Description: This terrific little espresso bar is right in the middle of Otavalo on Parque Bolivar. It serves the best coffee in Ecuador and fresh baked cupcakes and pastries every day. If you're lucky you'll be there when the zucchini nut bread comes out of the oven. It is served warm with whipped cream. The rum cake is like heaven on earth and worth savoring. There is a private garden behind Daily Grind where you can sit at tables and enjoy the flowers.

“Good coffee right on the main plaza.”
Reviewed 21 July 2014 via mobile

This place is probably insanely expensive by Ecuadorean standards--you can get a four-course lunch in some places for less than a coffee here--but, if you're from a place where good coffee is the norm, the sound of the espresso machine alone is enough to make you rationalize the cost of an iced espresso. The employees are friendly and speak some English. They directed us to the Plaza de Ponchos, which we somehow missed the first time.

“Wonderful cup of coffee! GREAT staff”
Reviewed 13 July 2014 via mobile

We've been travelling in South America for 3 months now and, as some of you might know, the standard coffee here is instant. This westernised, true coffee machine with hot milk and coffee menu did not disappoint. The local coffee was delicious and they also sell local james and spreads for US$5.50.
Fantastic for all those travellers missing their homeland coffee!

“Best damn coffee in town! ”
Reviewed 13 July 2014 via mobile

The coffee here is incredible, rich and strong. We came here purely on trip advisor comments and I highly recommend you also try it. We had cappuccinos and expressos that flashed me back to Italy. The coffee here is consistently so good. You can get take away too!

They have a few products for sale including jams, honey etc plus cupcakes, crepes, bagels. The service here is awesome they are so friendly, happy, smiling and it's quick! They only have three seats but it's just off the Plaza Grande a beautiful Square so you can sit and enjoy your coffee there. They also have wifi available. You can't come to Otavalo without having this coffee!

“Not Seattle coffee, but pretty darn good”
Reviewed 20 June 2014

I was going through caffeine withdrawals and spied the Daily Grind in the center of Otavalao. The coffee was good and the hot chocolate was sublime.
