Loved the view of the Red Sea, great little private beach, wonderful friendly, helpful & respectful staff, we had a great room, quiet with a nice view of the infinity pool which was serviced daily by Ibrahim who took pride in his work. However the grounds were not kept as well as I have read other guests saying on here, at least not when we were there last week, lots of weeds and over-grown grass and shrubs (I also spotted a couple of staff spitting on the grounds YUK) and a lot of the food was either over-cooked (dry chicken and fish esp from the BBQ) & hard potatoes, lovely fresh salads from the Market Place though and a big choice, although sometimes less is more! Local alcohol seems very weak, we stuck to the white wine which was quite acceptable. Music was a bit of a nightmare as there seemed to be a cacophony going on within the different eating area's all playing at the same time, personally we would have preferred an ambient music playing throughout the resort and then there was the 'children's music time' playing in the main dining area at a time when most people were eating dinner, with the majority being adults, we only saw about 6-8 children involved in what seemed to take over the whole arena!

Came for two weeks over Easter in April 2014, family of 5 with three dd's age 2, 5 and 6, all inclusive.

The family two bedroomed suites are spacious and excellent, with five balcony areas, good kitchen (though unused) with dish washer, oven, large fridge freezer and a washing machine (very useful), three living areas (dining area and table was useful for homework), three TV's and a good dressing room for the master bedroom suite. Solidly built, no noise from suite above; you literally walk out of your door and the pool is just 15yards away.
The family pool is lovely and quiet, virtually deserted (10 people at peak) but has its own bar, a life guard and a towel / shade attendant. It is not heated but we found it fine, it does not have a shallow area (other than the entry steps) - it is 1.4m throughout.
The central pool is heated and has all the activities, music and a toddler pool.
Excellent waiters and all staff service at all times.
The entire site is immaculately clean with constant care and attention (painting, wood staining, gardening etc), any problems are dealt with immediately and thoroughly. The rooms are cleaned well each day, patio areas washed every day, room towels changed every day, nothing is too much trouble for them.
Food hygiene is excellent, variety and service are both very good, we were so pleased with the available choices that we stayed with the main buffet and did not try the a la carte restaurants.
Tennis courts and a very usable quite well equipped gym.
The Children's Volcano club is good.
The staff rapidly know who you are, greet you and your children by name and really make it a very relaxing and pleasant holiday. They work incredibly hard, a 13 hour day (0500 to 1800 +) is standard for them. They spend three weeks in each area before rotating.
We would and probably will go back next year.

Advice
Take and use your own hand sanitising wash for use after touching the buffet self service utensils, staff hygiene is excellent (witnessed on many occasions) but we saw many guests not washing their hands after using the toilet and we suspect this transmits to the self serving utensils. None of us had any stomach problems.

The tiles around the pool areas are all very slippery when wet, walk with care or use appropriate footwear.

Avoid the Russians - the rudest nation I have ever met coupled with the worst parenting skills.

We tipped at the start of the holiday in £1 (= 10 Egyptian). Total tips for the holiday at £10 and went to bar man x 2, room cleaner x 2, pool attendant and two waiters. The service we received was excellent - drinks ready waiting, great room cleaning, desired sun bed spots etc.
Take a travel iron - they will happily provide one as often as you ask but only for an hour at a time the first two they brought us didn't work and it was a bit of a faff!
Take a travel wi fi router for your room. Wi fi in the rooms is wired only and wi fi reption only works in the main lobby. We found internet speeds to be slow. The TV's did have hdmi ports

The airport is just a 15 minute drive away, security is very good, the hotel has discrete armed guards at the main road entrances and again at the hotel (a good 50m away). The whole of Sharm is 'ring fenced' and well protected with visible road blocks and discrete machine gun emplacements on incoming roads. We felt secure and safe at the resort but with three small children had already made the decision not to leave the complex.

Recently stayed at the cleopatra from the 19th-26th April. Upon arrival, check in was great. We were greeted with a smile and there was also a welcome drink. check in was fast and friendly and we got escorted to our room in a golf buggy with a tour around the hotel. Which we must say is gorgeous! the grounds are always well maintained and it has several pools and has quieter areas if you don't have kids. Our room was also lovely, waking up too the sea view every morning was perfect!

Ibrahim the cleaner was a star! he always made sure we were ok and went that extra mile. cleanliness is also fab, definitely no complaints!

only issue would be the food, although we did find this throughout Egypt not just at the cleopatra! its very bland and at other all inclusive hotels offer food for most of the day whereas there are a few gaps between meals here which isnt good when you're on excursions all day. Drinks service is very slow and you may have to ask a few waiters before you get one. However credit where its due we loved the beach grill. Must try the beef burgers and salads!

I would personally avoid the a la carte as the food didn't match up to expectations.

overall we had a lovely stay in a very well kept hotel.

