I stayed a couple nights and enjoyed (needed) the fireplace. On the second night several people in our party could not get their fire to stay lit and/or got their room full of smoke - the wood was probably too wet. I managed to have a great fire and enjoyed reading in my room. The room was large with a beautiful view. Definitely get the staff to light the fireplace for you. The matches as small and break easily and there is no kindling.

Room Tip: Make sure you have a fireplace as the evenings are chilly.

Very nice rustic inn on a beautiful lake. Our room with fireplace was a good size. Other parties on our tour had smallish rooms without a fireplace. Boating on the lake is available. The food is good but not great. Service is good.

The hotel is set in beautiful surroundings with cabins overlooking the lake there is a variety of birds in the area so be prepared with binoculars it is quite difficult to stop looking out of the windows when we arrived it was rather chilly so we lit the wood burner in our cabin once the fire got going it did warm up but if you have any problems one of the staff will light it for you very cosy to sit and enjoy a pre dinner drink our cabin was number 8 which was up a flight of steps we had breakfast included and is freshly cooked to order dinner was very nice the dining room is
quite cosy it was busy during our stay but it was the weekend so we had to wait a little while not that it bothered us we were not in any hurry

Room Tip: higher floor cabins have nice views

I liked very much this place. It is a little bit overpriced, but the service is very good, food is not the greatest but it is fresh and good tasting, and the scenery is wonderful. Great place to stay with your spouse or significant other. Very quiet during the night, you will get a good night's sleep, although you will want to light up the chimney because it can get a little bit chilly during the night. It is just a 10 minute drive away from Otavalo, and around 30 minutes to 1 hour away from other lakes in the area.

The bad things first: the rooms are cold. There is a fireplace, but it doesn't warm the room for more than 30 minutes. Smoke gets into the room from it as well. The rooms need to be renovated. They are outdated. The carpet is in bad shape, too.

The good things: the scenery is beautiful right by the lake. Also, the gardens are well-kept with lots of flowers. From your room you will have a beautiful view of the lake. The restaurant is ok and the staff is friendly. The hotel is close to Otavalo where you can do shopping at the market.

We stayed in this hotel for one night as a part of the tour group. The hotel is located in a very scenic location on the bank of San Pablo Lake surrounded by rolling hills. The property as well the landscape is well maintained. The rooms are very charming with log cabins, working fireplace, clean bath rooms and hot water. The service was excellent. In the evening it got cold and we had someone from the hotel start the fire place. The dinner was reasonably good. The continental breakfast in the morning was simple. We enjoyed a walk of the property.
