Whenever we pass through Riobamba on road trips from our home in Cuenca, we plan to stop at El Delirio. The setting in an historic home is fun and enlightening in itself; the comida tipica we've had has been quite good; and the service has been as well. We especially love El Delirio's aji (the condiment offered by most restaurants in Ecuador), the best we've ever tasted. To El Deliro's vast credit, they gave us a pint to take home with us, which we've been carefully doling out ever since!

While visiting Riobamba our friend suggested trying this place based on other reviews he had read. It was great. The place is well located with convenient parking. The entrance is gorgeous and the decor is fabulous throughout. Our waiters were extremely helpful and the menu was bilingual with lots of great choices. Absolutely delightful.

The original house used to be the home of Simon Bolivar. The restaurant was very cosy, having a log fire in one corner, and nicely decorated with plenty of pictures etc. Garden to the front when entering. Very good selection of food, plenty of fish and meat dishes. Nicely cooked and presented with excellent service. Good location in the old historic area.

The place looks very nice but I can not accepts that the every person (10 ) got served with almost a delay of 10 minutes, This causes us all to eat almost for seperated.

When I saw that you could eat at Simon Bolivar's home I did not even bother looking for another place. This is history and it was important. The service was a bit slow but I enjoyed looking at the building. The serve popcorn as an appetizer in Ecuador like they serve chips and salsa in a Mexican restaurant. The mixed ceviche was delivered as shrimp ceviche but it was extremely good. For the main course we had burgers and fries ( even though they had a pretty good evening menu----only $3!!! If you visit Riobamba eat here once so you can touch history.
