Good place to spend time in Otavalo. Located downtown, close to places you can walk around. They take your car to the parking lot so you can just enter the hotel. Service is very good. They always ask if everything was ok. The best choice in Otavalo if you want to spend a day.

Room Tip: Ask for the spa.

Just back from Ecuador. Arrived Friday afternoon in Otavalo ahead of Saturday market. Hotel Indio Inn is well-situated for walking around. Not to be confused with Hotel Indio (or was it Hostal Indio?); that one is right on the plaza for the handicraft market -- which is an advantage if you want to duck in and out of the market; but I reckon Hotel Indio Inn is more comfortable and better appointed inside. Not much in the way of atmosphere but fairly new, clean and well run, with helpful staff. Room itself not spacious but big enough. (Rooms ring an interior courtyard.) The market itself was so-so. We had been to a similar one in Guatemala, which in fact had a more "authentic" feel. My advice if going to Otavalo for the Saturday market: Spend Friday night there so that you can witness the Saturday morning animal market (in fact that's what made our visit worthwhile). You should get there before 7 am to get the full flavor. We took a $1 taxi ride from the hotel and after spending an hour or so at the market walked (downhill) back to the center via the food market (which was also more interesting than the crafts market).

On our way through the Otavalo Market, we crashed for lack of breakfast and lucked into the unpretentious, clean restaurant attached to the Hotel El Indio Inn, which featured authentic Indio food. We slid gratefully into a booth and ordered churrasco and our own favorite tea. Delish protein to start the day. Would come back anytime.

Really nice hotel .Excellent location .Extremely clean ; Big room with 2 excellent beds , hot water , big towels, TV .Absolutely nothing to complain about .I liked the fact that it was so so central and still very quiet at the same time and i did appreciated the litlle courtyard just as if your room had its own garden. The staff was very nice and helpful and I appreciate to have someone speaking english fluently . That was extremely helpful . THere is the nice restaurant MI Otavalo just 5 doors up and some internet café just 3 . I would recommand it highly

Good enough for one night. So close to the square. Outside our window and overlooking the street they were setting up at 4 am, if not earlier, for the Saturday market. Could not be helped the noise of the temporary stall shelters being erected - part of the market atmosphere I suppose that you can't capture in photos.

Hotel in the town center, somewhat more expensive than other hotels in the area, is however a nice place to stay at. For internet access the two computers available were outdated, and wifi access was complicated as we tried to use our own. Rooms were clean and well designed. It was a very enjoyable stay with a friendly and very helpful staff. We would go back any time.
