“ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC HOTEL - 5 X TO SHARM AND THIS WAS THE BEST!!”
Reviewed 16 June 2010

I can't believe some of the bad reviews on this site with regards to this hotel!! I have been to Sharm 5 times now, staying at a variety of 4 and 5 star hotels including Sheriton and Tropicana Grand Oasis and the Rehana Sharm Resort has been by far the most outstanding.

The complex is beautiful, extremely large pools catering for all ages and swimming abilities and water slides to suit all ages (including adults). I have never been to a resort in Egypt that also states 'All Inclusive' and means it. Normally at most hotels the all inclusive excludes drinks at certain bars and snacks, but everything was included here. You could never be hungry as there is food available at various points all the time and the staff are always happy to help. The food was also the best myself or my partner have ever had in Egypt.

Entertainment wasn't exactly booming however this is typical of all resorts in Egypt. However what was particarly special was the effort the resort put on to cater for the England world cup match, They put up an OHP screen, and separate area was set up with flags and posters around the bar. The staff really catered for the event, especially as Egypt weren't even playing!

The reviews that mention about the Russians, this is true, they are rude and obnoxious, however this hotel barely had any in comparison to all other resorts I have stayed in. For anybody who is new to Sharm, the Russians go over to Egypt all the time as they get good discounts due to a government agreement, so no matter where you stay there is no avoiding then. However this hotel doesn't have many at all and the staff make it very clear they do not like them and much prefer the English so try not to let this worry you!

The rooms are a good size all with either a good size Balacony or terrace area and the majority have lovely views. The rooms were cleaned daily, and the Pool area and Gardens were cleaned regularly throughout the day.

Tipping is a typical tradition in Egypt. It is expected anywhere you stay and in Naama Bay this is not at fault of the resort, again you will find it anywhere you stay. The same with Taxi prices. In June 2010 you could expect to pay between 60-70 Egyption Pounds to go from Rehana Resort to Naama Bay, but ofcoarse if you don't agree up front then expect the driver to try it on! This is typical in any foreign country.

The trips available at this resort or any other are amazing, The Jeep Safari, Quad Biking, Tiran Island Boat Trip, Bedowin Dinner are to name but a few and are all fantastic.

For the price we paid through a1 travel and the experience we had both myself and my partner have said how we would definitely go back to this resort if we did go back to Sharm for a 6th time. This is the first time I have ever said I would recommend a resort to my friends or family. Anyone who says different clearly need a reality check.!!

First to put this review into context, I and my family have visited Sharm on 3 previous occasions and have never had room for complaint. This Hotel however is nothing more than a budget Hotel with budget services and hospitality. Three days into the holiday the Hotel decided to demolish part of the property and build a new reception (this on top of the building work within 30m of the Hotel exterior). In the first week the entire bar staff of the pool bar where replaced due to the filthy condition of the bar and the glasses in which pool drinks were served. Neither my family nor myself have been ill in Sharm previously however on this occasion, all members of the party were ill and I have suffered the after affects for a week since returning home. On the final day at checkout (12:00) all of the parties wrist bands where removed and we were told that all facilities were to be paid for until departure. At which point the staff stopped accepting British Pounds (which had been perfectly ok for tips in the previous fortnight)

I have just came back after a week at this hotel, i went with 5 adults a 17 year old, 13 and 7 year old. This hotel was perfect, everyone was entertained the staff were lovely and very helpful. The food was not amazing but there was something for everyone, the snack bar was perfect food being cooked infront of you like pizza, chips, burgers etc. Also the italian resturant is definately worth a visit. Swimming pools and rooms were very clean, staff were cleaning the pool every night. We went on 1 trip organised by the hotel which was the quad biking, this was a highlight of our trip. Make sure you go on the evening trip as its a lot cooler. We had no complanints at all and have already recommended it to other friends and family. The onyl down side is the russians but that can be easily avoided as the hotel site is big enough.

Wow what can i say...i was terrified to go after reading some of these reviews but it was the best holiday ive ever had!

--the complex was beautiful!
--the staff were so lovely, friendly and approachable (considering they get paid 81 GBP a month and work 2 months straight with only 2 weeks off!)
--food was nice, but not all agree
--drinks are not watered down
--great pool

many people there would moan and say bad things but many people like myself could not see the fuss, it has everything they offer when you book it! It was what we expected, and was fantastic for money - (500 for ten nites all inclusive)

the only thing that was missing was entertainment, but this is a working progress and the complex is being extended all the time...however, this does not mean to say it looks like a building site, becuase it DID NOT!lol

beach was not so good but the pools were amazing so least u get that

there are shops nearby and a english bar (ST georges), resturants (TGIs) and Mcdonalds!

Many people are bound to not like some food, but you can have a mcdonalds or KFC deleivered for a a cheap price and free delivery!

Treat yourself at the spa, the staff were fantastic!

Im going to go back there again next year

IMPORTANT MESSAGE ----- DONT LET THE RUSSAINS PUSH IN LOL! they dont do it alot but some will

Have a great time :)

This hotel is definately not 5 star and possibly just about a 3 star rating. The bedrooms are old and tired, although clean. The restaurant was more of a bun fight than an enjoyable experience. Usually no vacant tables and those that were vacant were dirty. Cutlery dirty every time. The food overall was not bad although quite bland. The staff at the poolside bar again unwelcoming unless you were a Russian female, it seemed as they were doing you a favour serving you and never smiled. The plastic cups had seen better days. Around the pool was quite dirty in places and I never saw any cleaning of the poolside being undertaken. The entertainment in the 'Magic Pub' was atrocious with the duo being drab and the organist needing a personality transplant. Overall, apart from the weather, a disappointing experience. The Hard Rock Cafe in Naama Bay was a saviour! Beware of the taxi fares both at the hotel and on the street, try to have the correct money as they will try and rip you off.

I have just returned from Rehana Sharm Resort this morning after 2 weeks there. I went with my partner we are in our 20's we had read bad reviews prior to our holiday so were very nervous in case they were true, but when we arrived at the hotel i knew from pulling up they were rubbish and being just being picky. The resort had everything and was beautiful, the staff were so helpful and really made the effort with English people, the food and drinks were great and plenty of choice.

The staff worked long hours and always had a smile on their faces, polite and made you feel like royalty. Me and partner met some amazing people and overall had a fantastic time we didn’t want to come home. We would definitely return again.

All the staff are eager to help, although they're not as amiable as other places I've visited. Most Egyptians seem reserved/abrupt. As we finished one drink, on a couple of occasions the staff would bring over another drink, without us having to order. One night, I got up to dance and when I returned to my table, my handbag had disappeared. A member of staff had thought we'd left so immediately took it to reception.

Our room was clean and pleasant. The cleaner came round daily and changed the towels on a daily basis too. He also left swans and hearts on our bed with a flower as a decoration (a nice touch).

We chilled at the resort mainly, but the beach is only a short distance away.

I liked the fact that at all times of the day or night, staff were busy cleaning or gardening or maintaining the resort. They even made a point of keeping the bins clean and shiny.

We got Egyptian Belly whilst we were there. I've since heard that this happens to everyone in Egypt, so we couldn't blame it on the resort. They did make a omelettes and pasta freshly for you. Some of the food was nice, but some of it didn't look so good. There are 2 other restaurants besides the main restaurants, which were very nice. You had to book in advance for these though.

Some of the pools had pool bars and sun beds actually in the water, which impressed me! You had to get up early to reserve your bed by the pool, but there were plenty of sun beds on the beach.

I wouldn't return to Egypt now that I'm aware of the Egyptian belly problem, but if the resort was in another country, I'd definately go back!!
