“Well above expectations - Fab holiday!!”
Reviewed 15 November 2011

We have previously stayed in the Reef Oasis Blue Bay that ranks 7 on trip adviser compared to the 56 that Radisson scores. Due to the Radisson being £600 cheaper we booked here, not expecting it to be anywhere near the Blue Bay. (especially after reading some reviews on here!!)

However what a lovely surprise we got.....

Rooms are slightly dated but the seaview room we received was massive, and beds so comfy!!

The grounds, pools, restaurants and beach are all fantastic but the best thing about the hotel by far was the staff..... they made our holiday!! 50 Egyptian pounds (about £5.00) very occasionally to worthy staff members makes sure you are treated like royalty.

My favourite was a young 20 year old waiter on the pool bar called Sameh who I think was new but was fantastic. He became a good friend of my husband and I over the holiday and at the end of my time there we were sad to say goodbye to him...... he made us laugh so much!! Also Rami and Walid were fantastic... All the waiters there were fab including the restaurant staff in the buffet restaurant.

The Crows Nest Bar overlooking the sea was well worth a visit, I am only disappointed that we only discovered this on our last night. It was quiet which surprised us as the location and decor was superb and the waiter on the bar was lovely and made us special cocktails :)

I normally cant stand animation teams in hotels as I feel they normally hassle you. However, Kaka and his animation team were fantastic and so entertaining. My husband played volleyball and beach football twice a day and Kaka was fab on a night with his own fireshow spectacular!!

Miss this place already..... food was varied and lovely ... no sign of "Egyptian tummy" here!!!

Well done Raddison Sharm for making our holiday a holiday to remember!!! Would definately come again!!

Room Tip: Ask for non smoking room with double bed ..... also pay the extra for a sea view!!

when i went to Sharm in my honey moon my initial booking was at this hotel , attracted by its beautiful web site, but arriving there found out that the hotel is outdated, very poor, rooms were just OK , food was the most terrible that me and my wife could not eat nor lunch nor dinner, restaurant was extreemly dirty, even the table cloth was stained and when i asked a waiter to change it he simply flipped it to the reverse side and placed it again on my table in front of my eyes! oh God I will never forget that all my life. I immediately in the first day looked for another hotel and thanks God I was able to find a nice room elsewhere. I will never go there again even if for free

My wife and I were going to have nine nights in Cairo but she was put off by recent disturbances so we split our time between Cairo and Sharm, 4 nights Cairo and 5 in Sharm

Lets get the bad out of the way first, the main pool in the resort was so cold it was a real effort to get in, even as keen swimmers we were put off by this and only swam two mornings, the cost of the airport transfers is too high $30 each way when you can get a taxi for half that, and probably still ripped off.
The good now, the setting is excellent, we upgraded to a deluxe room right on the beach for $20/night, and to all inclusive for the same amount, which we felt was good value.
The service was always good, the room had a few insects in it, which you have to expect in hot countries, but the room cleaner Achmed sprayed the bathroom for us and that sorted the problem on the first day.
The reception, bar and restaurant staff were always pleasant and efficient, nothing was too much bother for them.
The food in the main restaurant was good and there was a decent variety though it tended to be pretty much the same each day, but we only ate anywhere else twice, one lunch in Naama Bay and one dinner in the resort's own Italian restaurant so it was clearly acceptable.
The wind and sea swell stopped us snorkelling as much as we would have liked but when we did manage the pier out to the reef made it very easy to get to a great snorkelling area and the fish and coral to be viewed there I can only describe as spectacular.
I would have no hesitation recommending this hotel.

Just spent two weeks all inclusive here (Last two weeks of October 2011) and finding it very hard to find any criticism.
First time in Sharm so nothing to compare with. Having spent so much time on deciding where to stay with so many choices available we decided to go with a 'brand' name and chose the Radisson, but find it hard why this place is so low in the hotel ratings on TripAdvisor??

Arrived late ish to a welcome drink, check-in and taken by buggy to our room. Buffet restaurant open until 9.30pm so had just enough time to squeeze something in, hot meat section was still being manned at the time (note to meat lovers: this is hidden to left of the entrance of the main buffet area doors).

Room was large, massive bed with sofa\seating area (Block 1xxx). Bathroom was fine, could probably do with a little TLC but sufficed. If you like some TV on your holiday there are a couple of UAE channels showing movies and US TV shows (channels 16&17) in English.
Cleaned daily and towel animals made the return each day something to look forward to.

Hotel grounds are amazing and so well looked after. Large main pool and smaller one towards the beach area. Seemed to be plenty of sunbeds each day (our second week hotel was supposedly 75% full according to management).

Beach area is great. Once again plenty of seating.
Shallow water area (note: wear footwear!) for a quick wallow and also a pier with access into sea with unbelievable wildlife on show. Can get quite busy but is so worth it to sea the drop to the seabed and so many fish swimming around you!
Beach soccer and Beach Volleyball available twice a day for sporting types (will also mention that hotel has a gym and spa - gym was well equipped with big variety of machines and weights).

Pool bar was great. Guys there (esp. Rami, Hamada, Jimmy) made it enjoyable each time.
For a couple of £ a day these they will really give you some top notch service as we noticed not many others even seem to consider tipping these guys! (They work 12 hour days so fully deserve it). Try one of Hamada's Tequila Boom Booms - NICE!!
Two other bar areas, Lobby bar (Marwa always providing excellent service), and Crows Nest (Hi A.Salam - really friendly guy) offered quieter locations if preferred.
Lobby area offers free WiFi which works well.

Pool area is entertained by Kaka who will play his varied musical taste and try and get you involved in aqua aerobics or water polo - but with no hassle.
Table tennis and big chess board are also available f.o.c.

Meals are offered 3 times a day in main buffet area. Greeted by a friendly smile from May each time and plenty of seating even at busy times.
Standard of buffet was fine, all the main food groups offered each time (remember Egypt is a Muslim country so don't be expecting sausage and bacon at breakfast!)
Grotto, Tradewinds and Lebanese restaurants offered meals during the evening (extra cost).
Tip: First Choice\Thomson customers at the time of our stay are allowed one free meal per week at these restaurants - no one will tell you this.

Outside the hotel does offer plenty of shopping options and some eateries.
Note this hotel is in Nabq, other side of airport to Nama Bay so is a lot quieter.
Plenty of shops opposite hotel with all the normal souvenirs, drinks and snacks. Practice your haggling skills before you leave, some shops are fixed prices but note nothing will be price marked so ask before you buy.
5 minute walk away will get you to a couple of sports bars (one run by English family - Union Jack) if you need your football intake and bar food.

For a £2 (GBP) five minute cab ride (haggle for this) will get you to La Strada which has plenty of shops, KFC, McDonald's, TGI Friday, Chinese and a few other eateries.
Also has a Metro supermarket (their Tesco), large and you will find well stocked variety of goods at supermarket prices (half of what you will pay across the road from hotel, so well worth the cab fare).

All in all a great holiday, UK patrons of this hotel seem very thin on the ground, which I have to say I enjoyed. Will be made up of Russian and other European guests who will keep to themselves.
Number of child guests is also very low which means a screaming free holiday (did pick up a little as our second week was during UK half term but still a lot less than the norm).

Can vouch that you would have a stress free, quiet and enjoyable break if staying at this hotel.

Thanks to ALL the staff who made our stay so enjoyable!
