my bf and i travelled here about 2 years ago and have not stopped raving about it - to each other and out friends. the setting is phenomenally beautiful and relaxing. looking over the mountains and volcanoes as you are looking out of your room is nothing short of breathtaking. further, we loved hanging out with the owner and her partner and sharing wine, stories, food and adventures. they are an amazing resource and will do anything to make you feel welcome and to enjoy your trip. we cannot wait to return!! highly recommended for couples or groups.

I am sitting right now, looking out on the incredible mountains of the Ecuadorian Andes. Casa Mojanda is a gorgeous hotel in one of the most beautiful locations in the world.

It is so peaceful up here, there are rolling mountains and volcanoes to the horizon and everything feels right! From the moment we got here we have been welcomed with incredible service from Humberto, the food is some of the best food we have had in nearly 15 months of travel.

I cant say enough about the food, most of it is grown here in their lush garden and as vegetarians we have never been so looked after, 3 meals a day!

We have had two turns in the outdoor Japanese bath that overlooks the valley, once at sunset which is a heavenly experience.

The rooms are gorgeous cabins with luxury hotel style bathrooms and massive windows in each room so you can open your eyes in the morning to the mountains.

This place is very very special and we will definitely be back!

Room Tip: I saw inside a couple of rooms, and I have a feeling that they are all gorgeous. They all have views...

We highly recommend Casa Mojanda for lodging in Otavalo. Fascinating building architecture and art work. The cabins are comfortable and clean with stunning views of the lush mountain sides, volcanoes and cattle grazing in a distant field. Very peaceful. The food is superb and the staff are friendly and provide great service. They have great connections for day trips or you can do some local hiking and horseback riding. We returned from day trips feeling like we made new friends. Take time for the massage in your cabin if you can. Enjoy it all- the space, the views, the food and the people. We certainly did.

Room Tip: Small inn with varying size accommodations to fit the number of people. All the facilities look cozy...

Location is peaceful, and very close to the famous markets in Otavalo. Very "laid back" and relaxing, after our travels to Galapagos and Quito. Hiking, horseback riding, and visits to local attractions, all arranged very inexpensively by the inn's staff. Best was the food ... each meal prepared fresh from on-premise organic garden, starting with fruit smoothie made from different Ecuadorian fruit! Fireplace in each room, library, games, beer & wine available.

Room Tip: Ask for a mountain-view room.

Casa Mojanda was a great weekend escape from living in Quito. My husband and I went there on a Saturday morning and left on Sunday. Diego, the owner was gracious. The cabins were beautiful and the food from their garden was outstanding. There was good hiking all around. Our only regret was that we didn't have more time there.

Room Tip: All the rooms were away from the main house so I would think they would all be quiet.

At 11 pm after an 18-hour travel day, one of the inn's owners welcomed me into the enchanting dining room and then personally served enchiladas mole made with fine, dark Ecuadorian chocolate... and it just got better from there. Casa Mojanda is breathtakingly beautiful. You will be hard pressed to find better food than what is so lovingly prepared there, and special diets are accommodated from the organic garden. There are also many nearby opportunities to immerse yourself in nature and in the cultures of the Andes. But it is the warmth and care of the staff and owners that will soon make you feel that Casa Mojanda is your place, too.

Room Tip: I was in what they call a "dorm" room, which was a beautiful private room with bath and in...