Thank you

We've just returned from our amazing honey moon in this hotel. We had the best time ever, our room was upgraded when we arrived so we had a beautiful view of the pools and the sea! Every day the room was well cleaned by Ehab who was very nice to us and taught us both some Arabic which was fun! The staff around the pool were very attentive throughout the day. The infinity pool is the best if you are going as a couple who's enjoy to relax as it's quiet, if you are going as a family I would recommend the activity pool as they're always running activities there. The food in general was delicious, varied, fresh and filling. We booked the two a la carte restaurants as soon as we could as we read that was busy most of the time. The Felini (italian restaurant) was just amazing, the red sea wharf (sea food) was ok but not the best. The only negative thing is that some of them are expecting a tip from you all the time and which made me wonder if they were nice just because of that. Some nights the hotel has performances which are very fun. If you're going to do any activity such as scuba diving, swimming with the dolphins, parasailing, etc I would highly recommend Desert Rose, we had a really good experience with them always picking you up on time, friendly and professional. Looking forward to go back soon!

Our holiday was meeting up with another family so our travel agent suggested the Family Suites at the Cleopatra. It was exactly the right recommendation as the accommodation was spacious with two large bedrooms (one en suite) with a huge lounge and dining area (not that this was ever used). It even had a kitchen with a large fridge which was kept stocked with water.
There was a pool outside which was almost private - the barman at the pool was excellent and made the children non alcoholic cocktails.
I was pleasantly surprised at the food - a buffet style restaurant was the main stay and there was ample variety and it was well run and replenished when necessary.
All in all I couldn't find any major fault.

Room Tip: The Family Suites were spacious and private.

My family and I just returned from this hotel and it was our first trip to Sharm el Sheikh so we wasn't sure what to expect but went on a recommendation. We pulled up at the hotel which has a long drive , and it looked lovely. The reception area was well presented and a nice place to relax, have a drink and wifi access. We stayed in a family suite which the pictures are a true reflection of....there were two seperate bedrooms, two bathrooms with walk in shower, living area and kitchen (basic equipment but you don't need anything). Particularly impressed also with a washing machine even if it is sad, a bonus with small children. There were three balconies, two of which had pool view (quieter pool). The room was cleaned daily by the same team, who were exceptionally friendly (Saber) and had a great sense of humour with creations each day from the towels!

We spent most of our time at the centre pool as for a family it has a small shallow pool, all the entertainment by the animation team is there and a centre pool bar with a holiday atmosphere. Mohammed and Ahmed looked after us each day for drinks . Hani (the pool service rep) looked after us every day, arranged our beds and chatted so we knew him very well by the end of the week. If you want excursions the reps come round by the pool for this and the on site spa. We were unsure to start what we would like to do but in the end everyone was happy by the pool with friends they had made and chilling so thats where we stayed.

The Food - its ok and typical of all-inclusive. We managed to find something at breakfast and lunch but the buffet we felt got mondane and meat quality is below average but this is personal opinion. The seafood restaurant was fine but limited choice. Out of eight nights, we went our for four which included:- The White Elephant - Fab!!; Hard Rock Cafe - Good atmosphere and know what you are getting; Fresar - local and excellent food (fish) in old market ; Soho square - defo worth a visit and good choice of restaurants. The egyptian show in the hotel was our best night and a fantastic show. Even if we went out we always returned back for drinks and a bit of the entertainment which we all enjoyed.

Drinks are ok and again typical of all inclusive. As a wine drinker I thought the white was fine and managed to drink it all week! Ahmed in the Pilli Pilli bar makes the best cocktails at the hotel with local spirits and juices. The bar is run well and we were always looked after by him, extremely attentive and friendly.

Overall although the food was a little disappointing we had a fab time, the resort and grounds are beautiful and well kept. The staff friendly and we met other guests which we spent time with. Having had such a good time, we would definitly consider returning to the hotel even though we would venture out some nights!

Room Tip: As a family I am so glad we had a family suite with two bedrooms and bathrooms. They are located alt...

Just returned from a 10 day trip to the cleopatra luxury resort and it was simply beautiful. The food was lovely theres something to chose from every night. Mainly the pasta station is where i ate! The desserts are amazing, i simply loved the little pink fluffy cake with cream in the middle. The room was kept clean although our cleaner was strange. Room 1023. He would come and knock on our door everynight and ask if our room was okay which got annoying because he just wanted more tips from us when we already tipped him 70 egp. Mohammad at the pool bar with his umbrella hat was wonderful always keeping us refreshed with drinks. Now for the animation team! Carla, ecko, chipsy and kelly are all wonderful. We loved water polo!!! Also have a new love for pingpong thanks to them! Thanks for making our holiday fun and hilarious!
We are looking to return to the cleopatra very soon!!

A small tip, becareful of the eyptian staff making up stories for more tips. For example theyve just had a baby, they go back to cairo the day you go home, or a fantastic one, a little boy cut there foot and had to have 6 stitches because of the glass you dropped and that he had his wages halved. So just be aware!!
Much love
Ella and luke x
