“Very Let Down By Sea Club - Would Not Return!”

My boyfriend and I have just returned from a 10 day stay in Sea Club. To say we felt let down by this hotel is a understatment.

Reception Staff were lovely when you first arrive but as the holiday went on, i found all of the staff were rude, unhelpful and seemed to be irritated by being asked simple questions. Most of the reception staff did not speak good english.

Bar Staff and room cleaners were fantastic! always very happy and welcoming. Always stop for a chat and felt very well looked after. George,Gamal and Waheeb from the Baracuda Bar made our holiday. Without them it would have been alot worse.

The grounds were very well kept until after 7 days, then the hotel had checked in a large amount of Eygption quests. They were throwing rubbish and food on the floor and into the swimming pool. They would push infront of you when queing for drinks or food. We personally found that Eyqption guests were able to take food from the resturant to the pool side. But when my boyfriend and i tried to, we were told it was not allowed. This was also spoken about by many other british guests. We were warned Russian guests were the rude ones. not Eygptions.

Food was awful. always cold and very tasteless. If you wanted Fish Lasagne, lettece or Spagetti you would have been in heaven as this was served ALOT. there were other dishes available but were always cold. even if you got to the resturant when it opened for dinner etc. There was an awful smell of sour milk by the fruit juice machine in the morning. We reported this to the reception manager on the first day. 10 days later they hadnt cleaned it up. This was disgusting. Also there was a bird stuck in the main resturant for the whole duration on the holiday, which we also complained about as there was bird poo down the window above tables where we were asked to eat. For somewhere who have their food hygene certificate on the wall. This was appauling.

DO NOT BE FOOLED. the hotel is NOT all inclusive. you have to pay extra for Fresh fruit juice, ice cream and expresso's.

Pool Area. Was spotlessly clean until the Eygption families were there and throwing food and plastic cups in the pool.

Rooms - We asked for a ground floor,sea view room which we did get. the room was dated and tired, the shower curtain was grey and we had a awful dirty rug put in our room. The cleaner did the best he could by covering the room in great towel animals and flowers daily for us.

Excursion Reps - We have a mixed opinion on the excursion reps. Some of them would be fine with you saying you were not intrested and saying no thank you but some other excursion reps would NOT stop harrassing you about quad biking, massages, and every other trip you are asked to buy. WARNING TO EVERYONE. do not book the quad biking with the man by the pool. he is selling it for double the price of most quad biking companies.

A'la Carte - Japanese was beautifully cooked infront of you. Lebanese wasnt great and Itailain wasnt great either. We booked the Japanese twice as it was so great.

Also. by the Baracuda bar 2 ladies witnessed rats run across their feet as there was piles of food in the bush from where kids had thrown it around. The rep or reception didnt care at all.

Thomas Rep - Ashraf.... what an awful rep. He was no help to us at all. We went to him for various reasons. The problems were not resolved. Also when we were waiting to leave the hotel Ashraf recieved a text on his phone and left the hotel. 2 Minutes later the Thomson Bus Driver informed us that we had a delay between 2-4 hours! Ashraf obviously didnt want to inform us himself as when my boyfriend called him asking why he didnt inform us, he put the phone down.
To everyones standards thats unacceptable behaviour. especially when he is supposed to be there for us, which is what he is writing on the cards he puts through your door nearly every day. I ended up contacting the UK and spending £25 of mobile credit to call Thomson and ask about when we would be picked up.

The great thing is that Sharm El Sheik is fantastic. The nightlife is great, the shops were great fun bartering and good bars to eat and drink. But we would NOT return to the sea club resort, But would return to another hotel. sadly not with Thomson either. The 2 stars i would give the resort is for the location being close to the airport, soho square and Nama Bay. Also the cleaners and barmen! they do not get enough for the long hours and great service they provide.

If you want to go Scuba Diving in Sharm. Get a taxi to the Marriott hotel - Outside the hotel is a shop called Mr Diver. We went diving with them and it was FANTASTIC! The professional divers were chatting to us about their lifes aswell as diving. The induction was great, explained alot in depth. would highly recommend them to anyone wanting to learn while diving.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review regarding your recent stay in Sea Club.

