“Shaky start, but was great in the end”
Reviewed 13 April 2012

Overall, we had a great time at the hotel. It's location is far enough away from the central town to be peaceful, but still within walking distance. The manager, Sami, strives very hard to make sure all your requests are met fully. The family room was a great size for us, and the dinners were exceptional - personally cooked by Sami himself, and the last night he cooked to our request! The pool is nice, although a bit deep for children. There was a problem with our booking, which meant our first night was in a double room - plus the mosquitoes made it an uncomfortable night. However, Sami tried his best to fix everything and the nights afterward were all great. It's a lovely hotel in a great place, and so different from the rest of Egypt.

Room Tip: Two family suites are large enough to sleep family with 2 children.

We stayed in this hotel in April 2012, for four nights. The main reasons we decided on this hotel were the garden, the swimming pool and it came recommanded by a friend. We booked a triple room, and our room was quite small for three people. This is mainly because it was a double bedroom in which they added the third bed. The bathroom was new with gorgeous tiles, nice hot shower. The garden is gorgeous, very big, very green and peaceful, with plenty of chairs and cushion. There is also a fireplace. The swimming pool is quite small, not as big as it looks on the website, but big enough to swim in.
The manager of this hotel Sami is a lovely bloke. I called him before I booked to get some information on the hotel and on how to get to SIwa from Cairo. Sami was really great, he gave me tons of information and sent me this long email detailing all the many ways I could use to travel to Siwa. We bought a one day trip in the desert from the hotel, and it was really good. Our local driver/guide was a 25 years old university graduate, very knowledgeable, easy going and generous with his smile. We all enjoyed his company and conversation and he was an excellent driver.
Breakfast and diner were included. The breakfast consists of a plate with cheese (chedar, feta and cream cheese) butter, honey, jam, boiled egg, Egyptian and western bred, mango juice. Sami cooks the diner and there is plenty to eat. Soup, mezze, rice, main (fried fish, spaghetti
Bolognese, chicken paner), vegetable, salad and desert. Sami is a good cook, inventive and somehow eccentric in his dishes combination. He is also a very talkative man, with always a smile on his face and a good story to tell.
Above all he is incredibly helpful and generous with his time.
We all enjoyed our stay in the safari garden hotel. My only reservation is the
lack of Internet access in the bedroom, but we can access wifi in the reception for free.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a good view off the garden, our room was behind a pillar so we did not have an...

Don't go there unless you are willing to leave a piece of your soul over there! Such a beautiful & magically charming place will certainly take a piece of your soul! A very simple entrance followed by a very comfortable reception that lights up with the warm welcoming smile of the manager Mr. Samy (who also is the owner) Surrounded by palm trees, natural warm hot spring water comes out of the depth part of the mother earth and acts like a swimming pool in the center of the garden, the dome inside the room made out of natural break that was sparkling with stars & very kind moon watching out for us during our dreams! Staying at Siwa Gardens completed my dream of being in Siwa. Added a meaning of missing parts of my joy. Thank you Mr. Samy. I promise to go back again so I could feel complete once again.

Room Tip: 2nd floor rooms are recommended. all rooms have swimming pool & palm tree view

Living in Giza, with it noise, with so many people around, travel to Siwa is a treat for the senses. Everything is pure and authentic in this place at Sahara desert. Then, if you are staying at Siwa Safari Gardens Hotel you can think the paradise exist and you are inside. An island of peace and tranquilty. Sami and all the staff are all time ready to be helpful in all you need, been friendly all time. Finally you may feel that in Siwa Safari Gardens you had not been staying between a staff, you were there between your new friends. It was our first time but will come many more. I'm sure.

