The hotel acutally looks alright from the photos, do not be mislead! We booked through On The Beach and the description of the hotel sounded perfect for us! Its all very misleading! Firstly, the location; the website would imply that the hotel is located near the beach which it is not- its actually a 10min bus journey (do not attempt to walk it, the roads are dodgy and there are stray dogs wandering all around this area- it is not worth the risk). Not only is it not situated near the beach, but also right on a dual carriage way! It Also stated that it is in the heart of Nabq Bay, you have to get a taxi to even get to a shop!
Secondly, the room; very basic, which would have been fine, however we had no hot water and the back doors didnt shut/lock!
Thirdly the food was simply appalling! Inedible and unhygienic! The website boasted three restaurants, only one was open a buffet style. Just seemed to be random ingredients thrown together and left out on the heat source for hours. Rather than switch on the air con, windows in the restaurant were opened so flies entered and landed on food. Hardly the relaxing atmosphere promised by the website.
Fourth, the pool! RISK!!!! If we had taken our child there we would have walked straight back out. The 'brick grates' by the pool for the overflow expose huge voids where bricks were missing. More alarmingly we seriously doubt that they are treating the pool correctly! We couldnt smell any chlorine at all- not even a mild trace. So who knows what kind of nastys are floating around in there! Water Borne illnesses are serious!
We also had problems getting drinks, they couldnt keep them chilled, they ran out and when you did manage to get one, they were tiny little plastic cups which were about half way shy of the top!
Dont waste your time and money OR risk your health

Where to begin is the hardest part, as no part of our stay was pleasant. So lets begin...

We moved rooms 3 times because the main doors would not lock and you were lucky if they had locks and handles on. The patio doors were very unsafe in wouldnt lock.
The bedding and matresses were disgusting and very old. Bedding stained and filthy
The floors were very dirty and not swept, still stained from previous occupants.

On arrival we were greeted with the most unpleasent person you would care to meet. My husband and I asked if there was any water or beverages to drink and the Manager of the resort replied with "Ur late and there is nothing to drink here after 10pm, not even water" Bearing in mind this is an all inclusive holiday which we paid £1296.00 for 2 adults for 2wks.

Ok, I will continue with the list of endless disasters. Trust me when I say all these things as I am not lying and have photos to prove the horrific quality. They will be uploaded with this review.

We had to stay in this hell hole for 3 days but luckily we had enough money to get a transfer to a beautifl hotel 45mins away in a taxi.

The food was unedible and I didnt eat for the 3 days we stayed. The evening soup was served with a ladel which is fine but the next morning the milk was served with the same unwashed ladel.
The cups, plates, knives and forks were dirty stained and cracked. The wine had mould growing in it and they didnt have beer in so sent a young boy miles to the nearest supermarket. Breakfast was not 4 star at all. I was served fruit and yoghart, which instantly curdled when I poured it out. The list is endless.

Health and safety issues are a total joke. If it was in this country it would be a condemed building and the council would come and clear it out. The fire exits were blocked with big flower pots on both sides of the doors. The stairs were covered in rubbish and filled with soilded nappies. The cleaning trollies for the maids to clean the rooms were disgusting and of very poor quality. No cleaners were seen. The bar area was the most unsafe and unclean place ever. Wires showing and sockets overloaded with plugs.

The swimming pool was heavenly....... for bugs mosquitos moss and alge hence the 31 bites I aquired during my short but mentally scarring stay. I didnt even go anywhere near the water. The pool side was so unsafe it was nothing short of a bomb site. The drainage system round the edge of the pool was the most dangerous thing I have ever seen. Bricks fitted were missing and badly placed. If a child was to slip or even an adult/oap they would most definately end up in A&E with a broken limb.

