Brilliant night last night. Would certainly return but we leave Guayaquil today.
Busy, bustling and friendly atmosphere.

I had the fish, prawn and shellfish cerviche in fish broth. Deceptively filling! Loads of fish in the broth, felt like a bottomless bowl. Plantain chips were lovely.

Peter had the fish stew in coconut sauce. He really enjoyed that too and filling.

Good service. Entertainers coming and going. Very friendly and vibrant place.

Two locations opposite sides of the road. We were in the smaller of the two.

Would recommend it to everyone as an enjoyable experience, particularly if you are a fish lover!

We went there for almost all our meals.
The menu is cheap and diverse.
We tried the fried fish, the pan-fried fish, the ceviche, the encebollado. Everything was super delicious and fresh. Till now, my mouth is watering thinking about the dishes we had there... Definitely super recommended!

Although I would never recommended spending a prolonged amount of time in Guayaquil, this restaurant is a hidden gem.

Good service and quality food, most plates are an affordable $5 to $12USD. The seafood platters of shrimp, fish, and oysters lathered in coconut sauce were tasty enough that I returned here the following night for an encore.

La Culata is an oasis amidst the edgy and uncomfortable city of Guayaquil. The prices are reasonable and the food is divine. I ate shrimp in coconut sauce which came with sweet plantains, avocado and rice. My tastebuds were in heaven. If this is packed when you visit just go across the street, where Culata has extended. You will be delighted and full:)
