“NICE HOLIDAY!”
Reviewed 10 January 2014

we spent the new years holiday at Rixos and we were satisfied with the room conditions and food. We had a great time as the weather was very good and we could enjoy the sun all day. we had a nice family room near the reception and the pool. The room was very big, clean and the bathroom was also very big. What i liked the most is the fact that the resort is suitable for families and also for couples. there are 2 bufet restaurants, one of them doesn't accept children so it's a good choice for couples. also there is one big pool for children and in the middle of the resort there is one pool (laguna pool) where you can enjoy the sun and fully relax.the beach is very nice and clean. You should definetly go the the a la carte restaurants as the food is very good, better that the bufet. The best one is the italian restaurant where the food was great! The only thing that i didn't like is that most of the families with or without children were very noisy. I have 2 children too, but i always tell them not to make noise because other people really want to relax. Maybe if parents would teach them to make little noise, others would surely relax and enjoy the holiday!

Have just returned from the Rixos having spent Christmas there. The hotel is very good, clean and all the staff really helpful. The hotel and grounds are very large and when full would I imagine be very busy in the summer. Unfortunately my wife and son were unwell during our stay but I have to say that the help we received from Dr Jeremy! was fantastic, he went out of his way to make sure that they were as well possible and even met us when we were leaving to make sure they were OK to travel.

The Spa is v good, my wife wanted to bring one of the guys home with her (hairdresser) - but that's another story! The food was OK but as a fussy eater it was bit of a muchness but if you like breakfast - eggs, pancakes etc then you'll be fine. The themed restaurants were good along with the snacks and ice cream.

In the Zodiac restaurant our waiter was Ibrahim, he was great and looked after us well. The guys at the pool bar were also great in particular Ayman (Init) and Mohammed (Chef)!! Also must mention the gusest relations team, Bella and Megan who were great.

If you are looking for a large, busy hotel with entertainment then you should consider this hotel, but be aware that the down side to this is that it is noisy, lots of Russians and a lot of walking - they do have golf cart shuttle buses so you can get around OK even if you have walking difficulties as my wife has.

If you are a diver look at my review for Pyramid Diving who are on site.

Room Tip: Rooms nearer the beach are further away from the nightly entertainment which is loud!

As with my previous reviews I will start by saying that if all you want to do is pick fault and complain about stuff then take the cheapest holiday you can. You could complain about the firmness of beds or the occasional plane, or even the fact that only one pool is heated in winter. I am not going to. Firm beds are an individual like or dislike. Planes fly near but that means a really short transfer. Pools cold in winter, well no surprise Sherlock. We laid by the pool on New Years day in trunks with factor 30 on. The waiters couldn't have been nicer bringing drinks round all the time. 3 litres of water plus min bar was provided every day in the rooms. The array and quality of food was excellent with the main restaurants showing cctv footage of the chefs at work in the kitchen. Nobody has badgered me despite leaving my details. Welcomed by an English representative of the hotel. Maintenance teams working all the time. The service at The Gala dinner was a bit strange but they were catering for over 1000 people in one go. In summary, a really nice hotel, great staff, great food. Something for everyone here.

Room Tip: The deluxe rooms are brilliant, but there is building work going on next door that creates some dust...

Firstly my family and I have stayed at number one rated on trip advisor hotel in nabq bay which was very good but the rixos wins hand down from the fabulous pools to the stunning beach location and the amazing restaurants the hotel staff are totally committed to make your hoilday a amazin experience at this hotel immaculately clean loads going on day and night or peace and quiet if this is what you require we stayed the week before Christmas for a chilled out hoilday before the madness began back at home the weather wasn't as good as normal so a local shop owner informed us but we still got a great winter tan . Having travelled to loads of great hotels in Europe USA and Caribbean this hotel was one of the best we have stayed in definitely the best out of the four times in nabq bay will be returning back to the rixos and have recommended to all friends family and work collegues should be the number one rated can not speak highly enough of the whole experience nothing is too much trouble for this hotel and all it's staff .