I would like to address a few points you made within the review.

You state that staff members were rude and unhelpful, however i find this hard to believe as our staff are very accommodating and welcoming which is evident from previous reviews. Regarding the Thomson Rep we have only positive comments and he is not at fault for a delayed flight and contacts the hotel as soon as he informed of the delay.

The hotel does not discriminate against any nationality and welcome guests from around the world. The food temperatures are checked regularly throughout meal times, we have ten different theme nights and the three a la carte restaurants available. Ice cream is also provided twice on the evening buffet during the week as well as free in the Kids corner every lunch time.

We have just returned from a week’s stay at Sea Club and have to let you all know it was a fabulous week away. We had such a fantastic time and met some wonderful people. All of the staff made us feel welcome and our every need was attended to. A big thank you to all.

We were a bit nervous about going due to some negative reviews on Trip Advisor and the political situation but we shouldn’t of worried at all.

Our room overlooked the beach and was kept so clean with nice daily touches- for example flowers and dressing gowns left by the cleaner. The pool/beach guys made us welcome everyday helping us to “set up” and what a bonus having clean beach towels supplied every day. The restaurant staff were great especially the omelette and pasta guys, the spaghetti bolognaise was GREAT!!!! We are both quite fussy eaters and can only say the complaints about the food is unfounded as every meal we had we were completely happy with. A great choice of varied dishes at every meal time. We had lunch in the Italian restaurant on the beach most days, there was not so much choice as it was a smaller restaurant but the quality of the food was amazing. We didn’t try any of the other restaurants as we were happy with the choice in the main restaurants at night. The pool bar snacks were good if you fancy chips, burgers or hot dogs- and of course cakes in the afternoon. The bar staff at all bars remembered what drinks we had and we found that they had them ready for us as we walked up to the bar- very good customer service!!!

We weren’t pestered around the pool or beach that much- but chatted with the boat trip/hairdresser/massage guys everyday- they are only doing their job at the end of the day! The aquarobics in the pool every morning was fun and the entertainment team were good and worked hard to make sure we enjoyed ourselves, which we did. We joined in some of the entertainment but was not made to feel bad if we declined the offer. There are no other promo guys allowed in the hotel.

We had regular phone calls and cards posted through our door from the Thompson Rep and customer service team to ask if we were having a good time and did we have any complaints so I can’t understand why folk have come back complaining when they could of made a complaint at the time face to face which would of given the hotel management the opportunity to resolve any problems that may have arisen.

We went on the VIP boat trip which was great, the bonus was seeing a lot of dolphins- with babies- which was an amazing experience – but to swim/snorkel off the pier on the hotel beach is like swimming in an aquarium- so many fish of different colours right on your door step.

The gardens and grounds were beautifully kept and the gardeners defiantly take pride in their work and always had a big smile and wave when we walked past them.

The gym was good with top of the range equipment.

We enjoyed it so much and can honestly say it was one of our best holiday and we will be going back next year.

we stayed at the sea club from the 6th to the 20th of august from the moment we arrived the staff made us feel so relaxed .we stayed in room 6119 in block b6 the rooms are spacious and well cleaned our cleaner was called Hassan what a great guy my fiancée was abit under the weather and did not go out of the room for 1 day Hassan brought flowers to make her feel better anything you needed he was there for you. plus a special mention to the waiters who bent over backwards to please you especially Mahmoud mazaley this guy was simply the best and Ramadan the omelette man always knew what we wanted. The food was amazing and plenty to choose from the waiters even done special meals for us. moving onto the lobby bar mohammed the bar/waiter was brilliant always kept our glasses full he was always smiling and very polite. we ventured out a few times and used the hotel taxis we had the same driver called Edil he was brilliant, he even stopped and bought us a sugar cane drink he was a nice funny man. all the on site shops were great a big hello to Hassan who said I was his brother from another mother also soloman in the shop that sold everything for all your crisps and chocolate. a special mention goes out to ash our Thomson rep he was always on hand for anything you needed to know he kept us well informed about our trips , our guys on reception were polite spoke very good English and were very funny . the waiter at the pool bar was great cant remember his name , the snacks by the pool were good and plentiful. the whole hotel is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness we could not find a nicer place or staff totally awesome. we had the 3 a la carte meals of ltalian , Lebanese , and teppenyaki all really good well worth a visit . Laura the guest relations girl phoned us twice and left notes to make sure we was ok and if we needed anything just get in touch .we are thinking of going back next year with all the family 11 of us in total so sea club prepare yourselves . we would definitely recommend this hotel . see ya soon babs and dave x

