Have just come back from a week long stay at the Coral Sea Splash Resort with our 12 year old daughter.

Hotel - The hotel is only a year old and has clearly been rushed in a few places, however everything worked and only minor issues were tiling, finishing touches etc.

Location - The location is approx 15 minutes from the airport. It is across the road from the beachside hotels so is approx a 10 minute walk to pattaya beach where you can use the sunbeds and facilities by showing your all inclusive wristband. Nabq is obviously up and coming as hotels are being built all around the bay. There is a Mcdonalds and KFC just 2 minutes from the hotel and a hard rock cafe is being built across the road.

Food - The worst bit of the hotel. The food is very bland and lacks imagination. Every night it is the same things, just given a different name to correspond with the theme for that night. They have various stations such as Pizza, Pasta, Salad and Egyptian. However, I am a fussy eater and there were no occasions when there wasn't something for me to eat. The main restaurant also resembles a university canteen as is the chaotic stlye at to which he is run, This negative comment however should not hide the efforts of the waiting staff who do a good job in the difficult circumstances. The best bit of lunch was the ice cream served in homemade waffle cones that are available every other day. There are also 2 a la carte restaurants, Asian and American, that are worth visiting as the food is good and a nice break from the main food service.

Pool and Waterpark - Both these are excellent. The main pool is heated and large in size. There is then a wave pool and childrens area. The water park consists of a number of slides that, despite the hotel being near capacity during our stay, never seemed to have a queue to experience them.

Entertainment - The entertainment during the day consists of 3 guys who do their best to get everyone involved. They have aqua aerobics in the morning then in the afternoon there are games such as water polo and volleyball. There is often a quiz around the pool. The evening entertainment i can't comment on as we didn't take part in it, prefering to walk outside the hotel or use the bar areas for a drink.

Bars - There is a poolside bar that serves drinks all day and food during the afternoon, such as pizza, hot dogs etc. There are then a couple of other bars and the waiters are always more than happy to bring your drinks order.

Room - We had a swim up room and they are worth every penny of the upgrade fee. The room was spacious and comfortably slept the 3 of us, with a double bed that was bigger than anything i have ever slept in and a sofa bed for our 12 year old daughter. There is a second sofa bed for a fourth person. The swim up room then had a terrace that led directly into your own private pool. These are exellent if you wish to spend time away from the main areas.

Staff - All the staff work tirelessly hard to satisfy your needs. Our room cleaner was more than happy to get us anything we needed. The serving staff and waiters are also happy to provide you with what you need. The staff around the pool and on the waterpark are also more than happy to have a laugh and a joke and help you out.

Overall I would choose not to return to this hotel should i visit Egypt again but that is mainly because of the food and the fact i never return to a hotel wherever it may be and however good it is.

A few tips for travelling to Egypt:
1. Take English cash with you and exchange it at the bank as the rate you receive is 9.45 whilst exchanging it here in the UK you only get 8 egyptian pounds exchange rate.
2. We booked Thomson for our trips although they were slightly more expensive. They provided good services with escellent guides.
3. You'll get hassle from the shop keepers. The best few were down in Nabq Bay opposite the to be erected Hard Rock Cafe. They were friendly and more than happy to barter.
4. Visit Naama Bay and Soho Square as they are worth a few hours of your time whilst in Egypt.
5. Everyone wants a tip. The driver that takes you from the airport, the hotel worker that takes you to your room, the man who delivers your bags, the room cleaner ( deserved it in our case ) and everyone who says hello!!! They are more than happy with minimal amounts.

Stayed for the Easter holiday so hotel was pretty much full. Didn't seem to affect service all the staff go out of their way to please you, they earn every penny of their tips. Special mentions for waiters Mohammed with the red hat and Ramy, pool guys Mamood and Ary our cleaner Mohammed Ali who did the best birthday towel display for my friends little boy and the entertainment team especially Micheal, Karemme and Megan these guys made our holiday so special!!!
Yes if you wanted to avoid the bedlam for the beds a small tip went a long way but honestly for the sake of £2 who cares.
Kids pool is FREEZING but once you brave it lot of fun for the little ones.
Slides were great fun for all ages.
I think if you look for them you can probably find faults as with any hotel. I don't think it's a NEW hotel it's more like a referb.
I think with everything considered its worth what we paid and I'd happily go back. Is there better looking hotels? Maybe. Better service? I'm not sure.

We have just returned from an Easter break at the hotel, which we booked through Thomsons. Overall we had a great holiday and would definately recommend it, however we were disappointed by the service offered byThomsons themselves. We have travelled with Thomsons on numerous occasions, our last trip being to Turkey last summer, however it seems that they have changed their policy regarding food and in-flight entertainment during that time. Beware -the flight to Egypt takes 5 - 6 hours with no TV and only extremely limited snacks available so best take your own or check out the 'menu' on the internet beforehand. We wish we had as they ran out of snack boxes on the way home and only offered us a drink on 2 occasions during that time. They really have turned into a budget airline in my opinion.