This hotel is a real gem, I stayed here for two nights and wished it was longer!
From the moment of arrival Sami and his staff were lovely, nothing is too much trouble for them and they are justifiably proud of their hotel. I received chocolates, Siwan dates and chilled karkaday on arrival at 6.45am and after a long bus ride that was much appreciated.
The hotel is decorated in the Siwan style and is very appealing from the first impressions of the entrance, reception area and the restaurant building to the gardens and rooms.
The rooms are in low-rise blocks of just two floors surrounding a lovely peaceful well kept garden with lots of palm trees and a warm natural spring pool.
I had a lovely room on the second floor, which was very comfortable with two single beds, desk, TV, air-con, fridge and even a mosquito plug in, everything was in working order. The bathroom was small but functional and I loved the domed roofs inlaid with bricks which help keep the room cool.
I had two ample breakfasts there which were delicious in the Egyptian style – beans, salad, boiled eggs, eggs cooked to order, bread, yoghurt, sausage, dates, banana, cheese, jam, honey, juice, tea & coffee, olives. Sami is a good cook, he made me some of the best felafel I've ever eaten for breakfast on the second day. Dinner on our first night was by special request as we were the only guests and we asked for vegetarian or fish. It was really delicious and plentiful, carrot soup, baked fish, rice, salad, bread and fresh fruit for dessert. There was a buffet dinner on our second night as a group of university students arrived from Cairo, it looked delicious but we had already eaten dinner in the desert, so just had dessert.
The location is perfect, just a short walk to the town centre and sights, if I ever go back to Siwa this is where I'd stay, the hotel has a great atmosphere and is exceptional value for money.

We would highly recommend a stay with Sami at Siwa Safari Gardens. Sami is the best host we have ever had and we have stayed all over the world. We were served delicious food that was freshly prepared for us each morning and evening. The room was very clean and comfortable. Sami was very helpful and enjoyed sharing his knowledge about Siwa. He is very passionate about his slice of paradise and we can totally see why. Siwa Safari Gardens Hotel has a very warm, friendly vibe and we would definately recommend staying with Sami and his wonderful staff. The hotel is situated in a great location and just a short walk to the town square where you can sit and watch life go by and be totally occupied for hours. There is bike hire available and it is an easy ride around Siwa and well worth the effort. There is an amazing, well preserved culture in Siwa that was an absolute pleasure to have been able to experience. Life can be so simple, yet rich in so many ways. This is one place that we can honestly say has made a real impact on our lives and one we will not forget. If an opportunity presents itself again for us to visit Siwa we will be staying with Sami. We would like to thank you once again Sami for your wonderful hospitality and kind words. We wish you the very best for a prosperous future and hope to visit your fabulous slice of paradise again.

Room Tip: Any room would be lovely as it is a hotel in a nice quiet location.

Siwa Safari Gardens Hotel is a pleasant and relaxing surprise in Siwa. The oasis is an experience we would recommend visiting to those travellers who are not looking for touristry attractions in Egypt. Once you have left the chaos of Cairo or the most popular archeological sites of the country, Siwa will offer you relax and silence ( you will be surprised and amused by the brays of the donkeys and the crows of hens and roosters !)
In all this Siwa Safari Gardens is the place where to stay because it is only few minutes' walking from the more crowded main square of the village, it is within a palm garden and it is very clean and well kept.
We read other travellers' reviews, where they complained about mosquitos: it might be a nuisance, as the oasis is rich with springs and water, but in the Safari Gardens all the windows are equipped with mosquitos net.
Then the food: it was so fresh and well cooked that we really enjoyed all the meals (rich breakfast, sometimes buffet and rich dinner, sometimes buffet).
We slept very well there, enjoyed the spring in the middle of the garden (our children dived in....we didn't dare, it was cold....it was the end of December!), we liked the fire that every evening was lit by the staff in the garden and found the hall so cosy and familiar (free wi-fi access).
The staff was so discrete and reliable.
Among all these lovely details, there is the outstanding and friendly presence of Mr Sima, an efficient and thoughtful manager: he is really friendly and talktive, but without being too intrusive or disturbing.
We spent 5 pleasant days in Siwa (4 nights at the Siwa Safari Gardens Hotel).
We really felt at home there!
