My partner and I have been many times to Egypt and whilst in Sharm, always stay at The Hauza. Staff are very helpful especially head waiter who has greeted us every year very warmly.
Shall go again....... and the price meets expectations of lo cost holiday.

Just returned from hauza, not a 5* but neither is price. More like a 3*. however staff more than helpful, room cleaned daily n private beach... What more do you want for £300-£350 a week??! Food not the best but always something to choose from, this is Egypt your not going to get chicken and chips I'm fussy but could find something to eat daily and the paninis or beach side pizzas are very tasty! Sat on beach roasting and waiter comes round with ice cold face cloths .... What a great unexpected treat!! Take your own glasses as only get small ones but bar staff happy to fill pints if you take them, entertainment team are a laugh too nice friendly people kimo Kate himo etc always make an effort to come and chat. Don't expect the ritz just relax and enjoy, couldn't go to Spain self catering for price paid, defo worth it!! Dive off end of pier, go snorkelling, this is amazing plus try three crowns (english bar) or tgi's about mile down from Hotel great food and cheap too!! Will def go back :-)

Spent two weeks lying about and enjoying ouselves. Hotel rooms are basic but air conditioned and clean. The pools and gardens are well kept and continually cleaned. Usual fault with all inclusive hotels was small glasses but with a smile and politeness our larger glasses were efficently filled. The staff were very helpful at all times and since I have a damaged knee and walk with a stick I had to fight off offers of assistance.
The food in the restaurant was basic but you could always find something you liked amongst the choice, and the meal in the Indian Restaurant was different but tasted very nice.
The amusement team were hard working but limited but a change of management occurred while we were there and there was definite improvementt in the second week. The whole fortnight was excellent except for the professional moaners who complained about having to eat Egyptian food in Egypt and the fact that there were foreign children at the Kids Club

Room Tip: Block 8 or 9 are ajacent to pool but note music until midnight

My Partner and I stayed in the Hauza for 1 week in September for a relaxing holiday.
We were all inclusive which was good as we spent little money and just made do with what there was.
FOOD
Luckily neither of us are fussy eaters and are willing to try anything which was good as the food was very different than back home but you expect that abroad anyway! The meals were however very repetitive and a week was enough for us, by the last day I was sick of bread and pasta and my partner sick of crepes every morning! Neither of us got sick so I can't complain there. The Indian restaurant and the seafood restaurant were free for one night each and we loved the food in them and it was a needed change from the main restaurant!! Ice cream was not free which was disappointing.
DRINKS
YOU MUST TAKE YOUR OWN CUPS!! we did and were so glad as the small plastic cups are children sized! We thought the spirits, beer and soft drinks were fine, the wine however was awful so we just didn't have any. Cocktails however are not free which i was very disappointed about.
ROOMS
very basic and I mean basic, however ours was cleaned every day and too a high standard by a very friendly gentlemen. The satellite cable went off completely once or twice which my partner was disappointed about for entertainment purposes as the hotel entertainment is rubbish to put it bluntly.
HOTEL GROUNDS
gorgeous...the jungle pool is amazing, the slides are so much fun, the main pool is lovely but crowed and noisy. The beach is fantastic, we went there every day and snorkelling is a must!! tip the towel guy and he will save your spot on the beach for the rest of your stay.
The major problem with the grounds is that you are hassled every single day, ALL day, by men selling newspapers and spa treatments and excursions and taking photos. This really annoyed us, as he would take our picture without asking and continue to do so even after we said that we weren't interested. He also took a lot of photos of children playing in the pool which is totally inappropriate and illegal in the UK. If they were my kids I would of slapped him to be honest.
STAFF
if you don't tip, or tip well, you don't exist. I did not come on holiday to tip every tom, dick and harry every time they smile at me or say hello and so we were ignored ALOT. my partner had to get our drinks in the restaurant every single meal. The reception staff are horrible, we did not get a nice greeting or a good farewell and there were always people complaining every time we walked past. Another thing the men are extremely sleazy and will come on to the women who are not with their partners or are single so be aware. my partner had had enough by day 3.
TOILETS
dirty dirty dirty, never cleaned or not cleaned enough, we just used the bathroom in our room.
BLACKOUT ON THE THIRD DAY!! no air conditioning, no tv and no light, no one was compensated for this and they just served food at the restaurant anyway, which was dangerous as its a buffet and you couldn't see a thing, this lasted hours, worst night of the holiday.
DO NOT GO TO THE SPA
we stupidly got talked into the best spa deal you've HEARD in your life and the reality was nothing like promised, it was just HORRIBLE!! A complete rip off!! the body scrub is a women who throws flakes on you and then sharply says 'turn' to do the other side, the facial was a man you slaps cream on your face and this is the worst part...you had to wash off these things yourself in a bathroom that looked like something from the movie hostile. it was grim grim grim. the massage was good but the woman and man who did us kept having their own private conversation and laughing which my partner and i uncomfortable and embarrassed. as if it couldn't get any worse they claimed that their card machine was not working and so they demanded cash by escorting us outside the hotel and a good ten minute walk up the road to the nearest cash machine and then demanded a tip!!!!!!!! i was so angry i almost cried with disappointment and frustration. this also happened on the last night so we left on a very sour note.
OVERALL
we would not go back, truth is you get what you pay for and this hotel is not up to our standards. we will def be back to sharm but shall spend the money to stay somewhere luxurious and be treated like we are on holiday and not just another dollar in their pockets. stay somewhere else if you are fussy and have a high standard of expectations.

