We have just returned from a week's holiday at the Royal Albatros. It is a very large hotel with all nationalities. The room was huge with very comfy beds. The food was adequate, we could always find something to eat. The freshly cooked food was the best, omelettes, pizza, barbecue stuff as it was hot and fresh. The coffee stand is second to none, the best coffee I have had anywhere on holiday. The beach bar on the beach does a good fish and chips for lunch. ~The drinks are not very nice, the usual horrendous spirits and the wine was awful which came as a surprise as I usually find it drinkable in Egypt. The sunbeds were lovely, nice and padded and plenty of them. The staff were very nice and willing. The hotel is in Nabq which is miles from anywhere. We went into Soho Square for a night and had a lovely meal at Saffron. Went on the stargazing trip which was very enjoyable. This is the only hotel in Egypt where I did not get an upset stomach. I would go back to this hotel.

Room Tip: Get a taxi into Naama Bay outside the hotel. We paid 40 Egyptian pounds each way. Go to the coffee...

My partner and I have just returned from a week at royal albratros moderna. The biggest let down was the food. We are not fussy eaters and didn't expect the food to be fantastic (from other reviews we had read) but it was terrible. Breakfast, lunch and dinner was a let down everyday. We had to resort to eating out in the evenings because we hardly ate anything all day. The drinks we also very warm which isn't ideal and the glasses tiny so you had to get a couple at a time to make your trip to the bar worth while. Some staff were lovely and very pleasant but we vary rarely saw the same waiter or staff member more than once because it is such a huge resort. We had to move rooms because we were told we would have a pool or garden view with a balcony but we did not have either, but instead were stuck at the back of the hotel in a small room. There didn't seem to be any consistancy within the rooms because in the first we had a fan and safe and in the second that did have the garden view and balcony didn't have a safe or fan, again this wasn't ideal. The rooms were tired and shabby, however the maid/cleaner did a good job at keeping the room clean and was very pleasant. Some of guests were very rude and didn't seem to understand the idea of queing. I would not return to this hotel or recommend it to others and I also struggle to believe other reviews posted on here are genuine. There seemed to be a similar consensus among other guests about the negatives we have mentioned.

Just got back from a 7 day all inclusive, the hotel is still a lovely hotel and the staff are fantastic, checking in one year on was a more relaxed experience and more professional. You cannot fault the staff whatsoever, they are always polite and helpful. The grounds of the hotel are still lovely and the food still very nice. The one and only main downfall which is not the hotels fault is that it mainly has russian holiday makers who are extremely rude, loud and drunk. You have to get use to being pushed around by them and put up with their drunken behaviour i.e. 10 glasses of alcohol on the table at anyone time, which is a great shame as I do think in the long term they will have a major affect at the resort. The entertainment was even less this year than last year. This hotel is large and does require more music entertainment i.e. inside and outside in the evening as there is not enough seating in one area when the entertainment is on. The various swimming pools are still great and the young lady who did a lovely full back massage was great. Pancake bar a great must lovely coffee bar and seating. This is our second year at the hotel and for anyone who has not been there I would still recommend it as you cannot fault the staff nor the beach or the lovely sunshine. Just make sure the russians do not spoil it for us English!!

Stayed at this hotel from 21 nov to 28 nov 2011,the food was good, the hotel was clean, the gardens were kept to a very high standard.Excellent coffee bars in and outside the hotel, service with a smile always. good value for money. Before we went we read some indifferent reviews but my wife and i really enjoyed our stay at this hotel.the location of the hotel is somewhat remote as there is not a lot to explore in the evenings.
The alcoholic drinks are very weak, you can drink all night long without getting drunk.

We are a family of 4 . 2 adults , 2 children aged 6 and 11. We stayed at this hotel from 31/10/2011 -07/11/2011 room 254..We knew the hotel wasnt going to be brand new and top of the range luxury, but our stay here was very pleasant. The staff are fantastic.. They are not appreciated enough.. The children loved the aqua pool and childrens pool. The food can be a little repetitive but of a good standard, and freshly cooked. The hotel is undergoing some updating, which will improve it . But not all holidays are about your accomodation. Our room was cleaned daily and adequate for our requirements. We spent most of the time outdoors.. It was a lovely relaxing week away . And yes we would return again to the Royal Albatros.

Our experience at this hotel was very disapointing, on arrival after travelling all day we quickly unpacked and showered looking forward to a nice relaxing meal with a drink or two. On arrival at the restaurants, we had to walk round all of them to try and find a table in the end a waiter had to clear a table for us to sit at and it was only 7pm. When we finally got our food we then had to wait for our cutlery. not a good start!
On the third night my partner found a very long piece of wire in his food, the Chef and Restaurant Manager were called and they took his plate away and got some more food, no apology was offered. We did not make a fuss but some form of apology would have been nice, if someone had actually put this piece of wire in their mouth (it could have been a child) this could have been a disaster. This did I am afraid put us off the food for the rest of the week.
Our room was at the back of the hotel and every night we were subjected to very loud music. It was incredibly windy which not the hotels fault of course but the doors rattled all night, I would recommend the hotel fix the doors! On a positive note the room was very spacious and the bed lovely and big, which was just as well as I had to stay in bed for 24 hours with a migraine from the noise from the doors rattling and the loud music!
This was our third time in Egypt and this was the worst hotel of the three, if you don;'t mind chaotic meal times and the hassle in trying to find a free sunbed this this hotel is ok but for us it was too chaotic and not very relaxing. We will not choose this hotel again.

Stayed at the hotel in November 2011, this being our second visit visit this year! The hotel is extremely clean, food varied and well prepared and the staff without exception the most friendly and helpful that we have met anywhere. The hotel provides for all tastes from the energetic snorkelling and water park to the less so lounging by the three pools or on the beach. The hotel is constantly upgarding facilities, since we were last there in March the main pool area is repaved and another excellent real coffee bar area provided. We will no doubt be visiting again in the not too distant future. The hotel also has a jetty, at no charge to guests, out over the lagoon to the edge of the coral reef which is a bonus if you like snorkelling. This is with out doubt the best all inclusive hotel that we have stayed in.
