We stayed from 28th October until 7th November 2013, the rooms were very spacious, modern and clean, lots off different pools which were again clean, with slides, swim up bars and a plunge pool. Lots of different bars and restaurants offering everything from Egyptian, Italian, Mexican, Lebanese, Indian, burger and chips, fish and chips and more.
We felt well looked after and valued by all of the staff, nothing was too much for them and they love the English. Weather was in the 30's all the time we were there.
All towels are supplied, beach is nice but can get crowded in the morning, fantastic fish within 2 steps of entering the sea, snorkel and mask with sea shoes is a must!
Entertainment crew kept everyone active around the slide pool during the day with aqua aerobics, belly dancing, darts, ping pong and more. The evening entertainment was ok in the Amphitheatre every evening, mainly in Russian though.
Bad points, full of rude Russian guests who didn't know how to queue or say please and thank you. Entertainment and food within the main restaurant was aimed at the Russian audience.
There were annoying flies everywhere, but it is a hot country so I suppose you should expect that!

We stayed one week 24th - 31st August . The check in was quick and front office manager met us informed us he was there if we wanted anything and ensured they gave us a nice big room (suite) with very big bed and lovely view!! However, the room was very tired and shabby, cracked tiles, filthy grout, save didn't work on arrival , hair dryer didn't work , fridge took some working out - however a quick phone call to reception and things were sorted!! The facilities for the all inclusive were excellent always something to eat and drink (if not often to our taste) but they certainly try their hardest to please in every aspect ! When the head chef heard we didn't like the food he personally invited us to a meal where he asked what we liked and cooked for us individually . The overall manager of both the rehana hotels was constantly asking how we were and went out of his way to make us welcome , arranged for us to keep our rooms on till we left free of charge , told the chefs, bar men etc to personally make sure we had everything we wanted, even had a waiter bring us drinks in the royal beach hotel (where we were officially only permitted to drink at the beach) even the bar staff on the beach would often appear with glasses if cold beer for us on the beach - as the beach bar didn't serve beer. There was only about 10 British staying in the hotel so the towel man (ragab) would have all our towels next to each other around the pool by 8.00am each morning . The cocktail list was also quite extensive for all inclusive - and the lounge bar upstairs served drinks till the very early ours - so never a rush to get a last drink, and was lovely sitting on the upstairs terrace enjoying a cocktail or 2 !! All in all we had a great holiday where we were treat like royalty - A HUGE THANKYOU to all he staff who completely made the holiday - I m sure would be suitable for young children, however due to lack of other British families older children may get bored from not having other children to make friends with!! I would go back if I get the opportunity for a week away without our children :)

We arrived on Mon 21st October 2013 around 17.30pm, check in was quick and informative and the staff were warm and friendly. we were advised that we could have dinner in the 'Star Fish Bar' that evening. We were taken to our room which had a super huge double bed and a super pool view. we freshned up and headed for dinner, where again we were met by warm and friendly staff. We then proceeded to eat a 6 course dinner and it was superb! We then found the star of the Resort in the Lobby bar 'Hani', he was marvelous to us for the whole holiday and looked after us so well! The food throughout the week was excellent and nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. Pools were clean and well managed, and the gardens were beautiful! The room was clean and spacious. The whole week was magical from start to finish. Thanks to all at the Rehana Sharm resort. This was our first time to Egpyt and I want to go back to the Rehana Sharm next year. In my opinion, you cant go wrong if you book this hotel.

Had two weeks in August at Rehana Sharm and wow did we have a good time. We took our 19 year old son and his girlfriend and we all had a fantastic time. There was something to suit us all. Obviously as there is no pork, it wasn't possible to get a 'real' cooked english breakfast, but there was so much more on offer we didn't miss it. Every meal had wonderful desserts and I think we tried every one! Main dining room staff were all very helpful and courteous, especially our main man Ahmed! He saved our table every morning for us at breakfast! Many Russian visitors, some rude, others quite friendly and willing to be sociable. There was the usual case of saving sun beds with the towels but there were more than enough sunbeds for everyone so this wasn't a real problem. Our rooms were clean and well looked after and we had lovely towel sculptures and extra bottled water in the fridge which we appreciated by giving the lads that clean for us tips of around £2.00 to £3.00 every couple of days. They earn every penny of their wages. Oh yes and the popcorn is to die for by the main pool! We would all definitely go again if circumstances allow.

We went over from the 3rd August till 11th August and after reading the reviews after we booked I was not so sure BUT when we got there it was so good .
We arrived late after a flight delay not getting to the hotel until midnight so had an easy check in got shown to our room but first observation got changed to another no problems
after that it all went so smooth and good ok there was a few Russians and other nationalities but not a problem .
The staff are so helpful and go out there way to help you in anyway they can so thanks guys
I did have a problem with my tummy but as I said to the wife we sit here putting on factor 15 as if we are in Spain on a 25c holiday instead of in Sharm at 41c /45c holiday plus I did have a little to much bevvy on the day and night B4 so all my OWN fault
I cant believe how hard the staff work for there shifts are so long in that heat.
Overall I think the resort is brilliant and looking forward to going back

We stayed here from 4th July to 18th July 2013. Our family of 4 includes a 5 year old and a 2 year old.

