“Lovely hotel, lovely staff, already looking to go back next year :-)”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 March 2013

We were recommended this hotel by friends of the family who have been before and are also staying there at the minute.Me my mum and 2 sisters had a great 1 week stay here in February and are looking to go back next year.Big shout out to Al Pacino & Sam from the animation team they were great and made our stay even better, and also Marco who we booked some of our trips with,go and book your trips with him he's great :-).The staff couldnt do enough for you, nothing was to much trouble. We were recommended to stay in the tiran block so we emailed the hotel before we went asking could we stay in that block and we did :-). The rooms were big with 2 king size beds, and a large balcony, and the hotel grounds were kept spotless.if you go out the hotel an turn right there is an english bar called the Union Jack 2 minute walk away.also we found out on our last day if you keep going past the Union Jack bar about a 10 minute walk there are loads an loads of shops, also a kfc, burger king,mc donalds,TGI Fridays ect. overall we had a brilliant holiday and would recommend this hotel to anyone and cant wait to go back next year :-)

First time in Sharm el sheikh and it was one to remember, will definitely visit again. Special thanks to the chef "Mostafa Mohammed" who catered to our needs and cooked us a special Indian curry which tasted awesome. Another special thanks to our waiter Iffat, made us feel comfortable and looked after whether it was breakfast, lunch or dinner. and another special thanks to Moze. Only thing this hotel needs is free wifi. overall very enjoyable experience will be going back soon.

this was are second visit to sharm grand plaza, i would like to thank all staff for making are stay a very good one, to many names to mention, the food theres allways something that will suit everyone, the gardens and pool areas are kept immaculate, all the staff do everything they can to make your stay enjoyable, rooms are a bit tired but clean and tidy, this is a great winter break we stayed in febuary weather was very nice, the russians are very arrogant and pushy at meal times, and VERY wasteful and treat the staff with no respect [ maybe not all] but it didnt spoil are holiday, even the manager makes the time to ask how your stays been, we will be going back in febuary , so keep up the good work to all the staff, regards geoff

Room Tip: rooms on the south side are quieter

Recently returned from 8 night stay, having previously visited 6 x 5* hotels in Sharm and Hurghada. Overall, this hotel compared favourably and for what we paid was excellent value.

We were allocated a lovely room in OCRA block with lovely views of the pools, gardens and sea. Thank you Mr Waleed Maghawry. Although a little dated, the room was kept spotlessly clean with large balcony, fridge and safe. Bedding and towels were changed daily.

The pool areas and beach are well kept and have plenty of sunbeds and parasols.

The hotel has 2 main restaurants serving similar dishes and a grill bar near the beach serving pizza, pasta, rice, fries, chicken, fish and various other foods, salads and fruit. In addition, there are a number of a la carte restaurants although we did not find the need to visit these. Other hotels in Egypt may offer a larger selection of dishes but what was available was more than enough and the quality was excellent. The chefs were more than happy to prepare other dishes if you asked. In fact the kitchen staff and waiters were the best we have ever experienced and did all they could to please and make your stay enjoyable. Special thanks to Executive Chef-Yassin Mahamed, Sous Chef-Ibrahim El Shalhat, Chef Mostafa and Chef Mohamed. Special thanks also to the waiters- Hamada, Sameh Faray, Romany, Mohamed, Saeid and the many others who looked after us so well including Adam A Allah, the Asst F&B Manager.

Drinks are available from 10am each day from the 2 pool bars and beach bar which closes at sunset. In the evening between 7pm and 11pm, drinks are also available from the NUTS bar which caters for only UK guests during these times. After 11pm, all guests may use the NUTS bar which also doubles up as a Night Club. The pool bars also remain open until 11pm. All bars serve water, soft drinks, beer, cocktails and local spirits. However, wine is not available in any of these All Inclusive Bars and can only be obtained from the Pay Bar or the 2 main restaurants in the evening only. This seems very strange and very frustrating for those guests who enjoy a glass of wine with there lunch or in the evening, either before or after dinner. Although 2 pool bars and the NUTS bar serve drinks in the evening (excluding wine), the hotel lacks a comfortable terrace bar where guests can enjoy a quiet drink. There is a lovely terrace by the Pay Bar in the reception area which overlooks the pools, gardens and red sea. It has tables and comfortable chairs but was hardly used during our stay. If this bar was part of the All Inclusive concept, it would be a great improvement. That said, the hotel need to introduce &/or enforce a Dress Code for the evening. Some guests (mainly, Red Band) find it acceptable to enter the restaurants in the evening wearing beach shorts, vests, flipflops and beach towels over their shoulders!

Other than a couple of negatives, we had a wonderful time at the hotel and cannot thank the staff enough for making our stay so enjoyable. Thank you and we will visit your Sister Hotel across the road when it opens.

Room Tip: Request a room in OCRA Block

We had bed bugs and cockroaches. The food was not very fresh and three of our party of four had diarrhoea.Although the manager moved our rooms three times the mattresses were stained and dirty each time. He tried to rectify our problems but the standard of hygiene is poor and the hotel in need of refurbishment. The manager and staff were lovely but working with poor quality facilities and low standards. Not in line with the 5 star rating.

We have been to Sharm 7 times, its not the best hotel, but its not the worst. In its favour lovely grounds, large clean rooms, and good snorkelling.Onto the not so good points

Bars running out of beer, staff couldn't care less.
No wine till dinner in the eve,not good if you don't drink spirits, certainly not my idea of all inclusive. i would have loved a glass of wine at lunchtime instead of sprite!!!!
Food selection very limited especially desserts.
We only felt we only needed to tip 4 times, nobody seemed to want to go out of there way to help you,in other sharm hotels we have easily given out £50 in tips for good service.
We asked customer relations for feedback form she didn't bring one, must have known we had a few negative comments to make.
Animation team and music around the pools very loud, even with headphones you could still hear them

After the good reports we had read, coming to sharm at least 1-2 times a year,we really thought we were going to find our forever hotel, shame this wasn't the case,a couple of improvements one being the wine we would return. We are back in May to a different hotel maybe that will be the one.

Room Tip: Go for Tiran or Orca Blocks

Just returned from an amazing week in Sharm Grand Plaza, beautiful hotel, staff were all very polite and helpful. Rooms were always kept spotless! If you want to go on holiday to relax and chill out this hotel is definitely the one! The Animation team were brilliant! Always kept us entertained throughout the day and in the evening, always full of lots of energy especially Sam & Luca!

Would defiantly love to return to this hotel again! Had the best time and didn't want to leave!