I will start with the negatives I have and that was that as a British tourist in this resort my girlfriend and I were of the minority due to the hotel being largely filled with Russian tourists and as I found out later on in my holiday Russian is one of the languages learnt in schools in Egypt however this did not ruin our holiday because the majority of the staff speak good English, the only other negative was that we were told at the beginning of our stay that on the beach there is a section that has big yellow relax flags, that area is for guests not wishing to be bothered by touts trying to sell things to you now this is a good thing however some members of the massage teams don't seem to follow these rules which was a tad annoying at times. Right now that is out of the way all I can say is when we arrived we were met with a warm welcome by Husain at reception were he explained every thing about the hotel and this carried on right through our stay any problems were no problem and literally sorted within minutes, bar staff were amazing always asking if everything was ok and if we needed any thing in particular a lovely man called medhat always serving with a smile it is just unfortunate that some of the staff travel from Cairo for 2weeks work then return home cos that guy made our holiday special. The animation team was also very good and if you have Kids then they will be well looked after. The food was amazing different things to choose from every night and if you fancied a change of faces then you can always visit one of the restaurants at sea life or sea gardens. All in all best holiday we have ever had! The one thing I would suggest is that you budget for tipping too not so much in the hotel it's self all tho we did tip a few members of staff just because they did such a good job but more outside the resort for just about anything from bus drivers to people on the excursions but I would say that is more the job of the travel agent to advise its customers. But as I said to Husain and medhat we will be going back and would strongly recommend this hotel / resort to anyone.

We booked this hotel as a party of 4 for 11 nights. We found everything fantastic about the hotel especially the food and the service. Everyone is so attentive and helpful. The rooms were spic and span everyday and given an extra touch by making towel origami most days giving it the extra wow factor! We had glorious HOT sunshine everyday and relaxed by each of the 3 pools the resort has and enjoyed dining in some of the restaurants. A must for everyone is to go snorkelling and the quad desert experience. Ashraf our travel rep for Thomson was great too, very helpful! Please be aware that the majority of staff look for tips even if its just putting your luggage on the bus for you! We will definitely be back!!

Just returned from 2 weeks at sea club had a great time the resort is kind kf in the middle kf no where with nothing within walking distance and was very quiet but suited us as no worrying about getting up to get sun lounger and no queues in the restaurants we used all 3 resorts which was great for a change of scenery I had no problems with being ill and really enjoyed all the buffets the Lebanese restaurant was really good too all the restaurant and bar staff we encountered were very friendly always wanting to know how your hol is going the reps are always wandering round the pool for a chat too. Snorkelling is a must remember your underwater camera for some amazing photos The only person I didn't like was the beautician guy I think his name was Kareem he was rude and extremely pushy coming up once a twice a day even tho already said no pulling your ear phones out or taking book out your hand to talk to you plain rude! But my only grumble if returning to sharm I would come back and will recommend it to others

This was our first time in egypt. Arrived at 21.30hrs after a good flight to be greeted with the warmest of welcomes at The Sea Club Resort. The restaurant was still open so we were told to go straight for food before checking in. We were taken to our rooms by a friendly porter which were really clean, tidy and spacious. We received a phone call from reception asking if everything was ok with our room. The facilities at the hotel are exactly what the brochure describe. Fantastic pool area, there are 3 speciality restaurants which YOU must try as are exquist, there are the main buffet restaurant & pool bar snacks which have a good selection NOT REPETITIVE like other reviews say. The Staff at reception are really friendly & helpful no job is too small,also all the staff at the complex are brilliant, i would TOTALLY recommend this hotel to everyone. Thank you to all staff for a fantastic holiday.

Room Tip: Garden rooms are quieter.
