We ate several nutritious meals at Cafe Pachamama and enjoyed them all. The restaurant is very clean, staff attentive and hot foods served hot. We especially liked the breads and in the afternoon lounged on the lovely terrace eating superior guacamole with chips, washed down with beer. Recommended!

We were staying at the posada del quinde so the excellent breakfast of fruit, freah warm bread, homemade jams and fluffy eggs was included. However the quality and service was so good we ate lunch - fantastic soups and sandwiches and dinner- amazing enchilladas and chicken casserole.
You don't need to be staying at the posada to enjoy the food- the safe is a welcoming place for all.

The restaurant has great organic food with a variety of cuisines. The free breakfasts were wonderful with eggs made to order with the amazing warm fresh bread, fresh fruit and juices. I had several of the sandwiches and soups for lunch and dinner. I especially enjoyed the tuna salad with a whole avocado and the taco soup made with love. Another time I had a cucumber salad with the best tasting yogurt salad dressing. The wonderful food, great service and the cleanliness of the restaurant made this my number one choice to eat in Otavalo. The outside eating area is amazing with all the gardens surrounding it.

We had the good fortune of staying at La Posada del Quinde which happens to have a restaurant called Cafe Pachamama that is open not only for breakfast which was included in our room, but also for lunch and dinner.
During our five days and nights in Otavalo, we continued to enjoy dining at Cafe Pachamama. The food's not only nutritious, but is delicious, well-presented, fresh, and organic as well. What a find after having traveled five weeks in Peru and Ecuador!
The setting is lovely: garden to view in the morning, the patio at lunch if one wishes, the dining room with an inviting, crackling fire in the evenings. We love the staff and their smiling, attentive service.
Maggie Reniers, proprietor, makes all her guests feel welcome and is there to answer questions, visit, and inform.
When one walks down the streets of Peruvian and Ecuadorean towns, one sees lots of deep-fried, fatty foods. This isn't the case at Cafe Pachamama, although the French fries are fantastic there, and they also make a really good hamburger. Just wonderful, clean, healthful, delicious food, including great soups and salads! Don't miss it!

The cafe serves delicious full breakfasts with fresh fruits and juices, organic brewed coffee, fresh baked bread and tasty eggs. For lunch and dinner soup, salad, and casseroles are tasty, well spiced and beautifully presented. The atmosphere is lovely with plants and textile wall hangings throughout the dining area and women wearing native dress graciously serving the guests. Beautiful garden full of hummingbirds can be seen through the windows. A great place to hang out for a drink by the fire and to meet other travelers.