I visited Hauza beach with 3 friends and stayed for 10 days NEVER AGAIN!
Ive been to Egypt before and stayed in a 5star this is definately not a 5 star and i wouldnt recommend this hotel to any of my friends or family. Although the rooms were clean and simple the quality of food and drink is diobolical for an all inclusive hotel. We ended up spending a futher £700 on eating out every night. As for the mini zoo/reptile centre, i have never been so apalled as to witness a dead rotting turtle obviously neglected and left to die in a tiny enclosement, the stench could be smelt through the glass window! The staff were rude, hassled and knew nothing. The rep didnt even bother to tell us our flight had been changed by 3 hours until we asked him to check our flights on our departure day and even that took some persuading! The only plus side to the hotel was Nani, a local salesman who sold us three amazing trips which made our holiday i would recommend finding him on the resort to book your trips with and not the rep who is only interested in commission! Such a shame as the hotel as such potential! :(

Thank you for your review. We will answer as you have written:
Staff: Our staff are trained to be helpful, friendly and polite. The comments on the review websites reflect this as most guests are happy with our staff attitude. This is also confirmed in our in-house guest comment analysis.
Eating / Drinking: We offer a variety of food in our main restaurant, at the pool bar and beach bar including bbqs, themed buffets, snacks and pizzas,The issue of mini zoo animal we do care about them and we have a medical care to them all the time and feed them,We are happy that you found some one you like in the hotel we will give him a big thank you .
Overall: If the above points are true, they could easily have been dealt with and solved had you paid a visit to our guest relations desk. It is very easy to complain after the event without giving the hotel a chance to solve any issues you might have and thus make your holiday more enjoyable. Nevertheless, we apologise if our hotel and resort did not meet you expectations and wish you happy holidays in future

My partner and I returned from Sharm yesterday (Wednesday 21/09/11) after having 11 nights in the Hauza. We both had a fantastic holiday and loved Egypt very much! It is was you want to make it! There is no denying that the Hauza is more of a 3 star resort rather than a 5 star but you do get what you pay for and considering how much we paid (which wasn't much) we did have everything that we needed and expected. Our room was kept clean and comfortable, but we did hear a few guests say their rooms were horrible (but I suppose you get that anywhere you go though?!). The staff were fantastic and were more than happy to go out of their way to accommodate our needs and desires. Due to lack of money (we did not budget well) we were unable to do the excursions, so my tip to anyone visiting is to make sure you have plenty of cash, there are people constantly approaching you asking you to go on trips or get your nails/feet done or hair braided etc etc be wary of taking pictures of camels as the owners will charge you for taking a photo, even when you are buy the pool you will be asked daily to buy something. Heard from a few people that the star gaze trip was amazing and that the boat trip to the 3 islands and the ship wreck was worth going on! My partner and I spent money on massages in the resort which worked out a lot cheaper than the UK, was amazing and so relaxing! The food and drink that was on offer to us was constant, breakfast 7am - 10am, morning pastries at the pool bar 10am - 12pm, toasties at the pool bar 12pm - 2pm, lunch 12:30pm - 2:30pm, pool bar snacks and beach bar snacks 2:30pm - 4pm, evening meal 7pm - 10pm, pool bar supper 10pm - 12am. The food in the main restaurant was repetitive but made very well and was tasty! We did end up eating out a few nights as we came to know what we were going to get every night. I recommend the omelettes at breakfast and the pizza's at the pool bar (have to pay for pizzas at the pool but free at the beach?). The thing/people that made our holiday at the Hauza was the Real Animation team!! Omar the Chief, Kimo, Aimee, Kate, Ahmed, H, Himo, Evie, Dylan, and there was one more guy who was amazing at belly dancing but i can not remember his name (so sorry!) All of them were so entertaining and kind and friendly! Thank you so much guys! My last tip is to take your own glasses or plastic cups with you if you want a decent pint sized drink or large drink as you get giving small plastic cups unless you tip the barman (which we did) to get taller plastic glasses (not pint size though).

Room Tip: Our room 1425, was on the third floor so we had a some stairs to climb everytime but it was a lovely...

I totally agree with all the bad revues. I have stayed in a number of 5 star hotels in Sharm, and received 5 star service food and facilities, So was expecting the same at the Hauza. we did not receive 2 star. we were all ill, for two days, so we dined out in traditional Egyptian restaurants from then on, and all were fine. So it was not because the food was not English jn the Hotel, it was more to do with the hygiene, or lack of.
The holidaymakers who post good reviews on this dump, either have been to another resort and thought it was the hauza, or they were on some sort of medication. (which is possible due to the number of guests that were ill),
We spoke with many of the other guests there and nobody had a good word to say about the hotel. (not only the English).
The staff were helpful until we had cause to complain, they were then rude and hostile towards us.
I urge anybody who has had a bad experience at the Hauza, to report this hotel to the egyptian tourist board. They can then give the hotel the rating it deserves, this will prevent other potential victims from staying here.
I would like to add more but i can feel my blood pressure rising so i will have to end here.

Room Tip: Don't bother

Thank you for your review. Most of your points have been addressed in many previous reviews and have been answered in detail e.g. the difference in star systems (and prices!) between Europe and Egypt.
Upset stomachs are not uncommon in Egypt as most travellers know and can be caused by numerous factors including sunstroke, dehydration, over-indulgence etc.. swimming (suntan lotion / oil etc.) Your comments regarding our food and your generalizations regarding the “majority” of guests are unfounded and unacceptable. We offer a variety of food including BBQs, theme evenings (Egyptian, Mexican and Italian). At breakfast we offer, beef bacon or sausages, baked beans, fried eggs, cereals, yoghurts, cheeses and meats, fruit, pastries, various types of bread and rolls etc
Anyway thanks again for your review we wish you happy holiday in the future .
