Cleopatra Luxury Resort Sharm El Sheikh
Ranked #10 of 33 Hotels in Nabq Bay
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 14 August 2014

Went for 10 days this August with 2 teenage boys. We had rooms 6115 which was on the ground floor and 6206 on first floor both overlooking infinity pool.

The good things:

Resort very clean and well maintained
Staff were great - friendly and good service throughout the resort
Snorkeling to Ras Mohamed National Park trip and quad biking were excellent value for money
Hotel Doctor was excellent and sorted out my son who became dehydrated
Spa gave excellent massage
Italian and sea food restaurants were good.
Snorkeling off pier was great

The less good things:

Had to get up early (before 730am) to guarantee getting a sunbed as people were putting towels on sunbeds and disappearing for hours
soon got tired of the food in market place (except breakfast which was great)
No wifi in bedrooms (nb you can plug a PC into socket using ethernet cable)
Wifi in main reception very slow particularly in evening
Not much going on for teenagers in the evening

This was my 4th trip to this hotel. Had a fabulous welcome as always from staff and management team. Nothing was too much trouble. Asked for a particular room on e mail before i went and had exactly what i asked for.
The animation team had changed somewhat but they still made you feel special even if you didnt join in with their entertainment.
Food was slightly better than previously in march. The beach bar menu was slightly different but somethig to suit everyone. Still no evening snacks though. Thanks to Ahmed, the restaurant manager who went out of his way if we requested something different
Mohammed Said at the infinity pool was taken to the main pool on our second day. I requested for his return and after discussing with his manager, he returned the next day. He made our stay very comfortable.
Thanks to Haney and Hambdey for looking after our loungers and umberellas.
Abdullah was our cleaner in cluster 3 for our stay. Room was always clean with plenty of sullpies, only had to ask if we needed something. Only disappointment was that there was no towel art as previously.
The only problem we had was with broken internet socket in the room but was sorted after a few attempts by IT.
They are soon to open a new spa with sauna and jacuzzi. The present spa is a bit of a let down compared to the rest of the hotel but the staff make up for it.
On our last day we requested a late checkout. I asked if i could have it free or discounted as i had been to the hotel previously. The reception staff disussed it with his manager and it was granted no problem which ended a fab holiday on a good note.
Is a smaller hotel than most but very friendly and easy to get around. If you have problems with walking you ca ask for the buggy.
Will definately be returning to The Cleopatra

Room Tip: Cluster 4 are seaview rooms with no rooms above you and are near infinity pool and very quiet

Beautiful grounds, ok food compared to the Caribbean. Hit and mis service especially at the bars. The room cleaning each day was stunning. Pools were lovely but not cleaned that often. Good entertainment, nice pier and snorkelling but the beach was not great for kids or sunbathing. The entertainment staff were great echo, Carla and the wonderful Charlotte. Big shout to Mohammed from house keeping, unbelievable as we are quite messy. Not the best hotel in Sharm compared to others but a great holiday. The italian is very nice the seafood had a great location but the food was average. We would go back as this is a lovely hotel and if you expect a good 4 star you will not be disappointed. The Egyptians are constantly working on improving the standard but you have to remember what you are paying compared to other areas in the world.

Room Tip: Family rooms are stunning and huge.

Just arrived home from a week at the Cleopatra with my partner and family, there were 7 of us in total. After reading reviews before we went they all pretty much sum up the good and bad.

1. Accommodation - we was in cluster 5 room 5101 , the room was very spacious , nice big bed with clean bedding , the bathroom was spacious with a big shower. We had a nice view over the infinity pool and beach. Couldn't fault the cleanliness at all. 10 out of 10 for the room.

2. Pool and beach - we sat around the infinity pool most days , thumbs up to romany the towel guy , very polite and always making sure the pool area was tidy! Be prepared to get up early to reserve a sun bed! Tiles missing in the pool but not as bad as the animation pool but just be careful not to slip over when walking around the pool as it is extremely slippery. One of our party cut his toe in the animation pool, this seemed quite common and no one really takes any notice. Although they do say they are working on it.

3. Food - not a good place to go if you like food , breakfast was fine for bread rolls , coffee , pancakes , fruit and omelettes etc. Lunch at the beach grill was the best but the service was awful. They cooked fresh pizza and chips, but as a party of 7, a few of us would have already eaten with our plates cleared before the rest of the food came out. one day we waited half an hour for a portion of chips. Dinner in the main hall was average , there was always something to eat but nothing seemed to go. Mash potato with sweetcorn was classed as Shepherds pie and the soups were quite bland. You won't go hungry but it could be so much better.

Overall - very clean hotel , well maintained gardens and very relaxing , some members of staff were rude , others were brilliant , be prepared to tip and you will be looked after!

There are shops within waking distance of the hotel just be careful if you are a lone female as you will be hassled more and it can be quite intimidating, you will be hassled but just need to keep walking or say no and be firm, make sure to barter in the shops if you do want something. SOHO square was a bit of a let down , was good if you wanted to go for a meal or drinks, shops were pretty much the same as the market areas just with no hassle but you pay over the odds! I wouldn't bother going just for shopping. You can get taxis outside the hotels for a lot cheaper as opposed to booking through the hotel but be careful as some are unlicensed.

Great for a relaxing holiday.

Hello everyone. I'm an Italian girl. I have just returned from a holiday in this beautiful hotel. What can I say, cleanliness is impeccable, the staff friendly, the beach tidy and quiet. The service is great ... the only bad thing is the food: inedible! We could not take advantage of the two free dinners at the two restaurants (one Italian Fellini) because they were full. Who stayed in this hotel about 4 to 10 August ?? Sorry for my English. Hi!

Just got back from this lovely hotel. Upon arrival we were greeted with a smile and our cases were unloaded for us. Checking in was a pleasant surprise to what I usually get abroad. We were given cold towels to freshen up with. We got the keys to our very clean and well presented room straight away and taken to our room by golf cart by a very well mannered man who gave us a guide of the hotel on the way. In my view all the staff could not do enough for you at any time during the day or night, and did so with a smile on their face at all times. I spent a bit of time with the hotel doctor through no fault of the hotel. The doctor and he's sidekick (are a couple of stars) could not have done any more for me and would come to me at any time if I needed them even out of their normal working hours. I booked my excursions through the rep in the hotel which a lot of people thought they were more expensive but this turned out to be the best thing to do. I had to cancel the quads because of my bad leg and got my money refunded straight away with no problems which you probably wouldn't get from outsiders. We spent our days at the pool with the pool bar. The two pool workers Sam and Mohammed were the two hardest workers I have ever come across at a hotel. They made sure we were comfortable at all times and spent all day joking with us and generally made our days a pleasant experience. They treated my wife and daughter with total respect at all times. The pool barman called Shariff did not stop running around the pool all day making sure everybody had refreshments at all times. All the animation team especially Carla, Farris, Duff & Valentina were great and made everyone feel very welcome. All these guys are a credit to the hotel and deserve a pay rise!!! I will be going back. Mark, Samm and Keeley.

Most of the reviews here pretty much sum this hotel up. It's a very nice hotel with excellent staff, surprisingly good food and it delivers at all levels. The evening entertainment is an acquired taste and the 'international dance troupe' wouldn't have made it past audition for Britain's Got Talent'!! Remember a 5* hotel in one country is not the same as another and in UK terms this is a good 4* also remember what looks unfinished is just the way things are built in this country!

Room Tip: Avoid rooms above main restaurant if you don't like music and dancing!