Honestly I could go on and on about this place but just remembering it is so upsetting. We save all year for this and to be faced with that is not even worth thinking about. It must be that bad because the holiday rep would not even come into the hotel. We had to go outside to speak to him and then he arranged for us to be transferred to a better hotel a coule of daays later.
My husband and I have never been so emtionally drained and broken before but this place really did the job.

Please please please, I cant stress enough Not to go to this place. I have even been in touch with the hoilday company we booked it with..... Holiday Gems. and advised them to remove them from their books..... It is not a 4 star hotel at all by any means, its worse than Hostel - 5*.. Its not family friendly or all inclusive..... ITS THE WORST PLACE IVE EVER BEEN TO. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE.

arrived thursday about 7 pm was logging complaints with in an hour. After a long day , was looking forward to an evening meal ,we were shown a table which had a cloth on, well i can only assume some one earlier had given birth on it.The food was bloody awful ...we ate bread rolls for a day and a bit. *Hotel=run down and should be closed down,*Room = couldnt close patio doors, no safe, played a great game of find a plug socket (hidden behind a chair but only one)shower cold water and hanging off the wall,*Drinks= shot type glasses ,we were the only guess but they still ran out of beer *Pool=if you dont want your kids o r even yourself to come home with a broken leg or ankle keep clear, the gulley system round the pool is more dangerous than trying to cross the M25 in rush hour blind folded *staff= Well you cant tell who's working there or just hanging about none wear a uniform *Entertainment=none *surroundings= something like the first planet of the apes final scene run down and bombed buildings *Good points= i had to think hard about this, being the only guess it was quiet and the cleaner made things out of the towels ,Oh yeah the best thing of all was seeing Zouara in the rear view mirror as we left for Verginia sharm hotel a day latter after begging the holiday rep to get us out,

First of all id like to say there was a group of 6 of us ranging in age from (16-40). Made up of family and couples.
We was all Inclusive (massive mistake) we only ate at the hotel once, the food had flies landing on it constantly and it was the same food from lunch to dinner, we ended up eating out every day.
Our next complaint was no drink...... you could only have water at breakfast/lunch/dinner.
Of the 3 bars that are there only one has a barman, however for 3 days the bar only had beer no other drinks, when they did get drink we found there was special treatment from the barman towards the other guests at the hotel who were all Russian. (e.g. We walked over to the bar to order a drink and we could see fanta being poured, there was still a good 3/4 of a bottle left, as we asked for a glass of fanta he said there was none left, it was only once I opened the fridge and pointed to it that he then started to backpedal)
The next complaint was the pool... 2.1metres in depth but is only filled with water up to 1metre throughout the entire pool. The pool itself is also really dangerous, tiles loose, they had brick fashion guttering around the pool (what for i have no idea as the water was so low...) but the bricks were missing so there was big gaps to fall down, which one of our group did!
For 2 days we actually had no water for showering etc, kept being told it would be back on in 10minutes, we didn't realise this was egyptian minutes which means days.
We had a powercut to for a while.... no where else seemed to have the same problem though!
Ive read a few comments of nice staff at Zouara, i found only 2 nice staff in the whole place, they was the cleaner and the entertainment(Mo).
The Management are a joke, very arrogant and not helpful at all, even ordering us a taxi seemed a chore for them and their taxis were really expensive, complaints were brushed aside and not dealt with, Our back door would not close or lock and our air con pumped out hot air (Yes i did make sure it was on the low temp setting)
Of the 3 rooms we had 2 of them had doors that would not lock.
The hotel is situated in an area which i can only describe as something out of a horror movie, derelict half built hotels/ houses with no lighting and a group of huts next to it, viewable from pretty much all over the hotel, so not very picturesque at all!
The Zouara beach is really bad, it has the same standard sand at Southend Beach, all the other hotels must laugh because the rest of the beaches down there are beautiful, they have made 2 buses available to the beach that pick you up at different times only 3 times a day though!
I have only been back a day and felt the need to write this to warn anyone who was even thinking of staying at this place.
The sooner it is closed down the better!!