The hotel itself is only a 15 minute transfer from the airport so is ideally situated, and surprisingly does not seem effected by aircraft noise. It's on a main road (not busy) and is close to a good selection of shops and eateries (McDonalds, KFC) if that's your thing, however it is not on the beach.
The hotel surprised us and felt like a little oasis. It's not a particularly large resort so it feels very safe and you get to know lots of the staff who are really friendly. Our room was spacious with twin beds pushed together and a sofa bed. There were a 2 further sofa beds within a separate area that could be closed off, making it ideal for families. Our friends had a similar room with a double bed. We have stayed in a variety of hotels in the past ranging from 3 to 5 stars and would put this as a 4 star. Yes, if you look closely the decor has a 'rustic' charm, however if you base your choice of holiday on the standard of the grouting then I'm lost for words.
Our friends needed to use the hotel's doctor during our stay due to an incident of sunstroke, and I can say that this is where the hotel showed its true colours. The staff were fantastic and did absolutely everything they could could make things as easy and stress free as possible. Everyone from the Scottish lady on the 'guest relations' desk, reception and the entertainment team were involved and their attitude exceeded our expectations. In fact we would consider booking direct next time as we felt the hotel offered all the assistance and reassurance needed.

There is an issue regarding sunbeds. You are issued with tickets upon arrival and these are traded for towels when the pool opens at 8am, however at 8am you would be hard pushed to find a sunbed as they are all already reserved. The pool helpers are good at 'finding' sunbeds if needed though so don't let this put you off.
The waterpark on-site also exceeded our expectations as it offered something for all the family, including my husband who loves his adrenalin fix. What surprised me was that despite the resort being 97% full there were no queues. In addition to this the entertainment team also offer daily yoga classes, aqua aerobics and pool games so there is something going on if you want to join in but it is not in your face. I would say that the daytime entertainment is better than the evening entertaiment but I think that this will improve as they were carrying out a survey while we were there. There is a spa on-site which is very good. I had a 2 hour treatment including a scrub, sauna, steam room, Turkish Bath and a 1 hour massage for £40 (you need to haggle). The spa staff do pester you on your first day so you need to be firm if you're not interested, but I would thoroughly recommend it.

The food offered in the main restaurant is a good standard and varied. There is a good salad station which we all ate without any tummy troubles (I believe they wash everything in purified water), an Egyptian corner which offered a mostly vegetarian alternative which was delicious, and various other dishes, aswell as a children's selection. In addition, the hotel also has 2 a la carte restaurants- Asian and American - which you can visit once during your stay. Overall the food was good, however if you are there for 2 weeks you may get bored.

Speedy check in, bags delivered to te room within 15 minutes, room was spotless everyday and the rooms were huge!!! lovely towel animals from the maid every day. Reception staff very pleasent and helpful. Bar staff and restaurant staff excellent and cheerful every day, I am a fussy eater and I found something to eat every meal time! Pastry chef was excellent! Hotel grounds and pools were imacculate and everything within the hotel was within easy reach!

The best part of the holiday was the animation team who were fantastic and not too pushy! I have a 6year old daughter and she actually cried when it was time to leave as she had such a great time. Megan in the kids club was fantastic with all the kids and kept a very close eye on all the kids!

Will defo be going back and cant wait till we return!

Just arrived back at 1am this mornifrom today 13th April, from a great week away at the Coral Sea Splash (CSS). Have never been to Egypt and was a little worried as we were travelling with our 7th old daughter. After a 15 minute transfere we arrived at the CSS check in was professional and fast. We were shown to our rooms - spacious clean rooms ( 2 days before departure we emailed the hotel to request sunny side rooms, meaning that the sunshines on your room from Dawn till 2 pm.) I emailed and got a reply within 15 mins and they remembered us when we checked in even !

The rooms were large and spotlessly clean. Tv, mini bar, safe and mini bar- no real need for the mini bar as the hotel is inclusive. Our room was on the ground floor, and opened up on to the pool area, which was perfect.

The pool area was clean and comfortable beds. Towels were renewed each day, so no need to take your own beach towels. Waiters constantly delivered drinks to your bed and couldn't do enough for you.

The pool and splash facilities were fantastic, great slide rides, warm wave pool and a huge lazy river, perfect for a family holiday. Our 7 yr old loved it.

Food - a great selection every day in the main restaurant, you get to eat in the Asian and American restaurants once a week. Personally I preferred the main restaurant, their take on Asian isn' t the same as ours e.g. The Thai green curry didn't have any coconut milk in it but all the same it was an interesting dish! And quite tasty.

The entertainment team were great, not too in your face. The only complaint was that the entertainment started too late at night 10 pm....we were heading to bed then, as up at 6am most mornings .

Overall are all lovely holiday and we will certainly be returning

I have just returned from this hotel with my family and can't praise it enough. Very friendly staff who can't do enough for you, beautiful surroundings and lots of things for the kids to do. My youngest daughter has a very bad allergy to sesame and poppy seeds and all the bread in the restaraunt had some form of these. We mentioned this to a staff member who then went to get the head chef and when we explained he said he would make some bread without any on and that it would be no problem. This is just an example of the lengths the staff will go to for you. Will certainly be going again.
