“Great spot for special occasions”
Reviewed 30 December 2010

This is a trendy spot in the Urdesa Central area of Guayaquil - it has a modernistic asian flair with great fusion food - heavy on futuristic sushi offerings. It also has a hip bar scene with great music and a couple of cool conversation pits. The consulate crowd likes to meet here so you can get a wide range of languages and accents. Overall I have visited Asia de Cuba four times in the last year and I have enjoyed the food each time. The food is actually priced pretty reasonable as $10-$15 per person can get you a fine dinner - but the drink prices are high and it is not uncommon for the drink tab to be double the bill for the food.

“Beautiful setting. Nearly all good dishes”
Reviewed 27 August 2010

3 of us went on a Wednesday evening during a business trip. The setting is beautiful, relaxing and refined. The place is definitely stylish enough to be in New York or L.A. and the menu was varied fusion, with good variety.

We enjoyed 3 appetizers: Octopus Mao Tse Tung, 3 ceviches, and a general appetizer platter. All were very good.

2 of the 3 entrees were excellent: the Lomito Asia de Cuba is incredibly tasty and perhaps the best version of lomo saltado I have tried. The other entree was AWFUL -- the Corvina Samurai was terrible! The fish was fine and the vegetables side was good, but the "sauce" was like strawberry syrup (the kind you might find over ice cream!). A very unfortunate choice. Stay away from it, but otherwise, enjoy your meal here and make the trip!

“A real find and a must to visit”
Reviewed 23 January 2010

Great food, particularly the Trio of fish. Fabulous! We went twice and the second time was a Sunday, when I think that the second team was working. However, it was still nice. A great atmosphere. There are a lot of poor places in this town, but this one has really great tastes.

“Just an Amazing Dining Experience”
Reviewed 6 June 2009

I recently went to Guayaquil with very low food expectations, I visited 4 restaurants during my stay and it was a pity Asia de Cuba was my fourth one. Just after getting dissapointing experiences in other restaurants I arrived at Asia de Cuba. The food was out of this world, the service was perfect and the decor was the best I have seen. I would highly reccomend the seafood there, it was really fresh and combined with sauces I have never tried. This restaurant lifted my food perception for Guayaquil
