Typical Egypt 5* hotel/complex. The Park has access to the beach and the rest of the hotel complex - it is massive and the Park itself is a small part of the larger Mirabel Complex.
We were on the ground floor with a large room however it was close to the sewage tanks and being 40 degrees walking past it wasn't pleasant! We stress that you can only smell this walking past and every hotel has this small issue, just because of the heat. You can't smell it the minute you walk into your room and shut the door.
The bar staff at the pool learn your name and order very quickly but it's amazing how responsive they are to Brits who learn a little of the language. Also a tip I got from someone I know who visits Egypt every year - take lots of pound coins with you! These are a better tip than the small value of the Egyptian pound and if you leave £1 on your bed every day you'll come back to a spectacular sculpture made of towels!!
The food was excellent, though on the smaller scale of a typical Egyptian Hotel. However no issues with the food at all. I think people are suseptable to upset stomachs as being used to maximum temps of under 20 degrees and going to a country double that - of course your body need to adjust!!! Drink lots of bottled water and NO MATTER WHAT don't eat ANY salad or fruit. That way you will/should be fine.
The pool area was very clean and towels supplied. Twice daily the childrens 'entertainers' turned of their mad music and stomped around the pool looking for volunteers for water polo and stupid childrens games - no wonder they never got any volunteers!! This was mainly aimed at Germans/Russians who seemed to like this kind of thing.
Maybe it's just us - we wanted to lie at the pool in peace and quiet!
Overall a brilliant hotel with attentative staff but pay a little more and you will get 5* instead of our 3+*.
