramada name when we were booked at this property.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the back if you want something quiet, as the front of the hotel is on a busy s...

Be aware
while booking this hotel. They might not notify you with your reservation, so that you do an other reservation and they charge no show and charge higher price.
This happened to us. When we arrived to hotel, no one asked if we were with two rooms,
and automatically charged with the higher price. + no show.
With the difference of nearly $250,00 / week.
We used booking.com to to book this hotel.
Who denys any refund.

The personal is nice. Room clean. Airco noisy and far too cold.
Fitness area with no air co and with poor old machines. swimming pool was dirty.

Food was old and at breakfast they serve leftovers from other days conferences.
As for lunch and diner food comes from deepfreezer and from micro wave.
Portions are fair, to the price.