We stayed here as a family of 3 for 7 nights from the 26th December. Upon arrival our first impressions were great, we were sat down, given a drink and someone came to us - no hanging around at reception like at others hotels

We were taken to our room immediately via a buggy cart, it was spacious and spotless with 3 queen beds in block 3 overlooking the main heated pool

The hotel is vast which we liked as meant we had a nice leisurely walk to the restaurants and beach every day. We ate at the majority of the restaurants and they were all enjoyable

The beach is spotless with great windbreakers

We never usually put our daughter in the kids club but the great welcome she got from Omar at the mini disco on our first night meant she wanted to go in and you can watch them on cctv from your room. Omar was just fantastic and welcomed her by name even after just the one brief meeting. The rest our of evenings were centred around ensuring she could get to the mini disco which she loved, this meant we could watch the great entertainment that started after

Outside of the hotel there are a few shops/bazaars which are nice to have a look around

We did a trip with Pyramid watersports for a glass bottomed boat trip (not associated with the hotel even though they tout for business by the pool) it was not very good compared to one we had done before and we only had around 10 minutes looking at the fish and about 90 minutes hanging around waiting for others/travelling there etc so i would not recommend going through them. Others in our hotel went with one across the road from our hotel

I did have a pedicure in the spa but this was terrible, I was promised 60 minutes of pampering but got a quite 30 minute file and polish and a cut toe from him instead, i would not recommend the spa at all

I could not fault this hotel and we definately will be going back, the only reason i did not give this hotel a rating of 5 was that the al la carte meal on NY eve (additonal cost) was farcical, they wanted to serve everyone their meal at the same time but did not state what time people should get there, so we were there for 75 minutes before we got a 2nd course. Upon speaking to the manager he moved us straight to the buffet which was great and promised we he would get the additional charge removed from our room. Unfortunately upon checking out it was still on there and I had to debate with them and hang around for about 20 minutes to get it removed

This however whilst it was a bit of a disapointment to an otherwise great trip would not put us off going again

Room Tip: Block 3 was good, no noise at all

We stayed at this brilliant hotel from 26th December to 5th January. We really cannot understand any negative reviews and after having visited several other Red Sea resort hotels, we had no stomach upsets, no dodgy food or drinks. This is a very safe and friendly hotel and we would highly recommend it.

We were given a huge deluxe room on the top floor in block 3, facing the garden. No complaints at all. The room was clean, comfortable and very quiet, both day and night. The bathroom was also massive with a fantastic walk-in rain shower as well as a bath tub. The toiletries were of good quality and replaced as used.

The grounds and pools are lovely. The only pool that is heated is the main pool which is quite busy and noisy during the day, so we sat by the beautiful lagoon pool and walked (2 mins) to the heated pool for a swim or a visit to the swim up bar.

The Nerfetiti adult only buffet restaurant is lovely and has a beautiful terrace but we only used it for breakfast or lunch, preferring to eat in the a la carte restaurants in the evening. The beach restaurant at lunchtime is also great and in a superb location with waiter service and a good menu.

All of the a la carte restaurants are really nice – no complaints from us. The Guest Relations staff had told us that if we couldn’t get into to a certain restaurant to let them know and they would try and accommodate us which they kindly did on a couple of occasions.

The New Year’s Eve programme was absolutely fantastic. There was something for everyone, no matter what age or nationality. The food in the a la carte restaurants was amazing (8 courses) and would have cost a small fortune in UK restaurants. The band and dj’s were great and the fire and firework show after midnight was out of this world. You really had to be there as words cannot describe the experience!

Finally, there are some lovely British ladies on Guest Relations who will go the extra mile to try and make your stay as pleasant as possible. They genuinely want you to have a fabulous holiday. On a couple of occasions we made some special requests which were sorted out immediately and without any hassle. They are a real credit to the hotel and partly because of them, we will definitely be returning.

In our opinion, this is a fabulous hotel with brilliant staff and service. Please get in touch if you need any info. You will get a true and fair reply from a well traveled couple.

Room Tip: Block 3 top floor facing the garden. These deluxe rooms are huge and on the sunny side of the build...

This hotel is amazing with everything you could possibly want from a hotel and holiday. We went for New Year and everything was first class. The food was lovely and being able to eat and drink good quality food and drink anywhere in the hotel as part of all inclusive is a real bonus. This is not the cheapest hotel you can book but it is the best value when compared to others in Sharm, you get absolute luxury and the best service possible. I really don;t think I could go to another hotel in Sharm as we have been spoiled now. If Carlsberg did hotels they would do one just like the RIXOS.
