The hotel was fantastic we had a truly wonderful holiday made very special by the best staff we have ever come across at any hotel. They were so helpful and friendly. Our First Choice rep Samy was outstanding, very quickly sorting out any little problems. He was always around when we needed him. My son and his girlfriend have since booked for March 2011 on my recommendation.

I have just returned from spending 11 days at the Royal Grand Azure with my partner and I have to admit that this is an absolutley amazing hotel. As soon as we arrived at the hotel, we were made to feel very welcome by all of the staff that we met. There was no rush and panic that you get when you arrive at some hotels and we were encouraged to relax in the lobby area whilst we completed the registration sheet. We were then shown to our room by one of the bell boys and what a room we had! This was the most spacious hotel room i have ever stayed in, with a lovely large balcony with a view of one of the many pools as well as the sea. A short while after we arrived at our room, our backs arrived as we didnt have to carry them ourselves!
With regards to the food, it was alot better than we had ever imagined due to people writing negative reviews about it. IGNORE THEM!! We ate the standard restaurant every meal time as there was a huge choice of food available, all prepared to a very high standard and was absolutely gorgeous!! We never felt the need to book in the a la carte restaurants as we found the food to be faultless. So much to choose from with the evening meals themed to different countires every night! I particularly enjoyed and felt reassured by the presence of the chefs in the restaurant and interacting with us at meal times. The waiting staff were absolutely brilliant, efficient, friendly and very hard working. Special mention must go to Mohammed (2480) who always looked after us, is a very friendly man and was a pleasure to get to know. He is without a shadow of a doubt the best employee at the Royal Grand Azure and and who always made us feel very welcome and made sure that our glasses were always full!
Alot has been said about people getting upset stomachs - not once did my partner and I get ill here! If you practice basic hygiene practices and wash your hands and dont drink the tap water you will be fine!!
If you want a nice relaxing holiday then the royal grand is for you! I for one was happy that there is not much night time entertainment because thats not what we wanted in our holiday!! Peace and quiet!! We found the lobby bar to be a very good place to relax in the evening and SAMIR was always on hand with another drink before we asked for one!
All in all the royal grand azure is an amazing hotel and well worth the five star rating it has earned due to its amazing attention to detail of the staff and management!
Without a shadow of a doubt we will be returning to the royal grand azure in the future as we thoroughly enjoyed our time here!

We wanted a last minute getaway & decided that the Royal Grand Azure was the place for us to enjoy a week of just relaxing & enjoying a week in the sun. We arrived to a warm greeting from the reception staff & check in was a breeze. We were escorted to our room which was located right by one of the 7 pools & very close to the beach & restaurants. Our room was the best we have ever had on a holiday. It was spotlessly clean with plenty of extra luxury touches including bath robes etc...truly five star.
All the staff were fabulous, the man who cleaned our room, Said, was always happy & constantly asked if we needed anything to make our stay better. We asked for extra coffee & which he delivered in minutes. His towel art was also very beautiful. We sat mainly in the same place in the buffet restaurant & were served by Hazim who again, was very efficient & friendly.
The food was beautifully presented & there was an abundance of choice. Our only complaint would be that some of the food was a bit bland, there was not any flavour to some of the dishes, especially the desserts. Speaking to other guests, reps, guest services, the management are aware of this but need to do something about it.
The beach was clean & safe. It was quite windy on a few days but we were built a wind break of other beach chairs by the towel man, which was appreciated. The sea was fantastic & the fish were out of this world. We went snorkelling & saw loads of different species, all of which were beautiful.
We would highly recommend this hotel & we will be going back later this year.

We have just returned from a great week in a SuIte at the Royal Azure , Sharm El Sheikh. The weather was wonderfuland we are sporting great tans.
The staff could not have been more helpful and courteous and they are really helping to turn this Hotel into one of the best in Sharm. The layout of the Hotel is very expansive and has beautifully designed two and three storey complexes in wonderfully maintained grounds.
The buildings and grounds are very thoroughly cleaned and maintained by a welter of Maintenance crew and Grounds staff. No detail goes unnoticed.
I had read and heard some minor gripes by one or two ( and it is just a few ) about a lack of variety when it came to food. This is quite astonishing! There are 5 different restaurants - International , Egyptian , Japanese , Italian and Indian - how can this not be varied? Some Residents expectations are wholly and totally unrealistic. What a lot of them mean by ' variety ' is Findus Pancakes , Pot Noodles , KFC , McDonalds and Fish and Chips. In their place none of these are a ' wrong choice ' ( actually Findus Pancakes and Pot Noodles are both shockingly bad ) but to expect this to be laid on in at an International Hotel leaves me speechless. We witnessed whole families eating omelettes for every meal because they alleged there was no ' variety'. Get a life and get a palate!
The food was all wonderfully prepared , using fresh ingredients, containing fresh herbs and spices ( where appropriate ) and laid out in the most attractive presentations.I had the privilege of talking with the Senior Chef and although I wouldn ' t begin to compare my cooking skills ( I cook using fresh ingredients and imaginitive dishes each day at home for my Family ) with his he and I had very interesting conversations about ' his Team ' and their food and dishes. My wife and I are privileged to be able to eat out too and have also travelled widely - we regularly visit the South of France - and many many of Royal Azure ' s dishes would be on a par if not better than some of Park Lane ' s eateries or The Riviera ' s restaurants. I kid you not - its just that the whingers have no perspective. They think Kerry Katona and Iceland are the last word in cuisine. They were also often people who smoked and drank to excess ( its a free bar ) and surely this leaves you with little or no palate anyway. Go to the Costas they do Fry Ups on demand there!!
We were waited on by excellent staff - the waiters are very attentive , polite indeed good fun and have a great sense of humour ( so well done Hommad? and Moustafa ).All in all a place I thoroughly recommend.