The good things were:

Beautiful gardens and they keep them clean and watered. It is lovely to see things well looked after.
They know how to cook meat - some brilliant food.
Great pools, so much choice, big busy ones, little quiet ones, lots of little bars dotted around so you don't have to spend ages waiting.
Big rooms and balconies have really good views over the gardens. I would recommend one facing the pool as they are lit up so nicely at night.
The fish on the beach are incredible. The children were amazed, even my 2 year old became a water baby to try and chase them!
The check in and reception staff on the front desk are the professional kind of hotel staff you would expect in a european hotel. Good service.
The beach is about 10 mins away when you factor in walking out of the hotel, through the foot tunnel, and catching the bus down to the shore. However, this is an extremely entertaining outing for small children so this was actually a good thing for us. The beach it self is very gravelly and not comfortable - the only real attraction is the fascinating fish in the shallow water.
There was lots of entertainment every night if that is your kind of thing. Don't accept a room by the amphitheatre - very noisy. We stayed by the Snack bar where there was early evening entertainment, that was great as it was easy to move sleepy kids back in to their bed after a drink.
The place is FULL of Russians and Eastern Europeans. I can't complain about them, they have a different culture and I'm sure they find us boring and unfriendly as we find them pushy and messy. We made some lovely Russian friends - children have no prejudice - and learned to hold our own in the food queue!
There is a kids disco session every evening in the amphitheatre. They love it and they do look cute.
The laundry service is excellent and prompt but check the pricing as they can't add up ;-)
Most of the staff are really lovely and friendly and helpful and so hard working. They love kids and are really tolerant which makes a big difference if you have small ones.
There are lots of beds around the main pools and you can get a great spot up until about 9am when it gets busier. When its too busy to find a good bed, you can just head off to one of the quieter pools. Some days we had a pool all to ourselves! Heaven!

The bad things:

The main restaurant is a free for all. If you get there early or late you are in with a chance. If you get there mid flow you will struggle to find somewhere clean to sit and anything to eat with. The place is really under staffed - the guys work looooonnngg hours and get tired. The guys at the bar in the main restaurant and the chefs serving the food seem to get a bit possessive over their goods. You have to ask for more with a smile when they give you measly portions. I think they get a bit fed up with all the waste and so they hold back.
Sometimes the food is revolting. In fact, I think that a great deal of the waste is because the food was either really nice, or really horrible, and people were not very good at guessing which it would be before loading up. However, even on nights when it went wrong in the kitchens we managed to find ourselves a good meal.
They do not do foreign food very well. The mexican restaurant had fahitas on the menu - but when it was served there just a very large plate full of casseroled chilli beef. Tasty but not fahitas. No rice, no breads... just a plate of meat served with a straight face. That gave us a good laugh. In fact I wish there was more Egyptian food on offer instead of all the dodgy attempts at international food.
Some staff want tips for breathing. Some staff make up elaborate stories to try and extract cash from you (3 different people did this to us I don't know why they thought we were loaded, it just made us grumpy). They usually start 'I am leaving for Cairo...' Make your excuses and walk away. After a few mistakes we only tipped for good service.
In some of the blocks they turn the hot water off in the day and pretend it is a temporary problem. When you complain to reception an engineer turns up and pretends to fiddle with your taps and then expects a tip. Do not fall for this. They just turn the boiler off in the block. Tell them you need it on straight away please and they can just turn it back on. They did this in several blocks.
Yes this hotel is about 15 mins from the airport but if you are booked onto a shared transfer you might take 1.5hrs to get dropped off as the hotel is on the other side of the road from the airport. This typically makes it the last drop off on the way back to the airport for the next bus load of arrivals. NOT FUNNY when you have spent 1.5 hrs attempting to queue (the other eastern eu tourists do not understand the concept of queuing) to get out of the airport. Imagine doing that with 2 under fives in tow.
Quite a few items of children's clothing went missing from my room. Whether this was my carelessness or for more serious reasons, keep an eye on your stuff.
There was lots of broken furniture and fittings in our room. With two small children we were not too bothered as at least we had no concerns about anything getting broken by us. We told the housekeeper and all he had to say was 'i know'. lol
The bathroom was wiped clean but would have benefited from a really good application of neat bleach!
The kids club is not safe. I left my 5 year old there once and within half an hour I spotted lots of small children running free outside the club. I returned and watched him play so he was safe. The girl in charge didn't even notice until an hour later when a mum turned up and found her child missing from inside the club. In the meantime kids had lost items of clothing and been running around in 40degrees without water or sunblock. I didn't leave him there again and provided my own kids club ;-) The girl in charge was just watching Russian gymnast girls practice their moves inside the club hut (they were quite amazing)

I never stay in the same place twice so it isn't fair for me to pass judgement on whether I would go back or not. I will say you can have a fab family holiday here, don't expect too much and in many ways you will be pleasantly surprised. The kids loved it and that is what really counts. The memories I have are lovely.