Fantastic!!

Dont know where people have been before to say this is not a 5*??? This place is absolute paradise....From the minute we arrived until we were on the transfer back to the airport it was brilliant, we even got waved off when we were leaving!!

The staff in this hotel are the hardest working i have seen, nothing is too much trouble. We had 2 weeks and that was not long enough! We ate in all the al a cartes but the main resturaunt is great, wide variety of food, and some of the staff are hilarious.

The hotel itself is beautiful, lots of pools and the boys that look after the gardens are doing a great job they look lovely.

All in all a fab holiday and would not hesitate to recommend to friends.
Thanks to all the staff.

This hotel was fairly new, so everything in good condition. we stayed at the beggining of March and it was mainly full of British people, there were some people there on last minute bargains as a result of the troubles in Cairo, and sad to say although this was a 5* star complex as soon as prices dropped it reflected in some of the guests, who shovelled food on their plates like there was going to be a famine and were not aware what cutlery was for!
The food was generally very good, not on a par with some of the 5* hotels in Dominican, but a good choice, in the main Zodiac restaurant, it is buffet style, breakfast choices were crepes/pancakes freshly made, omlette egg station, salads cold meats, cheeses, cereals, juices, every type of toast, fresh fruit and the pastry section was amazing.
Lunch and Dinner aways had a good selection, and did also cater for those who still thought they were in the UK and had to have chips and a burger. There was always a good choice of fresh fish, and a pasta station and lots of choice if you were a vegetarian.

There were four ala carte restaurants, Chinese, Italian, Indian and Egyptian. All meals cooked by the same chefs and served by the same waiters, who were rotated throughout the different restaurants. The food and service was good but not something you would rave about and deserts in all the ala carte left a lot to be desired, but it did make a change to sit in quieter surroundings and have waiter service. A tip you are allowed to use each on once during your stay, but you have to get them booked almost immediately you arrive as they fill up quickly.

The resorts amenities were very good with 11 swimming pools, jaccuzi, water falls and pool bars for snacks and drinks. The snacks at the pool bar were not the best and consisted of toasties and french fries. For the more energetic there is a small health and fitness centre. Massages were being offered in an outside area by the the pool but I thought these were a bit pricy and started at £35.
There is a courtesy bus available to take you to Naam Bay free, however those desperate for a pint of beer and a jacket potato only have to cross the road to the Union Jack pub, with English owners and nightly entertainment. There's a few rows of local shops outside the hotel but not a great deal. Taxi are reasonable from £5 to £10 and best booked in the hotel.

On the plus side there was no skimping on drinks and these were available all day and evening. Entertainment was mediorce, but then the resort was not full, so may be better later in the year.

The hotel had its own jetty which went out past the coral reef, we saw lots of colorful fish without going scuba diving.

Overall this hotel is only 20 minutes from the airport and represents good value for money.

We were upgraded to a suite which had a sitting area with flat screen TV , walk in dressing room, bathroom was very spacious. All rooms and suites have their own terrace or balcony.

We stayed at the Royal Grand Azure in March for a week and had a totally wonderful stay. We booked last minute so didn’t really have much chance to review all the hotels in the area, so went on a lucky dip basis. So glad we booked here though as I can honestly say that out of all the hotels within Nabq Bay this was by far the best looking and from other peoples comments regarding food, came in the top also. The rooms were spacious, clean, modern and well maintained. On arrival our fridge didn’t work but within minutes (literally) we had a new one. The staff were very amiable and happy to help with whatever issue you might have, efficiently and without fuss. The pools (I’ve lost count how many) were maintained daily and spotlessly clean, though very cold apart from one heated one around where the water slides were. The beach was not overcrowded with loungers and free of rubbish and constant supervision of the corals/jetty was good. The food quality was very good as I have stayed in other AI hotels in Sharm and their buffets weren’t a patch on the one here. Plenty of choice, replenished constantly and very fresh. There were also 4 A la Carte restaurants available, Indian, Chinese, Egyptian and Italian, these were also very nice and not overbooked/overcrowded. You do have to book your tables at these restaurants as soon as you arrive as they get booked solid fairly quickly. They will accommodate requests for special foods or requirements and it was my partners birthday whilst we were there, so they made him a birthday cake and brought it out. There was no sign of any trouble whilst we stayed there as a result of the political unrest, and in fact there were excursions to Cairo being resumed whilst we were there. We went with Thomson and our resort advisor was brilliant and even took us cycling on his day off!
The evening entertainment was the only area that seemed to be lacking, but that’s maybe because we were there out of season. As the week went on they seemed to start running some entertainments but didn’t seem to really engage with the audience.
I would most definitely recommend this hotel to anyone as the facilities were excellent and well deserving of the positive rating on Tripadvisor.
